Why Doktor.se Doktor.se is Sweden's largest digital healthcare provider. We combine physical clinics with a digital platform serving millions of consultations per year — backed by a profitable, international organization with 1,000+ employees and over 1B SEK in revenue. Our 25-person engineering team operates with startup autonomy inside enterprise stability. We're actively integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic) into patient and clinician experiences — and the mobile apps are where patients interact with all of it. The role You'll join a small, high-ownership mobile team: you, our iOS lead, and two Android engineers working closely together across platforms. This isn't a maintenance role. We're actively modernizing our iOS architecture, improving test coverage, and making real decisions about how we structure things going forward. You'll be shaping how we build iOS at Doktor.se — not just writing features to spec. What you'll work on Help settle on a clean, sustainable architecture — we're evaluating approaches now — and drive the migration. Build new features end-to-end in collaboration with product managers and designers. Improve testing practices and ideally bring TDD into the team's workflow. Bring AI capabilities into the patient experience — we're expanding what we do on the platform into the mobile apps. Own the release process and deployment pipeline. Work with our Android team to ensure a coherent experience across platforms. Shape how we build iOS — not just execute tickets. What we're looking for 5+ years of professional iOS development. Solid understanding of architecture patterns — and opinions about what works in practice, not just in theory. Experience across both modern and legacy UI frameworks. Our codebase uses both, and you should be comfortable navigating that. Experience writing tests and ideally bringing TDD practices into a team. Comfortable integrating with backend services. Experience with modular codebases or breaking monoliths into modules. Experience improving and refactoring production codebases — not just greenfield projects. University degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience. Who you are You see tech debt as an opportunity, not a chore. You enjoy the work of making things better. You're senior enough to drive work independently, suggest improvements, and push back when needed — but you're not looking to be the lead. You want to build, not manage. You care about craft: clean code, good tests, thoughtful architecture. But you're also pragmatic about shipping. Tech stack Language - Swift UI SwiftUI, UIKit Architecture - MVVM, Combine, Clean Architecture (evolving) Testing - XCTest, UI testing CI/CD - GitHub Actions, App Store Connect Backend integration - REST APIs AI - OpenAI, Anthropic (tooling & platform-wide, expanding to mobile) What we offer Technical ownership. You'll shape how iOS is built here, not just pick up tickets. Direct impact. Small team, millions of patients. Your work is visible immediately. AI-forward environment. We're running LLMs in production today — you'll bring that into the mobile experience. Stable employer. Profitable international healthcare organization, not a runway-burning startup. Collective agreement, 30 days vacation, ITP1 pension, wellness allowance, personal education budget. Practical details Start: As soon as possible. We'll accommodate your notice period. Employment: Permanent, full-time. Six month probation period. Location: On-site, Monday–Thursday at Sveavägen 63, Stockholm. Fridays are flexible. Language: English is our working language in tech. Swedish is a plus for collaborating with clinical and business teams, but not a hard requirement. Work permit: You must already have the right to work in Sweden. We handle recruitment internally — no agencies, no consultants, no external recruiters.

Role Overview 🚀 As a Software Developer in our FPS Foundations team, you'll work almost entirely on backend development (90%+), with occasional, light frontend involvement. The team owns the foundational components and services that the rest of the platform is built on, such as the core frameworks, the user and company data domain, and the APIs and platform services that every other team depends on. Reliability, data integrity and security are central to everything the team delivers. This role is focused on turning business and architectural needs into well-built, maintainable systems: designing clean APIs, evolving long-lived frameworks safely, and helping share knowledge across our internal developer community. You'll also help shape our ways of working and technical direction. You'll join a focused team of engineers working alongside a tech lead, a product manager and an engineering manager in Gothenburg. We are also on a journey to use AI more deliberately in our daily engineering work. We are looking for someone who has practical experience with AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows, or who wants to keep exploring how these tools can help us move faster, improve quality, understand complex codebases, and reduce repetitive work without lowering our engineering standards. Responsibilities 🤘 * Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs and shared frameworks to a high standard. * Evolve and progressively refactor a large, long-lived codebase safely. * Treat non-functional qualities such as reliability, backward compatibility, data integrity, security and performance as high priority. * Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, working with domain experts to keep solutions aligned with the business. * Participate in code reviews and uphold shared coding standards. * Write automated integration and component tests. * Help drive technical decisions, reduce technical debt, and document and share knowledge so critical areas aren't held by one person. Responsibilities 🤘 * Develop backend services and maintain high coding standards. * Contribute to frontend changes using JavaScript and TypeScript when needed. * Collaborate with developers, product owners, UX designers, and other stakeholders. * Participate in code reviews and uphold team coding standards. * Implement automated integration and component tests. * Drive technical strategy, refactor legacy code, and reduce technical debt. * Engage in pair and mob programming sessions to solve the more complex problems together. What are we looking for? 🔎 * Strong experience with Java, SQL, and Spring / Spring Boot. * Solid understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines. * API design and development (REST / OpenAPI). * As this is central to the role, we want someone who cares about clear, well-versioned, dependable interfaces. * Experienced in evaluating trade-offs between solution design, quality, and timeframes. * Comfort working in large, established codebases. * This includes reading unfamiliar code, understanding existing frameworks, and making careful, incremental changes rather than rewriting from scratch. * Practical experience in Domain-Driven Design, including working with domain experts to build well-aligned, maintainable systems. * A collaborative way of working. This means enjoying being in the office with the team as required, working through pair and mob programming when it helps, communicating openly, and constructively challenging ideas. Important, but not essential: * Microservices experience: Most of our work happens within an established platform and its shared frameworks, so we value the judgement to know when a service boundary is worth drawing more than a long list of microservices built. * AI-assisted development: We care more about a learning mindset and curiosity for using AI tools to work better than about existing skillset. * Cloud platforms: We're progressively moving towards GCP, we experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) is preferred. * Asynchronous messaging, pub/sub and system integration, and data-exchange patterns. * Observability and monitoring tooling (e.g. Grafana) and Hibernate. Please note: Our recruitment process will begin in mid-to-late August, once the hiring team has returned from their summer holidays. As Head of Tax, you will have overall responsibility for the Group’s tax agenda, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and risk management while supporting the business in achieving its strategic objectives. You will develop and drive tax processes, provide expert guidance on complex business matters, and ensure alignment with both local and international tax requirements. This is a senior role with a broad scope, combining strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in key tax matters, taking responsibility for key tax filings, tax risk assessments, audits and documentation. Acting as a trusted advisor to the CFO, Finance, Treasury, and business stakeholders, you will provide guidance on commercial arrangements, business transformations, financing structures, and other tax-related matters that impact the Group. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise as well as the ability to work collaboratively, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate complex situations where there may not always be a clear answer. You are comfortable challenging established ways of working, navigate ambiguity, listen to different perspectives, and driving continuous improvement of tax processes and practices to support the long-term success of the business. Key responsibilities Your main responsibilities will include: * Leading the Group Tax function and driving effective tax governance across the Group. * Ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations for Specialty Chemicals entities. * Managing corporate income tax matters, including tax computations and income tax returns for SC entities. * Preparing and filing real estate tax returns for entities. * Managing and supporting tax audits, inquiries, and communication with tax authorities. * Advising the business on tax implications of commercial arrangements and business decisions. * Monitoring and reporting significant tax matters, audits, litigation, and uncertain tax positions to the CFO. * Assessing tax risks related to acquisitions, divestments, mergers, restructurings, internal share transfers, liquidations, and transfers of functions or assets. * Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the Group, and recommending appropriate actions. * Supporting Group Treasury on dividend flows and debt/equity financing structures. * Reviewing and advising on tax provisions. * Ensuring alignment with PETRONAS Group tax policies, governance requirements, and expectations. * Approving relevant tax returns and transfer pricing documentation. * Representing entities in discussions and correspondence with the relevant Tax Agency when required. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a senior tax professional with extensive experience in corporate taxation, tax compliance, tax audits, tax authority interactions and advisory support to the business. You combine deep technical expertise with a pragmatic and commercially minded approach, enabling you to provide clear guidance while supporting business objectives in a compliant and responsible way. You understand that effective tax leadership is about more than identifying risks. It is about helping the business navigate complexity, evaluate alternatives, and find practical solutions that create value while maintaining compliance and strong governance. You are confident in your expertise and comfortable making difficult decisions when required. At the same time, you build credibility through collaboration, sound judgement, and a communication style that fosters trust and constructive dialogue. You know how to influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization and can translate complex tax matters into clear and actionable recommendations. Qualifications and experience We expect that you have: * A university degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. * In-depth knowledge of Swedish and international tax regulations. * At least 10 years of relevant experience within corporate taxation. * Strong expertise in corporate income tax and broader corporate tax matters. * Hands-on experience with tax compliance, tax filings, and reporting processes. * Experience managing tax audits and interacting with tax authorities. * Experience advising businesses on tax implications of commercial arrangements and business decisions. * Experience assessing and managing tax risks in an international business environment. * A solid understanding of transfer pricing and broader corporate tax matters. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable navigating complexity, change, and situations where the answer is not always obvious. You are naturally curious and take a balanced approach to problem-solving, seeking to understand different perspectives before making recommendations. At the same time, you are comfortable challenging established practices and driving improvements when needed. You bring a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, combined with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders through expertise, credibility, and clear communication. What can we offer? This is an opportunity to take a central role in managing tax matters for an international group with strong industrial roots and a close connection to PETRONAS.
