About the Role We are looking for an experienced HIL Development Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) architecture, development, modelling, integration, and system-level debugging. This role is focused on developing and maintaining advanced HIL environments used for vehicle system validation. We are looking for engineers who have experience building and improving HIL test systems – not only executing tests. The ideal candidate has a strong background in real-time simulation, ECU integration, automotive communication, and troubleshooting complex embedded systems. You will work closely with development, verification, and integration teams to secure robust test environments and support the validation of future vehicle technologies. Key Responsibilities HIL Development & Integration (Mandatory) Design, develop, commission, and maintain HIL test rigs and environments. Integrate ECUs, I/O systems, communication interfaces, sensors, and actuators into HIL platforms. System Designer and Functional Lead Engineer Scope of Role This role combines system engineering and functional ownership for an assigned vehicle function or system. The engineer will be responsible for defining requirements, driving cross‑domain alignment, managing supplier deliveries, and ensuring the function works end‑to‑end in the vehicle. About the assignment: A globally experienced technical project lead and field support specialist with a strong background in commercial and technical environments. Responsible for supporting complex product introductions and Pilot Partner operations by securing customer uptime, coordinating stakeholders across the value chain, and providing advanced technical support in the field. Acts as a key link between customers, dealers, distributors and R&D, while driving continuous improvement through feedback, learning and operational insights from real-world customer use. Education Academic degree or relevant work experience, preferably in commercial aftersales or technical disciplines (e.g. engineering). Work experience Experience from the automotive industry in relevant technical or commercial roles. Experience from product development, such as ECU development, component development, system testing, or from commercial aftersales technical roles such as Technical Support, Sales Engineer or Master Technician. Experience from working in a workshop environment with customer vehicles. Experience using software-based diagnostic and troubleshooting tools for trucks or buses. Experience working in international and cross-cultural environments.
