What you'll do: As a member of the CMS Safety Office, you will participate in all safety-related activities at the CMS experimental sites during the Long Shutdown 3, when both the detector and the infrastructure will undergo major upgrades. Our scope is to secure appropriate and efficient test facilities enabling testing, verification, and validation of batteries, power electronics, electric motors and transmission as well as NVH and tires.We are expanding our EMC Lab capabilities, and we’re looking for a Technical Support Engineer who is ready to contribute to building new labs and developing our existing facilities in a growing team. What you'll do In this role, you will support mechanical design by securing effective solutions for dummy parts, bridging parts, and fixtures, while providing technical and mechanical support to stakeholders. You will also assist the test coordinator with rig-related knowledge and detailed understanding of test objects to support test planning. Close collaboration with laboratory personnel is a key part of the role, contributing with practical solutions to improve testbeds and installations. You will support laboratory staff and stakeholders by ensuring safe ways of working, providing guidance on testbed safety, installations, and laboratory procedures. Responsibility for equipment not connected to specific testbeds—such as battery simulators, emulators, and spare parts—is included. You will proactively contribute to laboratory safety by identifying risks, reporting observations, and performing risk assessments as part of daily operations. The role also includes participation in investment projects, contributing to reviews, audits, RFQs, and defining interfaces between test objects and testbeds. You will help ensure that layouts meet requirements related to ways of working, testbed similarity, safety, and ergonomics. In addition, you will contribute to task forces and cross-functional initiatives, supporting continuous improvement across the laboratory environment. In this role you will also support in planning and execution of external testing. What you'll bring • Experience in hardware verification and/or test method development • Hands-on mechanical HW experience from test objects and other laboratory equipment• Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN protocols, and relevant measurement equipment • Ability to fault trace and troubleshoot complex systems involving both hardware and software • High level of safety awareness • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in EMC and EMI, including related test methods • Experience working with hazardous voltage; certification will be required • Valid Swedish driver’s licenseAs a person you are comfortable taking ownership and making independent decisions, with the confidence to act on your own initiative. We are currently looking for a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory and packaging testing activities within a growing R&D environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical laboratory work and wants to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative setting. About the role As a Laboratory Assistant, you will provide essential support to laboratory operations and packaging validation activities.
