Our games run on infrastructure that has to work - at scale, under pressure, with real players on the other end. If you're the kind of engineer who gets quietly annoyed when something could be more reliable, more automated, or more elegant, and then actually goes and fixes it, this might be the right role for you. About the role You'll be a key part of building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers our games. Working closely with our client and backend developers, you'll make sure our services are scalable, secure, and running smoothly - so our game teams can focus on making great games rather than fighting fires. This is a hands-on role. You'll design and own infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, develop microservices, and drive automation across the stack. You'll also work directly with game teams to support releases and live operations - which means you'll need to be comfortable operating across disciplines, not just inside a silo. What you'll be doing • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for our backend services and tools • Deploy and monitor backend services, managing performance and minimising downtime • Develop and maintain scalable microservices to support game functionality and growth • Build, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery • Drive automation across infrastructure to increase speed and reduce manual work • Support game teams with tooling and documentation for releases and live operations What we need from you • Proven hands-on experience as an SRE or DevOps engineer – you will be taking over from our sole responsible and leading the space in the studio. • Strong infrastructure and networking knowledge: DNS, VPCs, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, certificate management, and Kubernetes ingress • IAM and security experience: OAUTH, SAML, and federated identity management in GCP and AWS • Hands-on experience with: Terraform, GKE/EKS, Packer, Git, ArgoCD, Grafana, GCP Monitoring, BigQuery • Experience with CI/CD and development tools: GitHub Actions, Slack, Unity SCM or similar Useful but not required • Strong scripting or programming background - C#, Rust, Python or similar • Experience in game development or the games industry • Familiarity with the specific requirements of AR and VR games • Experience driving security initiatives • Willingness to pick up new tools: Rust, PowerShell, Agones/Open-Match Who you are You are proactive and collaborative - you spot problems before they become incidents and you build solutions that others can use, not just workarounds that only make sense to you. You work well with cross-functional teams and you are comfortable explaining technical decisions to people who are not engineers. You care about doing things properly but you also know when good enough is the right answer. Who we are Resolution Games is a Stockholm-based games studio with a proven track record creating immersive gaming experiences. We got our start in VR and AR and still believe spatial gaming is where the most interesting things are happening - but our work now spans PC, console, and beyond. As players and developers, we have spent years putting our energy into making the most of new platforms: creating positive first experiences for someone stepping into XR for the first time, and building deep, replayable games that keep enthusiasts coming back for more. We are looking for someone who wants a unique opportunity and enjoys collaborating. Someone who wants to be part of a team raising the bar and creating a new set of standards. Our colleagues have can-do attitudes and appreciate a small studio culture. Even though we have grown, we continue to work in small teams, experiment, and tackle complex challenges. We value having every voice heard and seek out diversity, equity, and inclusion in everything we do. We believe in team over the individual, a great mix of freedom with responsibility, and that people should always come before the process. P.S. Employee stock options are available. How we work We are an office-first studio. We think being in the same room makes the work better and the team stronger - and honestly, it shows in what we build. We are flexible on start and finish times, and the occasional work-from-home day is part of life. Sound like you? We will start looking at applicants on a rolling basis from early August, so if you are interested, apply now and we will be in touch then. / Team Resolution Games
What happens when experienced engineers get access to some of the latest agentic development tools, and the mandate to rethink how software is built? We're looking for Experienced software engineers at the Axis Linköping office to find out. If you're a skilled developer who's already pushing the boundaries of agentic engineering and want to do it full-time with a team that shares that drive, this role is for you. Who is your future team? You'll join a team within R&D Software with a clear product mandate: building video management software for both cloud and on-prem use. Our teams work across the stack - from backend services in Go running on Kubernetes and AWS, to full-stack product development - and increasingly leverage agentic development tools as part of how we deliver. We believe developers who already know how to lead, delegate, and review are those who get the most out of agentic development tools. You'll have significant autonomy in choosing tools, workflows, and approaches, and we expect every team member to contribute to shaping how we work, not just what we build. We also expect you to communicate your findings - your learnings should ripple out across the R&D organization. Your role As an Experienced Software Engineer, your job is twofold: deliver high-quality software and continuously push the boundaries of what's possible with agentic engineering. In practice, that means: Designing and building well-structured, testable, and modular software - whether across the full stack or deep in backend services Using agents as a core part of your workflow from the start - not just for code completion, but as a starting point for design, implementation, and testing Evaluating and experimenting with new tools and ways of working Actively communicating findings, failures, and breakthroughs to the wider R&D organization - through demos, write-ups, or lightning talks Taking end-to-end responsibility, from idea through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance You won't just write code; you'll orchestrate agents, review their output, and architect systems designed to be built and maintained within the team. Who are you? You are an experienced software engineer with a strong foundation in building production-quality systems. You've already discovered that agentic coding tools make you significantly more productive, and you're eager to take that further in a team that shares that mindset. More specifically, we believe you have: Several years of experience in software development, with depth in one or more of: full-stack development, backend services, or systems programming (e.g. Go, TypeScript, Rust, or a comparable modern stack) A track record of building software that is well-structured, testable, and maintainable The curiosity to challenge established ways of working and the discipline to measure results rather than follow habits It's a bonus if you also have experience with: Hands-on experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar Video processing technologies such as GStreamer, FFmpeg, or WebRTC Designing and operating scalable backend systems and APIs in the cloud UX/UI design and implementation As a person, you are self-driven and pragmatic. You form your own opinions but stay open to being proven wrong. You're more interested in measuring outcomes than following trends, and you're energized by building something new rather than maintaining the status quo. You don't keep insights to yourself, you get a kick out of explaining what you've figured out, writing it down, and seeing others run with it. YOUR MISSION AT VOI We operate one of the world’s largest connected micromobility fleets, with close to 200,000 vehicles across multiple hardware generations, vehicle models and markets – and we will keep scaling significantly in the coming years. As our fleet grows in scale and complexity, firmware reliability, platform architecture, and operational robustness become increasingly critical to the business. Ultimately, your work ensures that every Voi vehicle feels safe, reliable and effortless to use – even after years of real‑world use, rough weather, and everyday wear and tear. We are now looking for a deeply experienced Staff Embedded Engineer to help lead the next generation of our vehicle and IoT platform. In this highly hands-on technical leadership role you will shape the long‑term embedded platform strategy and architecture, and work across teams, suppliers and partners to make sure our vehicles are consistently reliable. You will, among other things: * Translate rider and operator needs into platform‑level design decisions, ensuring our vehicles are intuitive to use, reliable over years in the field and straightforward for local teams to operate and maintain. * Architect and evolve a large‑scale distributed embedded platform spanning vehicle control systems, battery‑powered IoT devices and multi‑MCU/MPU platforms (including Zephyr / Linux‑capable systems). * Develop and scale platforms capable of hosting multiple ML models on‑edge based on computer vision and other sensors. * Drive the evolution of fleet‑wide OTA infrastructure, remote diagnostics and observability for hundreds of thousands of devices across 100+ cities in Europe. * Lead technical discussions and design reviews with internal teams and external hardware suppliers and manufacturing partners. * Improve resilience and recovery mechanisms for remotely deployed systems, including safe rollback strategies and recovery of bricked devices. * Drive improvements in CAN‑based vehicle communication, power systems, GNSS and geofencing in dense urban environments, and sensor reliability, including Bluetooth and NFC user interactions. * Raise the bar for engineering excellence across embedded and firmware engineering, mentoring others, refining CI/CD, testing and release processes, and introducing best‑in‑class development practices. * Champion the strategic and pragmatic adoption of Generative AI tools to increase engineering effectiveness while protecting code quality and minimising technical debt. WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK You are a hands-on, senior technical leader who thrives at the intersection of firmware, hardware, connectivity and large‑scale operations. You are confident in navigating high complexity, balancing strategic architectural choices with pragmatic delivery, and you enjoy mentoring others and setting engineering standards. You care about the end‑to‑end experience: from how a rider feels stepping onto a scooter, to how easy it is for our operations teams to keep the fleet safe, available and healthy over time. We believe you will bring: * Extensive experience building and operating embedded / firmware systems in real‑world environments at scale (ideally globally distributed connected device fleets). * Strong skills in embedded C/C++ development and low‑power, real‑time embedded systems. * Deep understanding of firmware architecture, hardware / software integration and distributed IoT systems. * Proven experience debugging complex field issues across firmware, hardware, manufacturing and connectivity layers. * Strong experience with embedded communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I²C, UART and BLE. It’s a plus if you have experience with: * STM32‑based or other heterogeneous embedded architectures, and modern RTOS platforms such as Zephyr. * Secure boot, TrustZone, TPMs or other embedded security architectures, as well as Embedded Linux systems. * GNSS, geofencing, sensor fusion or other edge‑processing systems, and battery‑powered devices with a focus on power optimisation. * Operating large, globally distributed IoT fleets across varied connectivity environments, including recovering from real‑world operational failures, factory issues or large‑scale fleet incidents. This role is likely a strong match if you have scaled firmware deployments globally, built systems that remain reliable under unreliable real-world conditions, and driven architecture decisions across multiple hardware generations with a focus on long‑term maintainability and operational visibility. Don’t meet every requirement? If you are excited about this role and our mission, and have relevant, transferable skills, we encourage you to apply – even if you don’t check every box. WHY VOI? Working at Voi is more than just a job; our People Promise includes a personal voyage where you will grow as a professional and be a part of a team and culture that builds something meaningful for society. In addition to this you’ll have the opportunity to: * Join Europe’s #1 micromobility operator * Get “skin in the game” through our employee options programme. * Enjoy unlimited free Voi rides and a dog‑friendly office. * Work together with inspiring, motivated and fun colleagues towards a common goal. * Join the micromobility revolution and be a part of creating sustainable cities made for living, free from noise and pollution.
