Responsibilities In this role, you’ll: * Domain Ownership & Process Design: Act as the strategic owner for specific segments of the GTM lifecycle (e.g., Prospecting, Deal Execution, Specialist Alignment). Conduct systemic audits of existing sales motions to pinpoint bottlenecks, then architect the "to-be" workflows to eliminate non-selling friction. * Requirements Governance (The "What" & "Why"): Author high-fidelity Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), process flowcharts, and User Stories. Define the upstream "Data Contracts," partnering closely with ET leads who own the technical configuration (the "How"). Ensure ET builds exactly what the business needs with zero ambiguity. * Strategic Intake Triage: Utilize the GTM Priority Matrix to evaluate and rank inbound field requests. Actively filter out tactical "noise," trading off field requests against technical debt to ensure engineering resources are focused solely on the highest-ROI drivers. * UAT & Defect Governance: Lead the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) framework for your domain. Execute test scripts, run defect triage (prioritizing bugs vs. enhancements), and manage the Business "Go/No-Go" sign-off. Ensure no feature launches unless it meets the "Field-Ready" standard. * The Closed-Loop Feedback Engine: Partner with Enablement and Data Analytics to track downstream adoption. Monitor system telemetry (e.g., Gong AI trackers, Outreach metrics) to measure behavioral adoption, tying the technical build to quantifiable revenue ROI. * GTM AI Execution: Support the deployment of the GTM AI roadmap. Operationalize Generative AI POCs into daily rep workflows, capturing frontline feedback to iterate and scale. * Cross-Functional Alignment: Maintain strict operational boundaries (RACI) across GTM, ET, and Enablement. Provide the functional blueprints to Enablement to ensure training aligns perfectly with the technical architecture. Qualifications Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table! *Required: * Strategic Mindset with Consulting & Technical Depth: 7+ years of experience within a management consulting firm, enterprise revenue architecture function, or GTM transformation group. You bring a rare combination of a high-level strategic mindset - capable of deconstructing complex business challenges from first principles - and a strong technical background, allowing you to confidently navigate abstract corporate strategy and translate it into disciplined systems architecture. * The "Technical Translator": Exceptional ability to simplify complex technical concepts for GTM stakeholders, while simultaneously translating vague business "wants" into precise technical "needs" for ET engineers. * Systems Fluency: Deep expertise in the Salesforce ecosystem and integrated GTM tools (e.g., Gong, Outreach). You don't need to write the code, but you must thoroughly understand object relationships, data schemas, and API limitations to design feasible business logic. * Think Like a Seller: Proven ability to empathize with the Field. You understand sales psychology and how to design systems that maximize rep productivity and minimize administrative tax. * Process Rigor: Deep experience building structured artifacts (BRDs, process mapping, executive-level decks). * The "Driver" Persona: You don't wait for permission. You identify friction, get people aligned, build a business case for a solution, and see it through to execution without letting standard processes fall through the cracks. * Scale Mindset: You build for where the Twilio Revenue Engine will be in 2 years, not just patching the problems of today. Location This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA. Travel We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings. What We Offer Working at Twilio offers many benefits, including competitive pay, generous time off, ample parental and wellness leave, healthcare, a retirement savings program, and much more. Offerings vary by location. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next. ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for a Forward-Deployed Engineer to join our Professional Services team. This is not a traditional consulting role—you will embed directly with our most strategic enterprise customers to drive transformational outcomes across frontend modernization, platform migrations, and AI adoption. In this role, you will lead complex Next.js migrations, architect high-performance applications, and build production AI solutions—all within customer environments. You'll work hands-on-keyboard alongside customer teams, whether you're migrating a legacy React application to App Router, conducting a deep-dive code audit, or deploying production agents using Vercel's AI SDK. You will be equally comfortable leading a technical discovery session with engineering leadership as you are refactoring a complex rendering strategy or optimizing an agentic workflow. Our Forward-Deployed Engineers operate with high agency and autonomy. You'll navigate ambiguous enterprise environments, assess technical debt, design migration strategies, and deliver measurable business value—all while building long-term relationships that expand our partnership with each customer. You will report to the Director of Professional Services and will be remote-first with significant travel (25-40%) to customer sites for embedded engagements. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Lead complex frontend migrations—modernizing legacy React, Vue, or other frameworks to Next.js, including Pages to App Router transitions, incremental adoption strategies, and large-scale codebase transformations. 2. Conduct technical assessments and code audits, analyzing customer codebases for performance bottlenecks, architectural anti-patterns, and optimization opportunities—delivering actionable roadmaps that drive measurable improvements. 3. Architect and implement high-performance Next.js applications, leveraging App Router, Server Components, streaming, ISR, edge functions, and advanced rendering strategies to meet enterprise scale and performance requirements. 4. Optimize Core Web Vitals and application performance, using tools like Vercel Speed Insights to diagnose issues and implement fixes that improve SEO, conversion rates, and user experience. 5. Build production AI solutions using Vercel's AI SDK and AI Cloud—including conversational interfaces, production agents, MCP servers, and agentic workflows that transform customer operations. 6. Embed with strategic customers to build production applications—working within their systems, understanding their constraints, and shipping TypeScript code that goes live. 7. Drive enablement and knowledge transfer through workshops, pair programming, and documentation—ensuring customer teams can extend and maintain solutions independently. 8. Navigate complex enterprise environments by building relationships with stakeholders across engineering, product, and executive teams—translating technical capabilities into business outcomes. 9. Participate in pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise during discovery calls, scoping sessions, and proposal development for migrations, audits, and AI transformation engagements. 10. Contribute to our service evolution by identifying repeatable patterns, building reusable components, and sharing implementation insights back to Product and Engineering teams. ABOUT YOU: * 5+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 2 years in a customer-facing technical role (consulting, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical founder experience). * Expert-level TypeScript skills—this is your primary language. You write production TypeScript daily and have strong opinions on type safety, patterns, and tooling. * Deep expertise in Next.js, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering complex applications using App Router, Server Components, server-side rendering (SSR), static generation (SSG), incremental static regeneration (ISR), and edge functions. * Demonstrated experience leading frontend migrations—you've modernized legacy applications to Next.js, navigated incremental adoption strategies, and understand the challenges of migrating large codebases in production environments. * Mastery of React and its ecosystem, including advanced state management, performance optimization, and modern patterns like streaming, suspense, and concurrent features. * Production experience with LLMs and AI applications, including prompt engineering, agent development, and tool use patterns. Familiarity with Vercel's AI SDK is strongly preferred. * High agency with comfort in ambiguity—you thrive when given a problem to solve rather than a task to complete, and you can navigate complex organizations to drive outcomes. * Exceptional communication skills with the ability to conduct technical discovery, present to executives, mentor engineers, and build lasting customer relationships—all with a low-ego, collaborative approach. * Business acumen to understand customer objectives, translate technical capabilities into ROI, and identify expansion opportunities throughout engagement lifecycles. * Willingness to travel 25-40% to customer sites for embedded work and relationship building. BONUS IF YOU: * Have led large-scale migrations from legacy frameworks (Create React App, Gatsby, custom webpack setups) to Next.js in enterprise environments. * Have expertise in performance optimization and Core Web Vitals, with experience diagnosing and fixing LCP, CLS, and INP issues at scale. * Have experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), building MCP servers, or implementing complex tool-use patterns in production AI applications. * Have led enterprise AI transformation initiatives, including building production agents that automated manual processes or replaced legacy systems. * Have worked with micro-frontends, module federation, or multi-team frontend architectures. * Have contributed to the Next.js, React, or AI SDK open-source projects, or maintain popular related libraries. * Have experience with enterprise deployment patterns including security reviews, compliance requirements, and multi-region architectures. * Have a background in financial services, healthcare, retail/e-commerce, or media—industries with complex frontend ecosystems and growing AI adoption. * Have spoken at conferences or published thought leadership on frontend architecture, migrations, or AI applications. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in. AVAILABLE LOCATIONS * Austin, US * New York, US * San Francisco, US RESPONSIBILITIES * Cloudflare is growing our People team. Our focus is finding the best people to work at Cloudflare and then allowing them to do their best work. As we continue to scale our global organization, we are looking for a trusted Business Partner who is naturally curious about our technology, deeply invested in our business strategy, and driven to help our people thrive. * In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, People Team Business Partners and serve as a heavy-hitting strategic partner to our senior leadership across Product, Engineering and Security. * You won't just execute HR programs; you will actively architect them. You will focus on macro-level organizational design, sophisticated talent management strategies, systemic change leadership, and workforce planning that aligns directly with our aggressive business goals. Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Cloudflarians thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. You will bring critical thought, deep business acumen, and a strong point of view to help our leaders navigate this unrelenting pace, transforming potential friction into high-impact execution. * Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to R&D executive leadership, translating business objectives into long-term workforce strategies, organizational designs, and succession plans. * Insight-Driven Problem Solving: Synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative data—leveraging AI-driven insights and engagement analytics—to proactively identify trends, mitigate risks, and design predictive people solutions. * Change Leadership: Guide leadership and teams through structural evolutions, hyper-growth scaling, and shifting business priorities with minimal disruption to engagement and output. * Talent & Capability Building: Partner with business leaders and People team Centers of Excellence (COEs) to design high-impact initiatives around talent development, performance elevation, and total rewards. DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE * Motivated by cultivating high-performance culture, building great businesses, and helping people do their best work, you are a seasoned, consultative People leader. You don't just adapt to the future of work—you actively leverage modern tools and a relentless curiosity to shape it. * Experienced & Proven: You have 12+ years of progressive experience on a People/HR team, with at least 3+ years operating as a principal business partner backing complex, fast-paced corporate functions. * Business-First Strategist: You possess keen business acumen and effortlessly link HR strategy to commercial and operational outcomes. You think like a business leader who happens to specialize in people, always looking for ways to enable teams to hit their goals. * Relentlessly Curious: You possess an innate curiosity about what we build, how our teams operate, and what makes our people tick. You dive deep into the data and the dynamics of your organizations to diagnose root causes rather than just treating symptoms. * AI & Tech Savvy: You embrace modern innovation, utilizing AI and advanced digital tooling as strategic force multipliers. You leverage AI to enhance your personal productivity, streamline operational efficiency, and uncover data-driven insights that solve complex organizational challenges. (And yes, you still secretly love a sophisticated spreadsheet!) * Architect of Change: You have a proven track record of leading large-scale change initiatives through highly ambiguous environments. You know what organizational complexity looks like and possess the resilience and resourcefulness to drive ideation into concrete action. * Program Builder: You have built scalable, enterprise-grade programs from the ground up and have a demonstrated history of establishing immediate credibility and trust across all levels of a distributed, virtual organization. * Empathic Influencer & Communicator: You lead with empathy but do not shy away from radical candor. You are a masterful communicator—whether presenting to executives, writing strategic proposals, or delivering difficult feedback face-to-face. * High Integrity: Uncompromising when it comes to your ethics, you speak truth to power, act with deep respect, and lead with dignity.
