As an Attribute Leader within Ride & Handling, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the driving character of our vehicles. You will act as the technical authority for chassis behavior, ensuring a consistent and premium brand feel across different road conditions and driving scenarios. This is a senior engineering role where you will translate technical solutions into a cohesive driving experience, balancing comfort, control, and performance. You will work cross-functionally and play a key role in guiding both development and decision-making throughout the vehicle program. What You'll Do * Define target setting for ride & handling, including steering feel, ride comfort, body control, and overall vehicle balance * Perform and lead subjective vehicle assessments (VSR), evaluating steering feedback, stability, and vibration isolation * Lead tuning and calibration activities for chassis systems, including dampers, bushings, suspension kinematics, and EPAS * Ensure system integration across tires, suspension, and braking systems to achieve stable and predictable vehicle dynamics * Drive validation and verification through simulation (MBS) and physical testing at proving grounds * Monitor attribute performance and report status to project management across key development milestones * Provide technical recommendations and decision support during program gates and trade-off discussions * Identify risks and potential conflicts impacting ride & handling targets, and drive mitigation actions * Maintain documentation, performance tracking, and clear visualization of attribute development progress Who You Are: * Minimum 8 years of experience within Ride & Handling, vehicle dynamics, or chassis development * Proven experience working with attribute ownership, target setting, or leading chassis development activities * Strong understanding of suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, and overall vehicle behavior * Solid experience from vehicle testing, subjective assessment, and calibration work * Experience working with simulation tools (e.g. MBS) and correlating simulation with physical testing * Ability to balance technical trade-offs between comfort, performance, and cost within a project context * Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to stakeholders * Experience working in cross-functional and international engineering environments * Structured and analytical mindset, combined with a hands-on approach to problem solving * Fluent in English, both spoken and written * Valid driver’s license Additional Information The role includes travel as part of vehicle development and testing activities: * China: approximately 6–8 trips per year (2–3 weeks each) * Europe: approximately 2 trips per year * Sweden: winter testing in Northern Sweden, as well as testing at local facilities such as Hällered and Säve Why should you join us? YOUR MISSION AT VOI As a Mechanical Engineer in Voi’s Vehicle HW team, you will play a key role in developing the next generations of our vehicles - from setting requirements and guiding and reviewing suppliers’ end-to-end work including concept design, testing and industrialisation. You will safeguard that the hardware we bring to market is high performing i.e. safe , reliable, great UX, easily repairable and built for scale, together with colleagues across R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and our markets. In this role you will: * Lead the end-to-end co-development of next-generation vehicle hardware in close collaboration with suppliers and Voi teams * Define engineering requirements and specifications, provide feedback on concepts and designs, and review supplier test plans and reports to ensure solutions meet Voi’s performance, reliability and repairability targets. * Support root cause analysis, and work with suppliers and internal teams to develop robust mitigation and resolution actions - feeding learnings into future hardware generations. * Design new add-ons and variants in-house, taking full ownership from requirements and drive the project end-to-end including CAD design, sample evaluation, testing, verification and industrialisation. * Work hands-on with sample builds and mass produced vehicles to assess, design improvements across multiple dimensions including serviceability, UX and operational handling in our workshops and markets. * Travel regularly (approximately quarterly) to China for a few weeks at a time, as well as to Voi markets in Europe, to work closely with suppliers and support in-field issues. Description Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) is a technology that allows electric vehicles (EVs) to not only draw power from the grid for charging but also feed stored energy back to the grid, supporting energy balance, grid stability, and renewable integration. V2G promises valuable grid services, but the gap between theoretical control concepts and actual hardware performance is not fully explored. The main objective of this thesis is to experimentally evaluate a V2G system under realistic operating conditions. An advanced real-time simulation hardware platform will be employed in this thesis project, serving as both the control system and the digital model of the grid and vehicle-side systems. Such a platform represents an intermediate step between offline simulation and real vehicle operation. Execution Step 1 – Experimental setup * Set up and configure the real-time simulation hardware and software platform. * Operate the system to demonstrate stable bidirectional charging in the lab. * Perform experimental validation to confirm successful commissioning and reliable system operation. Step 2 – Experimental operation * Define and implement selected existing V2G bidirectional charging strategies. * Evaluate the performance of these strategies by analyzing how the system tracks applied charge/discharge power commands (steps, ramps, and realistic profiles). * Quantify system efficiency and losses, including round-trip efficiency, standby losses, and operational stability limits. Expected outcome The thesis will deliver a validated experimental setup along with quantitative evaluation of system capabilities and limitations. Required skills * Basic control systems and power electronics * MATLAB/Simulink modeling * Hands-on lab work and data analysis * Interest in real-time systems and experimentation. Experience with dSpace is very meriting. Personal interest in real-time control and energy system simulation is considered a merit. The work will be carried out in Gothenburg. Your mission at Voi As part of our Street Patrol Team, you will be out on the streets making sure that our scooters are ready for use in a user- and environment-friendly way. As an AI Engineer, you will work closely with domain experts across areas such as vehicle dynamics, energy management and intelligent drive, turning ideas into working prototypes and evidence-based feasibility assessments. This is not a traditional model development role. You will focus on understanding the core problem, validating whether AI is the right approach, and assessing if it creates meaningful value compared to existing solutions. You will play a key role in shaping which ideas move forward and why. What You'll Do * Work closely with domain experts to identify high-impact problems where AI can add value * Translate unclear ideas into structured problem statements, hypotheses and evaluation criteria * Design and build rapid prototypes using real or representative data (e.g. vehicle logs, simulations) * Define and evaluate KPIs linked to value creation (performance, efficiency, robustness, cost) * Benchmark solutions against baseline systems, alternative approaches and state-of-the-art methods * Assess feasibility beyond model performance, including data readiness, system constraints and integration complexity * Focus on the most critical unknowns early, avoiding over-engineering * Translate findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations (go / refine / stop) * Contribute to team development, ways of working and mentoring where relevant Who You Are: We believe you enjoy working in early-phase development, where clarity is created through exploration rather than given upfront. You likely have: * A degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or similar * Several years of experience in applied AI/ML, prototyping, or technical concept development * Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow * Experience working with domain experts and translating engineering context into AI approaches And you have a proven ability to: * Move from unclear ideas → structured problem → prototype → recommendation * Design meaningful experiments and evaluate trade-offs beyond model accuracy * Identify the core problem behind a request * Assess whether AI is the right solution, or if a simpler approach is better * Communicate insights in a clear and structured way Nice to have: * Experience from automotive, robotics, energy, or other engineering-heavy domains * Familiarity with vehicle systems, control, simulation or time-series data * Experience working with hybrid approaches (AI + rules / optimization / physics-based models) * Exposure to early-stage product or concept development environments * Experience with cloud platforms or scalable experimentation environments Why should you join us?
