The objective is to link reliability-based research to practically applicable decision-support tools for infrastructure managers and public authorities.   The work is closely linked to research in bridge monitoring, condition assessment, and data-driven infrastructure management. Data from case studies (inspections, monitoring, and experimental tests) are used for model updating, calibration of safety formats, and prediction of future performance and remaining service life.   Duties   You will conduct research with strong methodological and applied components, leading to publications in peer-reviewed international journals and presentations at major conferences.   Your work will include: Develop semi-probabilistic and probabilistic frameworks for the assessment of existing infrastructure under climate impact Integrate time-dependent deterioration models with climate projections Update models using monitoring and inspection data Calibrate and compare safety formats Translate analytical results into decision-support tools Contribute to supervision, teaching, and research proposals   Qualifications   To be eligible for this postdoctoral position, you must hold a PhD in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, with specialization in structural reliability, probabilistic methods, infrastructure assessment, or durability. ABOUT THE ROLE X Shore is rebuilding operations and product development under new ownership. We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineering & Analysis Manager to lead the structural and mechanical integrity of our electric boats — ensuring that every hull, component, and assembly that leaves Nyköping is designed right, validated correctly, and built to last. This is a leadership role with deep technical ownership. You will guide a small engineering team, drive analysis and simulation work, and be the person who signs off that our mechanical solutions are both safe and manufacturable. The role is based on-site at our office and production facility in Nyköping. ROLE PURPOSE Own the mechanical engineering function — from concept validation and structural analysis through to production release — ensuring that X Shore boats are designed to specification, analysed to standard, and handed to production with complete and correct documentation. By combining high-fidelity simulations with experimental testing of lab-scale components, our research will generate new data, validate predictive models, and establish improved defect acceptance criteria. The outcome will be a practical, industry-ready methodology that enables safer, more cost-efficient decisions when dealing with defects in composite components. The project will involve collaborations and secondments (in total 8 months during the first three years) at University of Kore (2 months) and Leonardo S.p.A. (6 months) in Italy. NCC Green Industry Transformation – Project in Gällivare Sweden is facing a historic transformation as industry shifts toward a more sustainable future. In northern Sweden, some of the largest industrial investments of modern times are currently underway, and we are now looking for a Steel Site Manager who wants to play a key role in one of our complex projects. In close collaboration with LKAB, NCC is delivering one of the region’s most significant projects: the construction of the new beneficiation plant in Vitåfors, Gällivare. To lead the delivery of a major substation construction project supporting a large-scale data centre development in Sweden. The department operates in a parallel-language working environment. The Senior Lecturer will be able to perform most of their duties in English. However, as a public authority, the university is required under the Language Act to use Swedish as its principal language, and the appointee is therefore expected to acquire sufficient proficiency in Swedish to communicate effectively within four years of taking up the position. The department will provide support to enable the appointee to achieve this.   Eligibility The applicant must meet the following qualification requirements: research expertise in the subject area teaching expertise and ability to integrate research and a scientific approach into teaching excellent proficiency in English.
