About Electricity Maps Electricity Maps is a VC-backed climate and energy tech start-up building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. We provide real-time, historical, and forecasted data on electricity systems worldwide - covering generation mix, electricity prices, carbon intensity, and renewable share. Our data powers decisions across sustainability and energy markets: from companies like Google and Cisco optimising compute workloads and reporting emissions, to energy market participants using our forecasts to inform trading strategies and asset optimisation. We're a small, technical team based in Copenhagen, working at the intersection of energy, AI, climate change, and data. About the role You'll work in the product team responsible for exposing our data to the world and you will help people and companies consume our data: Via our API, our map or whatever makes sense next. We believe in engineers owning product decisions. Engineers scope the problem, build it and evolve it based on feedback from customers, colleagues and users. Those decisions usually aren't mapped out before you start on them so you're figuring out the shape of the problem and the best solution as you unpack it. You'll be part of a small engineering team with 3 other full-stack engineers. No two days look the same. Most of your energy goes into building and figuring out solutions, with bug fixes and other tasks mixed in. What you'll do Build and ship across the stack (we’re using TypeScript for 95% of the product surface). Own the systems that touch customers directly, from how we onboard, guide and support them to how we serve data in the API they integrate with. Decide what to build in collaboration with leadership, sales, marketing and data teams. Care about your solutions being actually used and understand what matters to our users: dig deeper in analytics, join commercial conversations, be curious. Push on new ways customers can interact with our data. Maybe new API capabilities, new functionality in the map or something else. Dig into bugs and edge cases. What you won't do Ship something and never find out if anyone uses it. Wait around for permission to fix something you can see is broken. Spend more time in alignment meetings than building. What we're looking for 6+ years of hands-on experience shipping full-stack features in production and scaling them. Early-stage tech company / product experience. Product mindset, meaning that you build with the user in mind and have strong, defensible opinions on what "good" looks like; in code, in product, in process. Comfortable with data-heavy products, where edge cases and correctness can play a big part. Founder mentality, meaning that you are excited about building new products and taking them from an early stage to something users rely on. You spend time across the organization to deepen your knowledge and learn how users interact with the product to build things that are used. Our stack Relevant to this role: TypeScript, Node.js, React, GCP. The ideal candidate has worked in or close to these systems. The details Location: Copenhagen (office first, with flexibility) Type: Full-time Compensation: Competitive salary + stock options Benefits: 6 weeks vacation, health insurance, annual company offsite, lunch and snacks at the office

We're a small, technical team based in Copenhagen, working at the intersection of energy, AI, climate change, and data. Position Overview Electricity Maps is looking for a part-time student position to support the Business Operations function. This role provides hands-on exposure to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, commercial operations, billing, and Go-To-Market (GTM) reporting at a climate tech company, working closely with and reporting to our Business Operations Analyst. It's a good fit for someone detail-oriented who wants practical, cross-functional experience in how a startup's commercial and product operations actually run day-to-day. Because the workload spans several different areas, you should be comfortable switching between tasks and picking things up quickly. Key Responsibilities CRM Data & Improvements Support CRM data entry and hygiene: imports of data, record clean-up, and deduplication. We use Hubspot. Support CRM improvements: setting up new properties, adjusting views, testing new features, and helping the GTM team with questions or building reports. Customer & Billing Operations Handle day-to-day Intercom support messages: triaging and responding to routine/tier-1 customer questions, escalating complex issues where needed. Execute invoicing for closed won deals: generating invoices, sending them to customers, and tracking payment. Support customer onboarding in admin-tooling by creating correct API access tokens. Reporting & Testing Support Help prepare recurring reporting for GTM meetings by pulling data and populating templates ahead of review. Support testing of new GTM or product initiatives as they go live. Systems Support Support debugging of automation errors (e.g., in n8n workflows, Clay tooling, etc.) under guidance. Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and how-to documentation in Notion for GTM processes, keeping team knowledge accessible and up to date. Qualifications When reading the requirements, please note that we don't expect you to tick every box. You will be onboarded and guided through these tasks. What matters most is that you bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an open mindset. Required Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program (e.g., business, economics, data, or similar) with at least one year left of studies. Comfortable learning new software tools quickly and working with complex spreadsheets (VLOOKUPs, importing data, and conditional formatting). Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable with recurring/repetitive tasks. Enjoys taking initiative and is confident in taking on new tasks proactively. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Available part-time on an ongoing basis alongside studies. Preferred Prior exposure to a CRM system (HubSpot or similar). Interest in startups and/or climate tech. Basic familiarity with no-code/automation tools (e.g., n8n, Clay, AI tools) is a plus, but not required. Logistics Employment type: part-time working student position (10-15 hours a week). Reporting line: reports to Business Operations Analyst. Location: The role is in-office. We are located on Bragesgade (near Nørrebro Station), Copenhagen.
About Electricity Maps Electricity Maps is a VC-backed climate and energy tech start-up building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. About the role The Electricity Maps API is our core commercial product - it's what companies rely on to make decisions about energy consumption or buying, emissions reporting, and grid-aware operations. Alongside it, our free map has become a reference point for the energy world. It's pulled up by the biggest news outlets covering energy stories, presented on stage at industry conferences worldwide, and used daily by traders reading the grid. It's often where commercial conversations start. You'll think about everything that shapes the API, including both the API used by our commercial customers and the API that powers our free product. This means working on caching and data sourcing, application performance (what happens when one user hits the same query 1,000 times), our user database, the admin interface that controls API access, and the third-party integrations that keep our commercial tools in sync with the product. You'll work closely with the commercial and data teams, and take shared ownership of system design and long-term technical health, including the messy bits: bugs, edge cases, and tradeoffs between velocity and quality. What You'll Do Own backend architecture and evolution across the API and app - from data flow to performance to new features Manage how data moves from our databases into the product (caching, sourcing, etc.) Monitor and improve application performance, including edge cases like repeated heavy queries from a single user Own our user database and the admin interface that manages who has access to the API Build the backend support for new customer-facing features Maintain our third-party data integrations (HubSpot, PostHog, and similar) Hunt down and fix bugs tied to data or code quality What We're Looking For Senior, production backend experience end-to-end, including databases, caching, performance monitoring, admin tooling, and not just API endpoints Strong taste in API design - you know what good looks like and why Enough experience with APIs to spot problems early and suggest fixes that balance robustness, speed, and pragmatism You care about the people using what you build, and it bothers you when something isn't working right You are energized by shipping fast. A well-tested fix now that is refined later as we learn more You are excited about working somewhere things aren't always fully defined yet You have been part of an early-stage company before and helped shape its technical direction Our Stack: TypeScript-first, Linux environment, running in Google Cloud. We value engineers who can reason across languages and tools. The details Location: Copenhagen (Office first with flexibility) Type: Full-time Compensation: Competitive salary + stock options Benefits: 6 weeks vacation, health insurance, annual company offsite, lunch and free snacks/drinks at the office.
