SHAPE THE FUTURE OF INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS WITH FALKOR At Falkor, we’re building technology that helps industrial companies understand, optimise and operate complex assets more intelligently. We combine deep industrial domain expertise with advanced simulation, software and AI to solve some of the toughest challenges in energy and industrial operations. We’re now looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join our Energy Simulation team in Fornebu or Horten. This role offers the opportunity to apply your process or operational experience to complex simulation projects, work directly with customers and take technical responsibility for simulator deliveries. THE ROLE You’ll work with our dynamic process and flow simulators, K-Spice® and LedaFlow®, helping customers model, understand and optimise complex industrial processes. Our technology is used across the energy industry for engineering studies, design verification, virtual commissioning, operator training, real-time production monitoring and flow assurance. It also supports Falkor’s Digital Twin solutions and applications including CO₂ capture, transportation and storage. You’ll join a global team building full-scale dynamic process simulators, operating at the intersection of process engineering, industrial operations and technology. You’ll use your experience to develop effective technical solutions and take ownership of complete or significant elements of simulator deliveries. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Build, configure, validate and run dynamic process simulation models. * Integrate dynamic models with industrial control systems. * Prepare and deliver simulators for engineering testing, design verification, virtual commissioning and operator training. * Work directly with customers and other stakeholders to understand their operations and technical challenges. * Translate process and operational requirements into effective simulation solutions. * Provide technical advice based on your understanding of industrial processing facilities. * Take technical ownership of complete simulator deliveries or major work packages. * Coordinate technical activities across process, control and software disciplines. * Support technical reviews, testing, troubleshooting and customer acceptance activities. * Improve simulator-building processes, tools and engineering practices. * Contribute to the development and improvement of our simulation technology and software products. * Share knowledge and support the development of less-experienced engineers. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * A BSc or MSc in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. * Professional experience in process engineering, process operations, industrial automation, dynamic simulation or a related environment. * A strong understanding of industrial processes and processing facilities. * The ability to structure and solve complex technical problems. * Experience working with customers or other technical stakeholders. * The confidence to take ownership of technical deliverables. * A collaborative, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach. * The ability to work effectively across engineering and software disciplines. * Fluency in English and Norwegian or another Scandinavian language. * Flexibility to travel to customer sites when required. Previous experience as a process operator would be highly advantageous. First-hand knowledge of how industrial processing facilities operate can provide valuable practical insight when developing simulations, advising customers and addressing real-world operational challenges. Experience with dynamic process simulation, industrial control systems, energy operations or similar industrial environments would also be valuable. Interest or experience in Python programming, digitalisation, industrial AI, energy-transition technologies or CO₂ capture, transportation and storage is an advantage. WHY FALKOR? Industrial companies generate enormous amounts of data, but turning that data into better decisions remains a complex challenge. At Falkor, you’ll apply your engineering and operational knowledge to technology designed for the realities of industrial operations. You’ll help customers understand complex systems, test decisions before putting them into practice, train operators safely and operate assets more effectively. You’ll work alongside engineers, software specialists and industry experts in an environment where deep domain expertise meets advanced technology. As the team grows, you’ll have the opportunity to take greater technical ownership and help shape how we approach increasingly complex customer challenges. APPLICATION PROCESS Send us your CV and tell us why you’re interested in joining Falkor. Please also upload your diploma and/or other relevant documentation under Additional files. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES MAKE BETTER TECHNOLOGY The problems we’re solving are complex, and we believe solving them requires different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking. We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where people are valued, respected and able to contribute at their best. We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds and experiences. RECRUITMENT AGENCIES Falkor occasionally partners with recruitment agencies for specific roles. We work with a limited number of preferred suppliers under agreed terms and processes. We therefore cannot accept responsibility for unsolicited candidate submissions or associated fees unless terms have been agreed with our Procurement team in advance. Main changes: the graduate version now emphasises foundations, learning, supported development and progressively increasing responsibility. The experienced version places greater weight on customer advisory work, operational insight, technical ownership, cross-disciplinary coordination and complete simulator deliveries.
