About Us
At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks
that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune
500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software,
or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global
network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in
spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s
Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.
At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in
the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized"
problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI
to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the
team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving
tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.
This is an invitation to redefine workforce architecture for the AI era. Cloudflare is reimagining every internal process, from
engineering to finance to sales, to run on an agentic AI backbone. We are building the global teams and talent ecosystems that
will define what Cloudflare looks like for the next decade of the Internet. Getting top talent here is our number priority.
As our Vice President of Talent Acquisition & Strategy, you will be the chief architect of our human capital infrastructure and
lead a global team of customer obsessed recruiters and operators. You will design a predictive, highly automated talent system—one
that maps company growth to workforce requirements, isolates where human judgment is irreplaceable, and deploys AI agents to
handle the repetitive mechanics. We are looking for a visionary leader and highly operational leader whose instinct isn’t to
simply deploy a traditional recruiting playbook, but to model the organizational system, identify the core constraints, and ship
elegant, scalable solutions.
Cloudflare’s internal AI agent usage has increased exponentially, with our teams running thousands of daily agent sessions to
build, ship, and scale products. This is our default operating rhythm.
Our talent acquisition strategy reflects this modern architecture. In the agentic AI era, you will lead the function that answers
the ultimate organizational question: how do we optimize for the roles that require uniquely human capabilities?
You will focus our human hiring pipelines on where human capital matters most: deep creative judgment, complex systems
problem-solving, and intense relationship depth. Every talent strategy you implement is a high-impact design choice for
Cloudflare’s future organizational capacity.

Available Locations * Austin, TX * San Francisco, CA * New York, NY About the Role The Finance & BizOps team provides the financial insights and strategic guidance to shape Cloudflare's growth, profitability, and investment strategy. We're partners who embed across the business — connecting strategy to execution, driving planning and analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to develop and deliver key priorities. We're looking for a seasoned, dynamic senior leader to join this team as the dedicated finance partner to the Developer GTM organization, providing the financial clarity and commercial judgment the business needs to succeed. The Developer Platform is one of Cloudflare's fastest-growing businesses, spanning compute, storage, AI inference, media, and a growing ecosystem of developer tools — delivered through both self-serve and enterprise go-to-market motions, all with distinct commercial models, cost structures, and growth levers. This role is for someone who thrives in that complexity: someone who can work independently across ambiguous problems, build the analysis and frameworks needed, and turn them into recommendations business leaders can act on. You'll work across functions — inside and outside of finance — to ensure the platform has coherent financial coverage as it scales. You'll define and build the models, the cadence, and the relationships, using AI-native tooling as a force multiplier on speed, rigor, and insight — becoming the first call when the business is thinking through a deal, a bet, or a difficult tradeoff. This role reports to the VP of Finance & BizOps. Responsibilities * Forecasting and planning: Own the developer platform and self-serve revenue forecasts — connecting usage trends, contracted commitments, and deployment activity to revenue outcomes and maintaining a forward view the business plans around. Drive annual and quarterly planning for the developer business, including target-setting, scenario analysis, and resource allocation. * Commercial strategy and deal evaluation: Support deal evaluation for strategic transactions — assessing deal structure, payment terms, and margin implications. Work with the Pricing team, Deal Desk, and cross-functional partners to develop reusable frameworks for consumption-based and hybrid deal structures. Provide the financial perspective on go/no-go decisions and partnership economics. * Product economics and insights: Develop deep visibility into the developer business at meaningful layers of granularity — across products, revenue streams, usage patterns, and cost structures. Partner with R&D Finance and infrastructure teams to connect product economics to commercial outcomes, and surface the insights that help the business make better decisions about where to invest and how to grow. * Executive reporting and storytelling: Serve as the financial voice of the developer platform to senior leadership — translating complex business performance into clear, narrative-driven perspectives that shape executive discussions and planning. * Financial stewardship and reporting: Drive monthly close, forecast, and variance analysis. Own budget management and financial stewardship for the developer business. Understand trends deeply and surface risks and opportunities proactively — the business changes direction fast and finance needs to be ahead of it, not catching up. Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience * 10+ years of progressive finance experience in investment banking, private equity, FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar highly analytical role, coupled with operational experience at a fast-paced, scaling company. High-growth, public-company SaaS or cloud infrastructure experience preferred. * Intellectually curious and AI-native. You apply first-principles logic to multi-faceted problems, are not satisfied with easy or convenient answers, and actively incorporate AI tooling into your workflows to accelerate analysis and improve decision-making. We are building an AI-forward organization and the right candidate sees AI as a partner, not a threat. * A builder mindset. You are energized by ambiguity, take ownership of problems before being asked, and are comfortable operating with blurred lines of ownership. * Operating experience as an embedded finance partner to a senior GTM or business leader (VP+) in a technology company. You shaped commercial decisions, not just forecasted them. * Strong fluency in consumption-based revenue mechanics, cloud and AI infrastructure economics, and pricing strategy — with the ability to work credibly across technical and commercial teams and build financial models from scratch for new and evolving business lines. * Clear, direct communication with an outstanding ability to turn numbers into narratives that influence senior leaders. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. * For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $239,000 - $329,000 * For New York City area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $229,000 - $315,000 Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan. ABOUT THE ROLE Cloudflare is looking for a Director of Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to serve as a key leader on our Investor Relations team and a trusted partner to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership. This role reports to the VP of Strategic Finance, Treasury, Deal Desk, & Investor Relations and is the engine room of how Cloudflare tells its financial story to the public markets — translating one of the most differentiated technology platforms in the world into a clear, credible, and compelling investment narrative. You will own the end-to-end quarterly earnings cycle, drive our long-term financial model and consensus discipline, partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership on guidance, and lead the analytical and communications work behind every major investor and analyst touchpoint — quarterly calls, conferences, our annual Investor Day, and ad-hoc executive projects. You will be the connective tissue between Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, Product, Sales, and the executive team, and the person who makes sure every number, every claim, and every word we put in front of Wall Street is accurate. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role on a very lean IR team. We move fast, we ship work that goes directly to the CEO, CFO, Board, and public markets, and we hold ourselves to an exceptionally high bar on accuracy — and we are AI-native in how we work, treating modern tooling as a force multiplier on insight, productivity, and rigor. WHAT YOU’LL DO As the Director, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations, you will be the operational and analytical lead for Cloudflare's engagement with the public markets. Your primary responsibilities will include: Quarterly earnings and consensus management * Own the end-to-end quarterly earnings process: press release, supplemental financial information, prepared remarks (CEO and CFO scripts), Q&A prep, investor deck, and supporting validation work. * Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop the company's guidance (including share count forecasting) and own the executive-facing materials that frame guidance decisions, sensitivity ranges, and the trade-offs in how we communicate them. * Lead the Q&A preparation process — anticipated questions, suggested answers, peer transcript triangulation, key stats and proof points, and live-call backup material. * Lead the post-earnings analyst callback program, including coordinating callbacks with ~30 sell-side analysts across CEO and CFO sessions. * Drive earnings materials validation — the cross-check pass that ensures every figure, claim, and disclosure across the press release, supplemental, scripts, Q&A, deck, 10-Q, and 10-K ties out and is internally and externally consistent. Investor engagement and external communications * Serve as a primary point of contact for sell-side analysts and institutional investors; build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with our covering analysts and shareholders. * Articulate the Cloudflare investment narrative — our connectivity cloud strategy, the Workers and Developer Platform story, and our long-term financial model — in a way that is both compelling and credible. * Plan and execute the calendar of investor events: sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site investor visits, and our annual Investor Day. * Prepare the CEO, CFO, and other senior executives for every investor interaction with tailored briefing materials, talking points, and Q&A prep. * Develop and maintain core IR collateral: investor presentation, fact sheets, IR website content, and board-of-directors investor update materials. Investor Day and special projects * Co-lead the planning and execution of our annual Investor Day — invite tracker and registration management, co-author all presentation content and prepared remarks across all presenters, own the supporting documentation, validation, day-of logistics, and post-event follow-through. * Lead select strategic finance projects: peer benchmarking analyses, long-range financial modeling, competitive analyses, and ad-hoc executive-level financial analyses. Cross-functional partnership and analytics * Be a trusted partner to Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, FP&A, and the executive team — the person who knows where every number comes from and what it means. * Monitor and synthesize analyst coverage, peer performance, investor sentiment, market dynamics, and industry trends; provide actionable insights to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors. * Build and maintain the internal analytical infrastructure that powers the function — the models, dashboards, trackers, and validation systems that let a small team operate at scale. * Drive the IR function's use of AI-native tooling and automation, treating modern tools as a force multiplier on insight, productivity, accuracy, and stakeholder communications. EXAMPLES OF DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE To succeed in this role, you should be a strategic thinker with deep financial acumen, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, an ownership mindset, and a genuine intellectual curiosity about both the business and the public markets. Specifically: * * 10+ years of experience combining investor relations, equity research, investment banking, FP&A, corporate finance, or equity investing — ideally with meaningful time in-house at a high-growth public technology company. * Deep technical fluency with public-company reporting, financial statements, capital markets, valuation methodologies, and SaaS / consumption-based revenue models. Comfort debating modeling assumptions and valuation mechanics. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — including the ability to draft in the voice of senior executives, translate complex technical or financial concepts into clear narratives for non-technical audiences, and operate confidently in high-stakes external communications. * Advanced financial modeling skills — fluency in building, maintaining, and stress-testing operating models, share-count and dilution forecasts, guidance sensitivity analyses, and consensus benchmarks. * An ownership mindset — comfort owning a process end-to-end, driving operational structure in a fast-paced environment, and operating with the integrity and accuracy demanded by external disclosure. * High-trust collaboration — the ability to build credibility quickly with senior internal stakeholders (CFO, CEO, Board, Legal, Accounting, FP&A) and external stakeholders (sell-side analysts, institutional investors). * AI-native curiosity and skill — fluency with modern AI tooling and a track record of using it to amplify your impact. We are building an AI-forward organization and the right candidate sees AI as a partner, not a threat. * Sound judgment with confidential information — a clear understanding of materiality, fair disclosure, Reg FD, and the discretion required when working with pre-announcement financial data. * Sector background in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or AI preferred — existing relationships with top-tier infrastructure / software sell-side analysts and institutional investors a plus. * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. * For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $200,000 - $275,000 * For New York City based hired: Estimated annual salary of $190,000 - $262,000 Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
