As a Product Design Lead, you will own the execution of our design vision, managing a small team of designers across multiple
teams to prioritise initiatives, drive strategic projects, and foster a culture of excellence. Balancing leadership with hands-on
design, you will ensure we deliver business-driven, user-centred solutions that elevate the user experience.
This role requires strong leadership, UX/UI expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with product

Within the team, the Design Systems function provides the foundations that allow product teams to move quickly while delivering consistent, high quality experiences. We’ve recently rebuilt our design system as part of our move to native, giving us a strong foundation for the future rather than a large legacy estate to untangle. This role is an opportunity to lead that next phase. Within the Consumer Tribe, the Consumer Bank squad is at the heart of one of SumUp's most exciting growth bets – scaling SumUp Pay to an ambitious Monthly Active User target. The team designs end-to-end experiences across the full user lifecycle: from onboarding and account activation to driving engagement through features like Spaces, Open Banking insights, and budget tracking. As a Senior Product Designer working alongside other designers in this team, you’ll be embedded in a cross-functional squad alongside Product Managers and Engineers, owning end-to-end design from discovery through delivery. Design plays a critical role here – not just in execution, but in defining the problems worth solving. The team works with a strong focus on user research, hypothesis-driven design, and continuous iteration, ensuring that every design decision is grounded in real user needs and measurable impact. At the same time, you’ll help evolve our design system and ensure consistency and quality across the experience, especially as SumUp undergoes a broader brand transformation and scales its consumer offering.
