Automation Test Engineer

What you’ll do

Develop and implement automated testing solutions for hardware modules and sub-assemblies, including test rigs, instrumentation, and test execution. Plan and execute validation activities during early-stage New Product Development (NPD), ensuring test coverage and identifying potential issues. Analyse test results and identify failures, trends, and opportunities to improve product performance and reliability. Support root cause investigations and design validation, working with engineering teams to verify improvements and design changes. Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, providing timely feedback and recommendations throughout the development process. Improve testing methods, tools, and processes, identifying opportunities to increase automation, efficiency, and consistency. What we’re looking for Relevant engineering background in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, through formal education or equivalent experience. Experience with PLC systems and test automation, ideally involving hardware modules, test rigs, instrumentation, or automated testing solutions. Hands-on experience with hardware testing, prototyping, or laboratory environments, preferably within product development. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test results, investigate failures, and identify practical improvements.
