About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a backend engineering team working within the Content Catalog

domain.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and improvement of backend systems responsible for managing content and

making it accessible across different platforms and services. You will work on projects focused on improving system integration,

simplifying architecture, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of existing solutions.

Your initial assignment will be aligned with business priorities and your technical expertise. You will take ownership of a

defined project, working closely with engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders from initial discovery through

implementation and handover.

Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as you will help translate business and product requirements into

practical technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify requirements, define project scope,

and establish delivery plans.

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
Explore existing systems, services, and data flows to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate technical solutions, architectural decisions, trade-offs, progress, and potential risks to both technical and

non-technical stakeholders.

Drive and coordinate system migrations, integrations, and backend improvements across multiple teams.
Manage technical dependencies while ensuring service continuity and minimal disruption.
Ensure high standards of code quality, system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Evaluate implementations through testing, monitoring, and production feedback.
Document technical solutions and share knowledge to support long-term system ownership.

Requirements:

Extensive experience developing and operating backend services and APIs in production environments at scale.
Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Java, Scala, Go (Golang), or similar.
Solid understanding of API design, schema evolution, and backward compatibility.
Experience with data modelling, including versioning, auditability, and efficient querying.
Familiarity with data pipelines and the differences between real-time and batch processing.
Ability to navigate complex or unfamiliar codebases and quickly understand new technical domains.
Experience working with system integrations, migrations, and distributed backend architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify priorities and deliver solutions in ambiguous

environments.

Experience developing systems where data traceability, accuracy, and auditability are particularly important.
