Om tjänsten
Do you like designing backend and cloud solutions that don’t just work today, but continue to perform as products, traffic, and
complexity grow? At Framna, we’re looking for a Senior Cloud & Backend Architect with deep experience in .NET and Azure who can
take ownership of the bigger technical picture — from application architecture and infrastructure to scalability, resilience,
security, and multi-region cloud setups.
You’ll be someone who can zoom in on a complex backend challenge, zoom out to understand how the whole system fits together, and
make architectural decisions that create reliable, scalable, and maintainable products for the long term.
BECOME PART OF THE TEAM
Framna partners with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, like Swish, SJ, Essity, and SEB, to create digital products that
define markets and deliver real-world impact. We are more than 600 people across our studios, building apps and digital products
used by millions every day.
As our next Senior Cloud & Backend Architect, you’ll join our team in Stockholm, working alongside developers, designers, QA
engineers, analysts, and product leads to take ideas from first sketch to live product.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the technical foundations behind the products we build, working across backend architecture,
cloud infrastructure, scalability, security, and operations. Depending on the project, that might mean designing a new cloud
architecture from the ground up, evolving an existing platform to handle significantly greater scale, or defining how services and
infrastructure should operate reliably across multiple regions.
You’ll also become part of Framna’s wider engineering and cloud community across our studios — sharing knowledge, challenging
technical assumptions, discussing architecture, and helping us continuously improve how we build.
And while we collaborate across locations, Stockholm is where you’ll call home. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys
being around their colleagues and wants the office to be a natural part of their working week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a senior architectural role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of complex technical systems and making decisions that
hold up over time.
You’ll work across backend development, cloud architecture, infrastructure, and operations, with a particular focus on .NET and
Microsoft Azure.
More specifically, you will:
- Define technical architectures for products that need to remain reliable, performant, and maintainable as usage and complexity
grow.
- Architect and implement multi-region solutions, considering areas such as data replication, failover, latency, availability,
and regional dependencies.
- Make architectural decisions around services, APIs, databases, networking, messaging, caching, storage, and other cloud
components.
- Ensure security is considered throughout the architecture, from infrastructure and networking to identity, access, and
application design.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and partners to translate business requirements into robust technical
solutions.
- Act as a senior technical advisor in client and project discussions, explaining architectural choices, trade-offs, and
recommendations clearly.
- Mentor developers and engineers, lead technical discussions, and help raise the architectural capability of the teams around
you.
WHO YOU ARE
We imagine you have 10+ years of professional experience within backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, software architecture,
or a combination of these, with substantial hands-on experience working with C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.
At this level, we’re looking for more than deep technical knowledge. You’ve built enough systems, seen enough things go wrong, and
made enough architectural decisions to understand the trade-offs behind them.
You know that good architecture isn’t about making something as sophisticated as possible. It’s about designing the right solution
for the context — and making sure it can evolve when that context changes.
You might recognise yourself if you:
- Are comfortable making decisions around databases, APIs, networking, messaging, caching, identity, security, and cloud
services.
- Think beyond application code and consider the complete system, including infrastructure, observability, deployment, security,
and operational support.
ABOUT FRAMNA
Framna means ‘to bring forward’ in Old Norse. And that is exactly what we do. We partner with industry leaders (and those about to
be) to create excellent digital products that define markets, reshape industries, and deliver meaningful impact.
Born from the union of digital agencies Bontouch, Move, and Shape, Framna emerged from a strong, product-led culture. Today, over
600 of us collaborate across eight studios in Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the US.
Every day, millions of users around the world rely on the products we help shape. From seamless payments to daily commutes, from
better health management to smarter shopping. Our work supports more than €150 million in daily transactions and consistently
earns an average App Store rating of 4.5.
Together with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, including Essity, SJ, Swish, and SEB, we craft products that lead markets
and push boundaries. Because when products win, businesses win. We call it Win by product.
WHAT YOU GET
- For us, it’s office first. Our cozy Stockholm office is our main location for work. Right in the middle of the city, it’s a
welcoming space where there’s always something happening, whether it is a demo, a fika, or someone testing out a new idea. We
spend time together to build culture, optimize for stronger collaboration, better products, and greater value for our partners
— challenging ourselves while having fun doing it. We mix that with the freedom to work from home when it makes sense, and
hours that flex around real life.
- A culture of curiosity. On Fridays we have weekly demos, Wednesdays mean lunch-and-learns, and sometimes we throw ourselves
into conceptathons just to see what happens. We gather for company conferences to share ideas, and we take time to learn
something new when needed.
- The freedom to follow your “what if.” We believe the best roles are shaped by the people in them. If you are curious about
something, you will have the trust and space to chase it, and probably a few teammates who want to jump in with you.
- Teammates who bring their whole selves. Designers who doodle during standups, engineers who can’t resist showing off a clever
hack, product leads who keep the energy up when things get tricky. Around here, people genuinely like sharing what they know
and celebrating when someone tries something new.
- And of course, the benefits you’d expect. A generous wellness grant, top-up on your parental leave, occupational pension, and
plenty more to make life outside of work easier.
Please note: For this role, you need to be based in Stockholm, Sweden, or within commuting distance of our Östersund studio.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer relocation.
