Backend Development Lead

iLOQ is an international company headquartered in Finland that offers intelligent locking systems and total access management

solutions. We provide secure and efficient access to buildings and facilities. Our mission is to make everyday life easier with a

diverse range of safe and sustainable products for individual buildings, large real estate complexes and critical infrastructure

sites.

We reinvented the lock. iLOQ's self-powered digital locking and mobile access solutions work without batteries or mechanical keys,

something nobody thought was possible until we did it. But the lock is only half of the story.

Behind every iLOQ lock is iLOQ 5 Series+. iLOQ 5 Series + is our modern, cloud-based, AI-enabled software platform which powers

access management for buildings and large real estate complexes across the world. Locks, keys, apps and cloud services are all

working as one system: this is where hardware innovation meets serious software engineering. Scalable backend services,

security-critical design and a platform that keeps evolving with new AI-driven capabilities.

We are now looking for a Backend Development Lead to join our Software organization in Oulu. In this role, you will guide a

backend team building the secure, reliable and scalable services at the core of iLOQ 5 Series+, while staying hands-on with the

code yourself. This is a role for an experienced software professional who enjoys solving complex problems, takes ownership beyond

writing code and wants to influence both technical solutions and the way software is developed.

As our Backend Development Lead, you will guide the day-to-day development work of a Backend software team while remaining closely

involved in technical delivery.

• Support the team in turning product and business priorities into clear, achievable technical plans and predictable delivery

without losing sight of quality and long-term maintainability

• Develop engineering practices related to code quality, reviews, test automation, CI/CD, security and observability, including

the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools

• Strong professional experience in backend software development, including leading, coordinating or facilitating the work of a

development team

• A good understanding of microservice architectures, APIs and distributed systems, databases, integrations and cloud-native

development

You will build products that end up in buildings all over the world and ease the everyday lives of our customers. You will have

real responsibility and freedom to operate without big corporation bureaucracy. We ensure you’ll have room to grow professionally

in a fast-growing international company.

We offer you a workplace within a collaborative and forward-thinking company culture, friendly and skilled colleagues, proper

onboarding, and a solid benefits package: bonus program, full lunch benefit, extensive occupational health care with an annual

dental check, life insurance, plus regular team and company events.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued and all employees are treated with respect. We

encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply and join us in promoting an inclusive and diverse workplace.

We are expecting your application by Oct 14th at the latest. Please note that we might be reviewing candidates and conducting

interviews already during the application process and filling the position as soon as the right person has been found.
