Embedded Firmware Engineer

Join our Long-Range BU (Business Unit) R&D organisation and develop the platform firmware that the rest of our software relies on.

Your role in the team is to abstract the complexity of the hardware away from the higher layers of firmware: improving the RTOS,

drivers and common APIs, and supporting your colleagues with build systems, CI/CD pipelines and the tooling around them.

This is an individual-contributor position with a broad scope that can be shaped around your interests and skills, and it lets you

grow your expertise across a wide range of areas. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and modern development tooling,

and your work will end up in products deployed in millions of connected devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise embedded firmware, including RTOS configuration, device drivers and common platform APIs, so

that feature development on top of them stays efficient.

• Maintain and improve the cross-platform build environment shared by our firmware teams, and CI pipelines, using Docker or other

containerised setups.

The ideal candidate is curious and quick to pick up new technologies, and enjoys making life easier for the people building on top

of their work. You communicate clearly in English, both in writing and in person, and you collaborate comfortably across

disciplines. You are self-driven, able to prioritise and deliver in a dynamic environment, and equally happy working independently

or as part of the team.
