Surface connections across initiatives and help teams avoid duplicating work or converging on the wrong approach. * Raise the Bar: Set engineering standards for the team and company. Provide mentorship through problem decomposition, research methodology, and code review. Champion reproducibility, documentation, and rigorous evaluation practices across the AI organization. Who you are: * You have 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML research or engineering, with a clear track record of shipping AI systems, including agentic or LLM-powered systems, in production environments. * You have deep expertise in language models and Generative AI, with hands-on depth across several of: architecture, post-training (fine-tuning, RLHF), inference optimization, context engineering (RAG), and failure modes at scale. * You have proven experience designing and operating agentic systems at scale, multi-agent orchestration, tool use, memory and context management, state handling for long-running workflows, and human-in-the-loop design. You understand what separates production agents from research prototypes. * You are rigorous and systematic about evaluation. You have designed evaluation frameworks or internal benchmarks that go beyond standard metrics. You understand the failure modes of LLM-as-judge approaches and know how to measure what actually matters for a given system and use-case. * You have a strong foundation in classical machine learning: supervised learning, ensemble methods, optimization, probabilistic modeling, and statistics. You reach for the appropriate tool for the problem. * You write clean, well-structured, production-ready code, primarily Python, and you hold research code to an engineering standard. * You have hands-on experience with at least one production-grade agentic framework. RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, operate, and improve support products for all of Stripe’s users, from one-person startups to Premium Support users and large enterprises. * Work side-by-side with user-facing teams to understand their needs, develop short-term and long-term solutions, and deploy those solutions across our global 24/7 support operation. * Improve the internal tools that empower our user-facing teams to build new case-solving workflows, publish dynamic, localized content to our user-facing support site, and answer every support request with the right context for any user. * Own problems from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with stakeholders to think through everything from business impact, to reliability and operability, to the pixel-perfection of individual support interactions. * Uphold Stripe’s high standards for engineering and product quality and mentor newer team members to do the same. We are now looking for a Manager, Production Technology who wants to strengthen and lead a competent team and play an important part in developing the intersection between engineering and production and optimizing production and assembly processes to enable growth. The Role As Manager, Production Technology, you will be responsible for the team within production preparation, production engineering, production technology and production development. Your overall responsibility is to create the right conditions for safe, efficient and high-quality production. Together with your team, you will develop production methods, assembly structure and technical ways of working that streamline operations, shorten production lead times, ensure quality and supports onboarding of new operators and assembly personnel. You will also have overall responsibility for the maintenance and reliability of the production facility and its equipment, ensuring high availability while driving improvements and investments that support both current production and future capacity needs. A key part of the assignment is to bring structure and direction, clarify priorities and work cross-functionally to turn production needs into real improvements in production. Your Profile We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in production technology, production preparation, methods or industrial development. You have experience from manufacturing, preferably in an environment with technical complexity, project-based deliveries and high quality requirements. As a leader, you are confident, structured and clear. You communicate well, create direction and help people understand priorities and responsibilities. You are decisive when needed, while also being responsive and able to build trust and commitment in the team. You combine technical understanding with the ability to lead improvement and change. You know how to create progress, follow through and make sure that solutions work in production. We believe you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience. You are comfortable communicating in both Swedish and English.
