Data Extraction and Accessibility The Data Extraction and Accessibility team is responsible for building and maintaining the centralized reporting framework used across Adyen. This includes securing and managing data access from both operational systems and the big data platform, transforming data into the required formats, and ensuring its secure delivery to our merchants. What you’ll do: * Work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production. * Be hands-on and contribute to the implementation. * Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable. * Bring your own point of view on best engineering practices. * Your code will be used at scale and you are expected to think in that mindset when building features. * We launch fast and iterate often. Concretely, this means that within your first few weeks, you will bring live functionalities that impact many merchants and shoppers. * Build APIs and tooling according to quality principles such as performance and code quality. * Collaborate across teams and time zones to get projects over the finish line. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Staff Software Engineer with a strong background in building reliable, scalable, and low latency systems and hands-on experience in Machine Learning (ML) applications. While we have foundational elements in place, we have recently shifted our strategy to take a more holistic approach to proactively detect and mitigate financial crime and fraud. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Design and develop robust, scalable software systems that integrate Machine Learning models into production environments. * Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into technical solutions. * Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools, and drive their adoption where appropriate to solve real business challenges. * Mentor and guide junior engineers and peers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing. * Advocate for best practices in software engineering, and system architecture. * Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with advancements in software engineering, infrastructure, and AI technologies. * Lead technical design discussions and contribute to the strategic direction of the technology roadmap. * Close cross functional collaboration with different, non-technical functions like Account Management, Compliance, Operations etc. REQUIREMENTS * At least 10-12 years of extensive industry hands-on experience in Software Engineering and building data intensive applications, including system design, architecture, and development. * Experience with building scalable, reliable, and low latency systems. * Strong programming skills in Java. ABOUT THE TEAM We work in the financial Crime and Fraud department. As a financial institute, we provide products to store and move finances. This comes at a risk. Fraudsters and criminals can misuse our platform to do financial crime like money laundering, and fraud like taking funds that do not belong to them. We need to be one step ahead of the fraudsters and we are also liable to report any detection of financial crime. We leverage our huge amount of data to identify actors using our platform, mitigate crime and catch fraud cases without creating friction for our genuine customers. In order to do this in a scalable and reliable manner, we have teams dedicated to figuring out the customer behind any event that goes through Adyen, do risk assessment, and make good judgement in real time as well as after the event has taken place. Android - AOSP Engineer - IPP Hardware Adyen’s In-person payments fleet of payment devices is growing exponentially with every passing month. We are bringing thousands of devices to the field every month with a wide variety of models and this doesn’t come without challenges. We are looking for an Android Engineer with AOSP experience to help us in taking full control over the Android OS. What you will do: * Lead the Android AOSP efforts in order to build a strong and flexible foundation for our Android payments application * Engage in cross-functional conversations with product management, software engineering and hardware engineering teams to ensure the best payment experience for our merchants * Drive conversations with SOC (system on chip) vendors and terminal vendors in order to secure high performing components * Ensure software quality by using the latest technologies and frameworks in Android OS engineering * Coach team members to grow the team with the right skill set Who you are: * 5+ years of experience working with the Android OS. * In-depth understanding of the Android OS, spanning from secure boot and the Linux Kernel up to the Java Framework integration. * Proficient in C/C++. Knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin is a plus. Experience working with source control tools such as Git, Repo, Gerrit, GitHub, and with Android command line tools such as adb and fastboot. * Proven track record navigating multi-party development lifecycles, including experience with Google’s communication channels (Mailing lists, Android Security Bulletins) and compliance tools (VTS/CTS/STS). * Experience in modifying AOSP for domain specific features * Expertise in implementing and integrating HAL (HIDL/AIDL) interfaces and wrappers to bridge hardware functionality with the Android Framework. * Experience in debugging issues within the Android Framework and Linux Kernel. * Passionate about solving large scale problems and building great software for customers.
