WHAT WE OFFER : * Paid, full-time internships in the heart of the software industry * Post-internship career opportunities (full-time and/or additional internships) * Exposure to a fast-paced, yet fun, startup culture * A chance to work with world-class experts on challenging projects * Opportunity to provide meaningful contributions to a real system used by customers * High level of access to supervisors (manager and mentor), detailed direction without micromanagement, feedback throughout your internship, and a final evaluation * Stuff that matters: treated as a member of the Snowflake team, included in company meetings/activities, flexible hours, casual dress code, accommodations to work from home, swag and much more * Catered lunches, access to gaming consoles, recreational games, happy hours, company outings, and more * Embraced as a full member of the diverse Snowflake engineering team WHAT WE EXPECT : * Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program during the time of the internship * Required: A completed BS degree, with an MS or PhD in progress * Desired Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field * Required coursework: algorithms, data structures, and operating systems * Recommended coursework: Database systems, distributed systems, Geospatial/Geographic IS, cloud computing, compilers, * Bonus experience: Research or publications in databases or distributed systems, experience with geo features processing, and contributions to open source. * Experience working with big data (engineering / processing) and data migration * Duration: 4 month minimum, 6 months recommended, up to 12 months supported, start date flexible * Target start dates: February 2026 and onward * Excellent programming skills in C++ or Java * Knowledge of data structures and algorithms * Strong problem solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment * Fluent English language skills (oral and written) * Experience with working as a part of a team * Dedication and passion for technology * Systems programming skills including multi-threading, concurrency, etc. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN/GAIN : * How to build enterprise grade, reliable, and trustworthy software/services * Exposure to SQL and/or other database technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) * Understanding of database internals, large-scale data processing, transaction processing, distributed systems, and data warehouse design * Implementation, testing of features in query compilation, compiler design, query execution * Experience working with cloud infrastructure, AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud in particular * Learning about cutting edge database technology and research POSSIBLE TEAMS/WORK FOCUS AREA : * Execution platform (XP), Search Optimization (SO), SQL Features (Geo, Collations) * Database engineering, service runtime, streaming (data pipelines), metadata, Streamlit and cloud engineering teams. * High performance large-scale data processing * Large-scale distributed systems * Query compilation and optimization * Software-as-a-Service platform * Software frameworks for stability and performance testing Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead Snowflake’s Streaming Platform. This role is at the center of the real-time data shift, defining how data in motion becomes data that teams can trust, analyze, and use to power AI-driven workflows. Streaming is the backbone for modern applications, operational analytics, and Agent to Agent pipelines. If you are passionate about distributed systems, care about craft, and want to work on problems that matter at massive scale, this is a rare opportunity to build something foundational. What You Will Do * Product Vision: Own the product direction, strategy, and roadmap for Snowflake’s streaming capabilities. * Execution: Translate complex customer problems into clear product bets and successfully shipped features. * Engineering Partnership: Collaborate closely with engineering on system design, trade-offs, and execution. * User Focus: Spend time with users to understand what is broken, what is missing, and what matters most. * Design & GTM: Partner with design to ensure advanced workflows are intuitive, and work with GTM teams to launch products that resonate with customers. * Alignment: Drive cross-functional alignment across ingestion, platform, analytics, and AI teams. * Prioritization: Make rigorous prioritization calls grounded in impact, scale, and customer value. What We Are Looking For * Experience building products in data infrastructure, distributed systems, or real-time platforms. * Strong understanding of streaming systems and event-driven architectures. * Experience working with Flink or similar systems is a strong plus. * Ability to engage deeply with engineers and reason about architecture and design choices. * Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping direction from first principles. * Strong communication skills and a practical, customer-first mindset. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. * Master’s degree is a plus. As a Principal Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will be a technical anchor — setting direction, solving the hardest engineering problems, and elevating the entire team. You will work at the intersection of systems design, long-term architecture, and real-world engineering execution. In this specific role, you will lead the evolution of our declarative data pipelines, focusing on streaming ingestion and transformations. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Drive the technical strategy and architecture for key Data Platform initiatives, focusing heavily on real-time data movement and incremental processing. * Lead design reviews and set engineering standards across teams. * Identify and resolve high-impact technical challenges and systemic bottlenecks to reduce latency and improve the efficiency of dynamic tables at cloud scale. * Mentor and grow senior engineers; raise the engineering bar. * Partner closely with product and infrastructure leadership on roadmap and direction. * Continuous hands-on technical deliverables in the most critical areas. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 14+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems. * Demonstrated track record of defining and delivering platform-scale technical initiatives. * Expert-level knowledge of streaming and/or batch data systems (Flink, Spark, or equivalent), with specialized knowledge in incremental materialization algorithms. * Strong systems thinking — ability to reason across layers of complexity (infra, storage, compute, API). * A passion for engaging directly with customers to gain insight and inspiration * Experience influencing technical direction across organizations * Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences. DESIRABLE * Experience with AI-augmented development practices and integrating LLM-based tooling into engineering workflows. * Familiarity with Snowflake platform internals or cloud-native data systems. * Experience with metadata systems, query optimization, or data catalog infrastructure. * Contributions to open source, such as top-level Apache projects Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth.
