GENERAL INFORMATION As Medical Operations Working Student (f/m/d) at Medigo, you will be part of a close-knit team handling incoming medical claims and reports while providing the best possible support for the members undergoing medical treatment. The position is available at the earliest possible date, is offered part-time as a working student (up to 20 hours per week), and is located in Berlin. We have a hybrid working model where remote work is possible. GENERAL INFORMATION As a freelance Medical Interpreter German - Arabic (m/w/d), you will be responsible to accompany Arabic-speaking patients during their medical appointments in Berlin, Germany, and to translate from Arabic to German and from German to Arabic. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the medical professional fully understands the complaints of the patient and that the patient fully understands their medical condition, treatment options, and any care instructions given by the medical specialist. This is not a full-time position. We are looking for multiple freelancers that can support us as and when needed. YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES * You provide in-person interpretation services for Arabic-speaking patients during medical appointments with German-speaking healthcare providers. * You accurately interpret spoken communication between patients and medical staff, ensuring clarity and precision in both languages. * You assist patients in understanding medical terminology, procedures, and treatment plans. * You support patients in completing necessary paperwork, e.g. consent forms or intake questionnaires, when required. * You help facilitate a comfortable and trusting environment for the patient by providing cultural and emotional support as needed. YOUR PROFILE * You are fluent in both German and Arabic. * You have previous experience as a medical interpreter. * You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * You display a very high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. * You have knowledge of medical terminology in both German and Arabic. * You have a strong cultural understanding of Arabic-native patients. * You have the ability to remain impartial and neutral during the interpretation process. * You have the availability to travel to various medical appointments as needed. While this role will help shape processes and improve how the organization operates, this is currently an individual contributor role focused on execution rather than building or managing a large HR team. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Onboarding & Employee Experience * Own onboarding coordination and ensure employees have a smooth and organized onboarding experience. * Coordinate new hire setup including equipment ordering, account provisioning, onboarding schedules, and internal introductions. * Maintain onboarding documentation, training resources, and onboarding checklists. * Help drive employee engagement initiatives, team events, and internal communication efforts. * Support employees throughout their lifecycle with the company. People Operations & Organizational Support * Coordinate and help manage feedback cycles, performance review processes, and employee check-ins. * Maintain organizational documentation including org charts, employee records, and internal systems. * Help establish scalable people operations processes and best practices. * Ensure consistency and follow-through across internal people-related processes. * Support leadership with scheduling, coordination, and follow-up on people operations initiatives. * Assist with office operations and administrative coordination as needed. Cross-Functional Support * Partner closely with leadership, recruiting, operations, and finance teams on hiring and employee-related initiatives. * Help ensure compliance with internal policies and operational processes. * Support ad hoc operational projects and company initiatives as the organization grows. Nice to have contributions (not requirements): Recruiting & Hiring Operations: * Support recruiting efforts by managing candidate pipelines, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and maintaining strong candidate communication. * Partner with hiring managers to ensure an efficient and positive hiring experience. * Prepare offer letters, onboarding documentation, and hiring-related communications. * Maintain recruiting trackers, hiring metrics, and interview coordination processes. * Help improve recruiting workflows and hiring operations as the company scales. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). * 4+ years of experience in people operations, recruiting operations, HR coordination, or employee operations roles. * Experience supporting hiring pipelines and coordinating recruiting processes across multiple stakeholders. * Experience onboarding employees in fast-paced or startup environments preferred. * Familiarity with HR systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and employee management platforms. * Experience maintaining organizational processes, employee documentation, and operational workflows.
