And it’s the reality NavVis empowers people to build better.    THE OPPORTUNITY Can you imagine diving into the development of the software and components that run our innovative mobile indoor mapping system, operated by companies in more than 25 countries worldwide?  You will join the Mapping and Perception Team, whose mission is to create software solutions for mapping entire buildings and creating realistic 3D representations such as maps, point clouds and panoramic images, based on cutting-edge technology in the area of robotics.   We are a very international team and if you feel at home with software engineering and want to build something that makes indoors digital, this is the right place for you!    HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT * Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ applications focused on computer vision, 3D perception, and 3D data processing.  * Apply clean code techniques & design patterns and mentor your teammates through in-depth code reviews  * You will mainly work on our pipeline – from raw sensor data to the generation of point clouds, panoramic images and maps.  * Move our applications into cloud infrastructure by closely collaborating with our cloud team  * Analyzing and improving our applications with respect to efficiency, scalability, and stability  * Full life cycle of application development from design to deployment including infrastructure and continuous integration/delivery  * Continuous improvement of automated tests and automated delivery of software.    WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THE ROLE * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related field.  * 5–10 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.  * Strong software development background with expert-level C++ skills and solid Python proficiency.  * Experience working with 3D perception systems, including computer vision, 3D point cloud processing, filtering, and/or robotics applications.  * Strong understanding of 3D data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.  * Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.  * Experience deploying and maintaining software across multiple platforms, operating systems, and cloud-based environments.  * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers.  * Passion for software design and development, with an interest in agile software engineering practices.  * Fluent in English.   Would be an added benefit:  * Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS.  * Experience working with containerization and virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, virtual machines).  * Familiarity with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.  * Experience with C++ libraries such as Boost, Eigen, OpenCV, PCL, or similar.  * Experience building, maintaining, and deploying large-scale software systems.    HOW WE WILL KNOW WE ARE A PERFECT MATCH Your recruiting partner for this role is Rina (she/her). If you are equally eager to work with both - software and hardware, you might be the person for this challenge!    You will join the Mapping and Perception Team and collaborate closely with people from a diverse set of cultural and professional backgrounds, who share a passion for delivering top-class mapping solutions that aim to digitize physical spaces through the creation of photorealistic digital twins.    HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT * Creating and developing state of the art software testing methodologies and processes which assure and advance the quality of our products  * Carrying out the manual tests for software releases in both regular but also explorative manner – this includes release of the software running on our devices, as well as the processing software running on Linux-based Desktop Machines and our cloud-based processing.  * Planning, designing, specification and development of test strategies, test dashboards and reports to enable frequent releases of high quality  * Supporting the development team in high quality work and implementation of high-quality tests  * Validating reported bugs systematically, performing data analysis and interpretation of test results  * Prioritizing, debugging and monitoring bugs to speed up the process in the middle of an energetic and fast-paced product development team  * Reducing gaps by manual tests – and reducing manual tests by automating them.  * Communication and collaboration with other people working on support and services.    WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THE ROLE * 5+ years of hands-on experience with test execution but also quality assurance processes (test case planning, issue tracking, regression and isolation testing)  * Background in robotics, autonomous driving or similar  * Experience with Linux and its command line  * Knowledge in test automation using scripting languages (e.g. Python)  * A strong ability to communicate in a structured, concise and clear manner will be pivotal in ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration  * Curiosity and willingness to learn and work with embedded software as well as a great variety of release channels (embedded software, desktop software, cloud applications)  * Fluency in English  Would be an added benefit:  * ISTQB certification     HOW WE WILL KNOW WE ARE A PERFECT MATCH Your recruiting partner for this role is Rina (she/her). And it’s the reality NavVis empowers people to build better.    THE OPPORTUNITY Can you imagine diving into the development of the software and components for and around our innovative mobile indoor mapping system, operated by companies in more than 25 countries worldwide?  You will join the Mapping and Perception department and collaborate closely with people from a diverse set of cultural and professional backgrounds, who share a passion for delivering top-class mapping solutions that aim to digitize physical spaces through the creation of photorealistic digital twins.     HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT * You will be at the forefront of building, testing, improving, and maintaining the software and processes to calibrate our Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS)  * You will be deeply involved in the full life-cycle of the calibration process from ideation to the roll-out into production  * You will collaborate closely with our production and hardware teams to identify, escalate, and resolve issues with our calibration processes and tools  * You will have a key responsibility of creating, maintaining, and improving the technical documentation for calibration  * Monitor and enhance data quality through improved calibration procedures    WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THE ROLE * A Master's degree or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar  * At least 3+ years of experience in the field of calibration of sensors in general and ideally experience with sensors and sensor models for cameras, laser scanners / LIDARs and IMUs  * You have expertise in C++ development and related tools in a professional context as well as good coding skills in Python  * Experience with C++ Libraries like Boost, Eigen, OpenCV (Ceres, ROS, PCL as optional)  * You are proficient in using Linux and the command line  * Experience in modeling and solving hard optimization problems, especially around the geometry of 2D / 3D correspondences   * Your passion for data quality and improving processes as well as workflows will be useful throughout the calibration process    HOW WE WILL KNOW WE ARE A PERFECT MATCH Your recruiting partner for this role is Rina (she/her).
