From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us! Figma's AI Tools team builds the AI-powered workflows, platforms, and tooling that make every engineer at the company more productive. From agentic CI auto-fixing and AI-assisted code review to background cloud agents that turn a Slack message into a pull request, this team owns the systems that are transforming how Figma builds software. The team operates across a three-layer platform stack—sandbox runtime, cloud agents, and workflow orchestration—while shipping and maintaining a growing portfolio of org-wide developer workflows that compound across hundreds of engineers. WHAT YOU’LL DO AT FIGMA: * Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for building and operating Figma's AI developer workflows and the cloud agent platform that powers them * Own the technical strategy and roadmap for AI Developer Experience, spanning sandbox runtime infrastructure, cloud agent reliability, workflow orchestration, and org-wide agentic workflows * Hire and scale the team - establishing team culture, execution cadence, and operational processes from the ground up * Drive the reliability, observability, and scalability of our cloud agent platform, ensuring it meets production-grade standards as adoption grows across the engineering organization * Partner with product engineering, security, infrastructure, and DevEx teams to identify the highest-leverage opportunities for AI-assisted developer workflows and drive adoption * Evaluate and integrate emerging AI tools, models, and agent frameworks, making strategic bets on which capabilities to build versus buy * Establish evaluation frameworks to measure the quality, cost, and impact of AI-generated code and agentic workflows across the organization * Coach and mentor engineers through career development, performance feedback, and technical leadership, fostering a culture of ownership, speed, and high-quality execution WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE: * 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure, platform, or developer experience engineering teams, with a track record of scaling teams and delivering high-performing systems * Strong software engineering background, with Staff-level or above technical depth before moving into management with deep understanding of distributed systems, platform architecture, and the operational challenges of running production infrastructure at scale * Demonstrated fluency with AI/ML systems, LLM-based workflows, or agent architectures - as a builder, not just a consumer - with the ability to reason about tradeoffs in nondeterministic systems * Experience hiring, onboarding, and growing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments * Ability to set technical direction, drive cross-functional alignment, and make sound architectural decisions while balancing speed of execution with long-term sustainability WHILE NOT REQUIRED, IT’S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE: * Direct experience building AI developer tooling, agent platforms, or AI-assisted engineering workflows * Familiarity with agent frameworks such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar background agent systems, including MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations * Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal, n8n, or Tines for multi-stage automation * Background in developer experience platforms including CI/CD systems, build tools (Bazel/Blaze), or large polyglot monorepo environments * Experience building evaluation and quality frameworks for AI-generated outputs At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. The IT Systems Engineering team builds the systems and processes that keep Asana running: endpoint management, identity, and the enterprise applications every Asana employee uses every day. As Manager of IT Applications and Client Platform Engineering, you’ll lead four engineers: two on client platform, two on applications. You report directly to the Head of IT Systems Engineering. This is a player/coach role: you set direction, run planning, and step in on escalations and architecture decisions while your engineers own most of the day-to-day. Your primary depth is in endpoint engineering; you have enough SaaS administration background to lead the apps side without micromanaging it. We’re looking for someone who knows endpoint work deeply and is ready to grow as a manager. Your title history matters less than technical foundation and how you work with people. This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you’re interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements. What you’ll achieve * Lead and develop your team. Manage and mentor four engineers (two on CPE, two on Apps). Set priorities, clear blockers, and help each person grow. * Own the client platform program. Set strategy and lead execution for Asana’s endpoint fleet: macOS, Windows, and mobile. This means MDM infrastructure, zero-touch deployment, software catalog, and OS lifecycle. We’re primarily an Apple shop with a growing Windows footprint. * Strengthen endpoint security. Work with the Corporate Security team to harden our endpoint posture, respond to incidents, and build initiatives that connect security priorities and endpoints. * Oversee the applications engineering function. Your Apps engineers manage the SaaS portfolio: Asana, Google Workspace, Slack, Zendesk, DocuSign, 1Password, Slab, Figma, and more. You set direction, stay close enough to catch problems early, and step in when something needs senior judgment. * Be the technical escalation. When a hard endpoint problem surfaces, an MDM decision needs to be made, or a cross-team initiative needs senior ownership, that’s you. * Push automation and efficiency. Spot opportunities to reduce manual work through scripting, APIs, and workflow tooling. Build the expectation that if something is repetitive, the team automates it. * Work across the organization. Partner with Corporate Security, HR, Legal, and other business teams to understand what they need, communicate what IT is building, and ship solutions that work. * Document and share knowledge. Make sure your team documents clearly and hands off processes that others can follow. About you * Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making. * Experience managing client endpoint infrastructure: macOS and Windows required, mobile (iOS/Android) a strong plus. * Hands-on with MDM platforms like Jamf, Intune, BigFix, or AirWatch; familiar with zero-touch deployment methods. * Comfortable with identity platforms like Okta and how they connect to endpoint management. * Can write scripts in Bash or PowerShell; familiar with APIs and orchestration tools like Workato. * Enough SaaS administration experience — Google Workspace, Slack, and similar — to lead a team that owns it. * Some management experience. This is a good role for a senior engineer who has led projects or a small team and is ready for the next step. We care more about how you think technically and how you work with people than what your title has been. * You communicate clearly, prioritize in writing, and know when to solve a problem yourself and when to hand it off. At Asana, we’re committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you’re interested in this role and don’t meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply. What we’ll offer Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we’re committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $194,000 - $220,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits. If you’re interviewing for this role, speak with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role. We strive to provide equitable and competitive benefits packages that support our employees worldwide and include: * Mental health, wellness & fitness benefits * Career coaching & support * Inclusive family building benefits * Long-term savings or retirement plans * In-office culinary options to cater to your dietary preferences These are just some of the benefits we offer, and benefits may vary based on role, country, and local regulations. If you’re interviewing for this role, speak with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role. #LI-Hybrid #LI-SA About us Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration. This is our first dedicated Infrastructure & Security TPM. This role owns the program layer so our ICs and Engineering Managers can refocus on implementation, advisory, review, and architecture. You will report to the Director of TPM and partner daily with our infrastructure and security leadership. WHAT YOU'LL DO Compliance & Security Program Ownership * Own the end-to-end CIS IG1 program: intake, evidence collection, SLA enforcement, and periodic review cycles across all 18 control families * Expand CIS controls from local engineering teams to the entire company, and build the roadmap for IG2 and IG3 * Maintain the CIS Crosswalk Tracker as a living record of audit readiness and control status * Translate technical controls into actionable Jira workflows and enforceable remediation SLAs * Manage the annual external Penetration Test program and track remediation of findings to closure Governance & Intake * Design and operate a centralized intake process for security and infrastructure requests, ensuring engineers work only on vetted, prioritized work * Standardize access-granting workflows for new hires, role changes, and tool requests—with full audit trails * Establish and enforce SLAs for vulnerability remediation, PR reviews, and ticket response; report compliance to leadership Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Orchestration * Serve as the primary interface between Engineering, Security, Legal, Finance, IT, and Procurement for security-related programs, vendor reviews, and audits * Negotiate infrastructure and security work into team sprints; manage GIVE/GET dependency tracking with Engineering Directors * Drive policy approvals and company-wide rollouts (e.g., Data Management, Secure Configuration, Access Control) from draft to operationalized and signed-off Operational Excellence (Run the Business) * Operationalize recurring compliance work: quarterly access reviews, monthly vulnerability triage, bi-annual asset inventory updates, annual vendor reassessments, and tabletop BCP exercises * Build and maintain dashboards and automated evidence pipelines to reduce manual compliance chores * Report security posture, key metrics, and a "Security Score" to senior leadership in clear, business-readable terms * Lead the BCP program: standardize templates, schedule tabletop exercises, document results, and drive remediation into engineering sprints Incident & Vulnerability Program Management * Scale vulnerability management from local triage to a company-wide SLA-driven program using Wiz, HackerOne, and Jira * Own the SLA—chasing teams to close critical findings within 7 days and reporting Days-to-Patch to leadership * Manage the phishing response playbook and incident post-mortem process; ensure P0/P1 action items land in sprint WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH * Engineering Director, Infrastructure & Security * Senior Manager, Cloud Infrastructure * Security Manager * Infosec/Security team ICs * Other TPM’s * Engineering Managers and ICs across Cloud Infrastructure and SRE * Legal (data retention, SOC2/vendor reviews), Finance (security budget), IT (endpoint and asset coverage, Okta), Procurement, and the Data Lead (PII inventory and retention) * Senior Engineering and Product leadership (risk and metrics reporting) WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required Experience * 3+ years of technical program management in an infrastructure, security, SRE, or compliance environment * Demonstrated ability to translate security controls (e.g., CIS, SOC2) into actionable Jira workflows, SLAs, and repeatable operational processes * Proven track record driving company-wide, cross-departmental initiatives through to completion—including securing stakeholder sign-offs and managing organizational resistance * Experience operationalizing run-the-business processes: access reviews, vulnerability remediation tracking, audit evidence collection, and periodic compliance reviews * Sufficient technical depth in cloud infrastructure, SRE, and infosec to coordinate credibly with engineers and translate findings for non-technical leaders * Strong executive communication skills—able to synthesize technical risk into a business-readable security score and status report * End-to-end program ownership: from intake governance and dependency tracking through leadership reporting Nice to Haves * Familiarity with CIS Controls v8.1 and the IG1/IG2/IG3 framework * Hands-on exposure to tools in our stack: Wiz, HackerOne, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Okta, JAMF, or KnowBe4 * Experience supporting SOC2 or PCI audits * Jira workflow and dashboard configuration experience * Background in GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or security program management * Experience working in an organization operating under a parent- or partner-company compliance context WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE * ICs and Engineering Managers have measurably less coordination toil—30-40% of their program overhead returned to implementation and advisory work * CIS IG1 sustained at or near 100% with automated evidence pipelines, expanded beyond engineering to all departments * Centralized intake and governance live; SLAs for vulnerability remediation and request response published and enforced * At least one full periodic review cycle (quarterly access review or monthly vulnerability triage) fully operationalized with documented evidence within 90 days * BCP program established and validated via tabletop exercise within the first year * Leadership receives a clear, consistent security score and metrics report;
