Proteins are the molecular machines of life, used for many therapeutic, diagnostic, chemical, agricultural and food applications.
Designing and optimizing proteins takes a lot of expert knowledge and manual effort, through the use of custom computational and
biological tools.
Machine learning is revolutionizing this space, by enabling high-fidelity protein models. At Cradle, we offer a software platform
for AI-guided discovery and optimization of proteins, so that biologists can design proteins faster and at scale. We are already
used by clients across biopharma, biotech, agri-tech, food-tech, and academia.
We're an experienced team of just over 100 people. We've built many successful products before and have enough funding for
multiple years of runway. We are distributed across three offices in Amsterdam, Boston, and Zurich, alongside a few remote
colleagues.
We offer our employees a very competitive salary, a generous equity stake in the company and a wide range of benefits and career
progression opportunities.
We are looking for a (Senior) Scientist to join our Large Libraries team and drive the development of novel high-throughput
screening capabilities. In this role, you will work on developing novel methods to screen protein variant libraries (e.g.
antibodies) that complement our existing yeast display and FACS capabilities. You will push beyond established protocols and
develop methods to interrogate vast sequence-function landscapes, generating massive-scale datasets with >10^6 data points. These
datasets will power the Cradle AI/ML platform models, strengthening design recommendations, accelerating protein optimization, and
deepening our understanding of protein performance. Over time, your efforts will enable our customers to engineer better proteins,
faster across biotechnology applications.

THE ROLE At Ore Energy, we are on a mission to fundamentally expand the amount of energy society can reliably harness and use, helping move civilization toward a more abundant energy future. We are doing this by developing long-duration, utility-scale iron-air batteries that provide safe, low-cost, multi-day energy storage for electricity grids and data centers. As we move from breakthrough technology pilots toward large-scale industrial implementation and scalable production, our team is growing rapidly. We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and human-centric People & Culture Partner to join our team in Amsterdam and own our internal people operations. Working closely with leadership and our dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner, you will take full ownership of the employee journey after a candidate signs their offer letter. Blending high-level HR strategy with hands-on compliance and day-to-day execution, you will design the people playbook from the ground up as we prepare to scale our physical footprint. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Employee Lifecycle Ownership: Design, scale, and execute all internal HR operations from day-one onboarding, relocation logistics, and contract management to offboarding. * Dutch Labor Law & CAO Compliance: Act as the internal expert on Dutch employment law (Arbeidsrecht) and sick-leave protocols (Wet Verbetering Poortwachter). Assess, implement, and maintain compliance with relevant Collective Labor Agreements (CAOs) as we scale our industrial workforce. * Culture & Engagement: Champion Ore Energy’s values, developing targeted initiatives that foster collaboration, psychological safety, and a high-performance culture across our international team. * Performance & Career Development: Implement and facilitate structured performance management systems, continuous feedback loops, and internal career development pathways. * Comp & Benefits Administration: Oversee local payroll inputs, health insurance administration, the Dutch 30% ruling applications, and the future rollout of critical company benefits (including our upcoming pension scheme). * Leadership Advisory: Act as a strategic sparring partner for line managers and executive leadership, providing clear guidance on team design, employee relations, and conflict resolution. YOUR PROFILE * Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience within a fast-growing scale-up, startup, or dynamic industrial/tech environment, ideally with experience leading or owning the local HR function. * Legal & CAO Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of Dutch labor law (Arbeidsrecht), sick-leave protocols (Poortwachter), local compliance standards, and Dutch collective labor frameworks (CAOs). * Scale-Up Mindset: Highly comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities. You enjoy switching seamlessly between high-level organizational planning and granular administrative tasks. * Linguistic Skills: Professional fluency in both Dutch and English (written and spoken) is an absolute requirement to effectively navigate local legal frameworks and support our highly international team. * Collaboration Style: Exceptional communication and listening skills. You know how to build trust quickly across a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and commercial professionals.
