THE ROLE The IT and AI Enablement function exists to make Legora itself run as well as the product we sell: secure, automated, and compounding over time. The Director of Workplace Technology owns the on-site technology experience across every Legora office — the rooms that connect, the day-one onboarding that just works, the buildouts that come up clean — and leads the Workplace Technology Leads who own each major site (Stockholm, London, New York, Sydney, Denver). You set the standards the sites run on, own the function's budget and vendor framework, and are the technology counterpart to Workplace. This is a build-the-function role: the standards, the playbooks, and the team are yours to shape. What You'll Be Doing * Lead and grow the five Workplace Technology Leads — one per major site (Stockholm, London, New York, Sydney, Denver) — hiring, developing, and holding a consistent bar across all of them. * Set and own the global standards every site runs on — hardware, AV and conferencing, network, physical-security infrastructure, and the day-one onboarding bar — so a Legora office feels the same wherever it is. * Own the Workplace Technology budget and vendor framework globally: forecast with Finance, standardize vendors and contracts, and feed the site budgets that Workplace owns. * Partner with Workplace on every buildout and expansion — owning the technology scope (AV, network, and badge / camera / cabling commissioning) within their fit-outs, from requirements at kickoff to a clean first day of business. * Work with Information Security on access, network, and device controls, with IT Systems on the network spine and endpoint estate, and with People on onboarding. * Run the function on Legora's shared service desk and AI-native ITSM (Serval) — common SLAs, automated routing, and the agentic automation that lets small on-site teams punch above their weight — and decide when each site needs its own Lead, and when Leads need staff. Who You Are * 10+ years in IT / workplace technology, AV, or facilities-adjacent technical operations, including multi-site or global responsibility and managing managers or senior ICs. * A builder of functions — you've set standards, hired teams, and made distributed sites feel like one company. * Credible hands-on and with the business — you can debug a meeting room and hold a budget conversation with Finance in the same day. * A strong cross-functional partner across Workplace, Security, IT, People, and Finance — you land shared outcomes without turf wars. * Comfortable across time zones — you keep five sites from Sydney to Denver aligned, and build the async habits that make that work. * Standards-minded and pragmatic — you know when to enforce one global way and when to let a site adapt. ROLE OVERVIEW: The Director is an executive leader responsible for the strategic health and financial performance of the EMEA Services organisation, delivering high-quality professional services that drive customer success with Neo4j. Reporting to the Global VP of Professional Services, you will oversee a multi-layered organisation, providing direction to hands-on Sub-Regional Managers who oversee the day-to-day regional delivery and technical execution of projects and regional staff (Consulting Engineers and Engagement Managers). Your mission is to build the "Graph Consulting Engine" of the future. You will focus on high-level resource strategy, regional margin optimisation, and fostering a culture of excellence across EMEA. You are managing the business unit that ensures our enterprise customers successfully transition to a relationship-first data paradigm on the cutting edge of Generative AI. This role balances team leadership, cross-departmental alliance building and strategic customer relationship management to ensure exceptional outcomes and customer satisfaction. Working closely with sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders, the Director plays a pivotal role in the company's growth through service excellence and customer success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizational Leadership & Strategy: * Direct and mentor a team of Sub-Regional Managers, ensuring consistent delivery standards across the hemisphere. * Define the long-term regional roadmap for services, aligning headcount growth with Services bookings forecasts and emerging graph use cases (e.g., Knowledge Graphs for GenAI, COEs, etc.). * Drive regional "Service Productisation," working with Regional Managers to turn bespoke service engagements into repeatable, scalable service packages. * Partner with Product and Engineering to turn bespoke graph solutions into repeatable, scalable service offerings. Financial & Operational Governance: * Total P&L accountability for the EMEA region, including revenue attainment, gross margin targets, and organisational utilisation. * Regional Revenue Attainment: Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual Professional Services revenue targets for EMEA * Gross Margin %: Maintain regional delivery margins by balancing internal headcount costs against billable rates and third-party partner usage. * Services Attach Rate: Increase the percentage of software deals that include a strategic services component (Discovery, Architecture, or Implementation). * Govern regional capacity planning to ensure Sub-Regional Managers have the headcount and skills (e.g., Cypher, Data Modelling, Agentic Frameworks) to meet demand. * Billable Utilisation (Regional Average): Maintain an optimal blended utilisation rate across all sub-regions, ensuring the team is productive without risking burnout. * Backlog Conversion Velocity: Monitor the speed at which "Sold" services are converted into "Recognised Revenue" by ensuring Sub-Regional Managers kick off projects promptly. * Forecasting Accuracy: Maintain high precision in 90-day revenue and resource forecasting to inform global hiring and capacity decisions. * Customer & Platform Impact: * Time-to-Value (TTV): Shorten the window between contract signature and the customer’s first successful "Graph Query" or production use case. * Customer Satisfaction (CSAT/NPS): Achieve target scores for post-engagement surveys, ensuring high-quality delivery across all sub-regional teams. * Renewal & Expansion Rate: Collaborate with Sales/Account Teams to ensure services-led accounts show higher platform retention and expansion into new graph use cases. * Organizational Scaling & Talent: * Leadership Development: Success in coaching and promoting high-potential individual contributors into management or "Principal Consultant" tracks. * Partner Leverage Ratio: Increase the percentage of delivery hours handled by certified Graph Partners to allow internal teams to focus on the most complex, high-margin advisory work. * Employee Retention & Engagement: Maintain low voluntary attrition rates across EMEA Services organisation through effective culture-building and career pathing. * Risk Management: * Oversee regional risk management, acting as the final territory executive escalation point for the most complex or high-risk commercial engagements. Cross-Functional & Sales Alignment: * Partner with the EMEA Sales VP to integrate services strategy into the "Big Deal" motion, ensuring services are positioned as a strategic accelerator, not just a line item. * Collaborate with the Partner/Alliances team to build a robust ecosystem of third-party integrators, augmenting internal capacity with certified graph partners. * Advocate for the "Voice of the Regional Customer" within the global leadership team to influence the platform’s technical roadmap. QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of experience in Professional Services or Management Consulting within the Enterprise Software/Data space.Manager of Managers: At least 5 years of experience leading a multi-layered organisation with direct responsibility for subordinate people managers. Proven success managing a $5-10M+ P&L in a high-growth SaaS or Database environment.High-level fluency in the Graph Database landscape (NoSQL, RDF, Property Graphs) and an understanding of how graph technology solves enterprise-scale data silos.Experience navigating the complexities of regional expansion, specifically the cultural and legal nuances of operating across EMEA. Ability to design organisational structures and processes that scale beyond individual heroics.Ability to drive consensus across Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure regional goals are met.Data-driven: Proficiency in using PSA and CRM data to identify trends, forecast revenue, and justify headcount investment.Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field; MBA highly preferred, given the heavy focus on business operations and P&L management. * Experience working with offshore and nearshore partner models * Experience creating and leveraging Salesforce/Certinia professional services booking forecasts, resource planners and utilisation reports to analyse regional business. * Experience with Gong and Tableau Reporting tools preferred. ABOUT THE TEAM The Issuing team owns the Stripe card issuing product end to end from the APIs and backend services that power spend cards, debit cards, and charge cards, to the dashboard and embedded components that businesses use to manage their card programs. We build the infrastructure and interfaces that let platforms and businesses instantly create, distribute, and control payment cards at scale, and we're responsible for the full cardholder lifecycle across commercial and consumer issuing. We're at an inflection point. Issuing is expanding into new geographies, new card categories (stablecoin, healthcare, consumer credit), and deeper partnerships with major platforms. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the intersection of financial infrastructure, developer-facing APIs, and end-user product experience, and it requires someone who can lead technically across a complex, fast-moving domain. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Define and drive the technical strategy for Issuing, including multi-year architecture decisions across backend services, APIs, and user-facing surfaces. * Own end-to-end technical solutions for critical systems, authorization flows, spending controls, cardholder management, and card program configuration, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and operationally sound. * Identify and lead infrastructure investments that unlock new issuing models, including geographic expansion, new card program types, and platform-level extensibility. * Collaborate closely with product managers, design, and cross-functional partners across Issuing, Authorization, Clearing and Settlement, and Balances to drive cross-cutting initiatives from design through launch. * Make principled build-vs-reuse decisions and produce clear technical roadmaps that balance near-term delivery with long-term platform health. * Advise engineering and product leadership on technical trade-offs and their downstream implications for the business. * Drive engineering standards, tooling improvements, and operational rigor across the team. * Mentor and grow senior engineers, investing in their technical development and helping build the next generation of technical leaders on the team. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 10+ years of industry software engineering experience, with demonstrated impact at a staff or equivalent scope (leading initiatives across multiple teams or systems). * Proven track record designing and shipping large-scale user-facing products with distributed backend systems that are both highly available and financially correct. * Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects end-to-end — from requirements through architecture, delivery, and post-launch iteration. * Strong API design instincts and the ability to build simple, developer-friendly interfaces over inherently complex financial and regulatory requirements. * Ability to influence technical direction and align multiple teams without direct authority, with excellent written and verbal communication across engineers, product, and leadership. * High ownership mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, able to define the problem and the plan, not just execute a predefined spec. * Clear, precise communication on complex technical topics for both technical and non-technical audiences. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience building or operating real-time transaction processing systems with strict latency and correctness requirements (authorizations, payments, ledgering, settlement). * Familiarity with card network protocols, BIN sponsorship models, or issuing bank integrations (Visa, Mastercard, or equivalent). * Experience in regulated financial services—compliance-aware system design, audit trails, financial controls, or KYC or KYB flows. * Background in embedded finance, card-as-a-service, or Banking-as-a-Service platforms. Experience with high-volume event-driven architectures and the reliability and consistency tradeoffs they introduce. * Track record of mentoring senior engineers and contributing meaningfully to engineering hiring and culture.
