strategic people topics. Please note that this is a 12-month fixed term contract.
As a Regional HR Specialist, you'll combine hands-on HR operations with business partnering and project work. You'll work closely
with managers and stakeholders across the business, helping them navigate people topics while continuously improving how we work.

The opportunity Are you excited about becoming our newest addition to the Europe, Middle East, and Africa team within Employer Branding at Hitachi Energy as our Employer Branding Trainee with a focus on Sweden? In this role you will drive Employer Branding, recruitment marketing, and university relations initiatives in Sweden but with occasional projects on an EMEA level that aim to position Hitachi Energy as THE destination employer in the energy sector. This role is a fixed-term contract role of 12 months. Proactively work with business partners to develop recruitment marketing strategies for business units across Sweden with the help of your supervisor. Support university relations such as career events, local partnerships, and engagements. This includes owning and managing the full campus activity calendar for Sweden. Be a brand ambassador on campus and attract students to Hitachi Energy where applicable. You will have business ambassadors supporting you. Stay up to date with Employer Brand and recruitment marketing best practices. Support the Employer Branding team on internal Inclusion activities. Your background Current or recently completed studies within Employer Branding, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, HR, or other related education. No previous experience in Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, and/or Digital Marketing needed but a keen interest in learning about these topics. Ability to think “big picture” across countries and business initiatives and translate into actionable priorities. Strong commitment to and passion for incorporating Inclusion into everything you do. You have great interpersonal and communication skills and the wish to collaborate in a dynamic and multicultural environment. Demonstrate initiative as well as project and/or event skills. Fluency in Swedish is required with a good working knowledge of English, both written and spoken to be able to interact with various stakeholders across Sweden and EMEA. To reach the next stage in our exciting growth plans, we are now looking for a Regional HR Operations Specialist to join our global People Team, based in Helsinki. As our Regional HR Operations Specialist you will have holistic ownership of our entire employee lifecycle at our offices in Finland and support HR operations across Region North. Your central focus will be to quickly understand and build on the core HR foundations that are already in place and take our HR service delivery to the next level. Payroll Specialist The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of payroll and benefits administration across multiple jurisdictions. This role partners closely with Finance, HR, employees, external vendors, and contractor providers to ensure an excellent employee experience, full compliance with statutory and company requirements, and a continuous focus on process improvement and operational excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Process payroll across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely payments, payroll changes, accruals, overtime, bonuses, and reporting. * Administer employee benefits programs, including healthcare, pensions, and other regional benefit schemes. * Manage payroll and benefits queries, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely manner. * Maintain relationships with payroll, benefits, and contractor service providers, ensuring effective service delivery and compliance. * Support employee onboarding by providing payroll and benefits guidance to new hires. * Prepare payroll-related financial documentation, including journals, invoices, purchase orders, and audit support. * Maintain payroll and benefits resources on the company intranet, promoting employee self-service and process efficiency. * Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, new vendor implementations, and benefits harmonisation initiatives across regions. REQUIREMENTS MANDATORY: * 3+ years' experience in high-volume payroll processing in Ireland, managing multiple priorities with overlapping deadlines. * Experience using payroll systems such as CloudPay or similar payroll software. * Strong understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and statutory compliance requirements. * Advanced Excel skills. * Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-payroll stakeholders. * Proven commitment to delivering excellent customer service to employees and stakeholders. * Ability to deliver work within agreed timelines while maintaining accuracy. High level of personal accountability, professionalism, and discretion. * Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
