BUILD SOMETHING MONUMENTAL FOR HEALTHCARE! At Tandem Health we’re reimagining healthcare by putting clinicians first. Our platform - designed by clinicians, for clinicians - is built on deep insight into real-world pain points, with intuitive medical notes and workflows that truly support patient care. We’re a fast-scaling health-tech company backed by top investors and expanding globally. We move fast, stay curious, and believe building something that matters starts with an extraordinary team. If you're passionate about impact and innovation, we'd love to meet you! ABOUT THE ROLE You care deeply about how products feel. Not just how they work, but how they look, respond, and guide users. At your previous role, you were probably the person who noticed the small details others missed, the awkward interaction, the unnecessary friction, the moment where the product could have been better. At Tandem, you’ll bring that mindset to healthcare, a space where most software still feels slow, clunky, and frustrating to use. You’ll help us change that! As a Design Engineer, you’ll work closely with designers, product, and other engineers to build experiences that are fast, intuitive, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Your core strength lies in frontend development, crafting high-quality user interfaces - while still being comfortable working across the stack when needed. You’ll take ideas from rough concepts to polished features in production, with a strong sense of ownership over both the technical implementation and the final user experience. This is a role for someone who moves quickly, has strong product taste, and cares about getting the details right - because those details are what make a product feel great. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Own and ship user-facing features end-to-end, from early concept to polished production experience. * Work closely with designers to translate ideas into high-quality, interactive UI, and iterate quickly based on feedback. * Build and maintain fast, responsive, and scalable frontend applications, primarily using modern web technologies. * Contribute across the stack when needed - integrating APIs, shaping data flows, and ensuring a smooth end-to-end experience. * Continuously refine and improve the product by identifying friction, inconsistencies, and opportunities for better UX. * Take ownership of UI quality, performance, and consistency across the product. * Use the best modern tools (including AI-assisted development) to ship high-quality features quickly. WHAT YOU BRING * Strong experience building modern frontend applications with TypeScript and React. * A clear strength and interest in frontend development - you care deeply about UI, performance, and user experience. * A sharp eye for design, interaction, and detail, you care about spacing, motion, responsiveness, and polish. * A product mindset - you think in terms of user outcomes, not just technical tasks. * Ability to move quickly from idea to implementation, with a high degree of ownership. * Comfort working across the stack when needed (e.g. APIs, backend integrations). * Experience shipping production systems and understanding how to balance speed with quality. * Strong collaboration skills - you enjoy working closely with designers and other engineers. BONUS POINTS * Experience in the healthcare industry or with health-related applications. * Experience working in design-heavy or product-led teams. * Familiarity with tools like Figma and ability to collaborate closely on design systems. * Experience building LLM-powered interfaces or AI-driven products. LOCATION We believe the best ideas happen when we’re together. This role is based in our vibrant HQ in the Epicenter building in the heart of Stockholm where you will work primarily from our office to collaborate, connect, and build our culture. Velora is a digital healthcare provider focused on medically supported weight loss. We build products that make the patient journey smoother and help our care teams work more efficiently. Covering onboarding, payments and subscriptions, follow-ups, communication, knowledge content, and upcoming integrated care flows. Your impact will save lives. What you build at Velora helps more people access effective, medically supported weight loss, reducing their risk of serious conditions like cardiovascular disease and other obesity-related complications. Why now: We’re in a phase where we’re scaling and evolving both our internal platform (“Velora Tools”) and patient-facing functionality, such as portal experiences, information/FAQ, profiles and payments, notifications, and upcoming integrations (e.g., BankID and additional care flows). How we work: We build for the long term: clear architecture, well-structured integrations, and a codebase that’s easy to maintain. AI, Tooling & Collaboration Work efficiently and responsibly with AI — use it to boost productivity and quality while applying judgment about where it helps and where it doesn't (correctness, privacy, and security matter in a healthcare context). You're free to choose your own editor and AI tooling — we don't mandate a specific setup. Collaborate with designers in Figma for accurate UI/UX implementation. Explore AI tools for development, testing, documentation, or automation. Participate in code reviews across both frontend and backend. What we offer Build work that actually matters: You’re not optimizing vanity metrics, you’re building product that helps people live healthier, longer lives. Ship fast, see it used immediately: Your work lands in real patient and care-team workflows within weeks, not quarters. Tight loops. Real feedback. Real outcomes. Full-stack TypeScript, Go end-to-end across React + React Native, Hono on Bun, Drizzle, PostgreSQL, and GCP. You'll ship features that touch UI, APIs, data, and production, like it should be. Hard problems in a high-trust domain: Payments and subscriptions (Stripe webhooks), identity and onboarding (Firebase, BankID), clinical workflows, reliability, and UX where mistakes actually matter.
