WHO WE ARE ABOUT STRIPE Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. ABOUT THE TEAM As a leading player in the internet economy, Stripe has a responsibility to protect itself, our users, end customers, and the broader financial ecosystem from harm. Fraud Operations proactively reduces fraud, making it difficult and unprofitable for fraudsters to carry out attacks through Stripe. We build scalable, high-judgement investigation and review operations while minimizing user friction. We work across products, customer segments, and markets and serve as a core pillar of Stripe’s risk strategy. WHAT YOU’LL DO Stripe is hiring a Team Lead to develop a team of Operations Associates (OAs) within Fraud Operations in Bangalore. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational execution and performance of your workflow(s), including queue health, SLA attainment, and decision quality. This role requires staying close to the work, remaining hands-on in complex casework (QA and targeted production), modeling high-quality decisioning, providing real-time coaching, and serving as the first-line escalation owner. You will also drive unit-level operational excellence. To be a fit, you will have a coaching mindset, proven ability to communicate at different levels, a track record of driving operational performance, and a passion for inspiring a team to deliver outstanding results. RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage a team of Operations Associates; set clear expectations, coach performance, and build a high-judgement culture rooted in strong decisioning and customer empathy. * Own individual performance metrics of Operations Associates and ensure the team consistently meets throughput, SLA, and quality targets. * Perform specific unit-level execution, including: defining, clarifying, and evolving core processes, leading team meetings, and performing root cause analyses for defects. * Support team operations including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and intra-day coverage planning to meet SLAs; provide interview feedback and help maintain a high hiring bar. * Maintain hands-on casework at a level that enables effective coaching and escalation coverage, without compromising core people-lead responsibilities and team performance management. * Own and evolve SOPs and decision frameworks for your workflow(s); drive process adherence and consistency through clear guidance, change management, and reinforcement mechanisms. * Represent your workflow(s) in cross-team forums, surface operational pain points, propose improvements, support rollouts, and drive adoption within your team. * Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or time-sensitive cases within your unit, in partnership with global fraud stakeholders * Drive process adherence and consistency across your team through robust quality programs and calibration. * Participate in leader development and represent Bangalore workflows in global enablement sessions/onsites as needed. WHO YOU ARE You are a hands-on people leader and operational owner who thrives in a fast-paced fraud investigation environment. You run a strong performance cadence through clear metrics, coaching, and rigorous decision quality. You can take ambiguous operational problems, use data to diagnose root causes, and drive changes that stick, through influence, alignment, and follow-through, not just instruction. You bring sound judgment, calm execution under pressure, and a bias toward data-backed solutions and measurable improvements in both fraud outcomes and user experience. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Experience leading fraud, risk, trust & safety, or investigations operations in a high-scale environment. * Proven ability to manage a team of frontline operations associates and own their individual performance/productivity. * Experience with payments, risk, compliance, or financial industry operations. * Proven ability to define and operationalize team-level metrics (e.g., accuracy/quality, SLAs, throughput) and use data to drive team priorities. * Strong operational background in new process launches, service delivery, and building operating models at the unit/team level. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting operational updates and representing the team in escalations in English. * Skill and credibility doing the core work of a user facing team with a high bar for quality, and a willingness to lead by example. * At least 3+ years of direct people management experience; this includes handling performance management and proactively coach/mentor individuals. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Strong fraud domain depth across investigation workflows, risk vectors, and decision frameworks * Experience in optimizing unit-level fraud review operations through process redesign and tooling improvements. * Experience with payments risk (CNP/card testing, ATO, merchant fraud, transaction fraud) and familiarity with how upstream detection and downstream enforcement interact. * Strong analytics proficiency (comfort with data to track team performance) and comfort partnering with data science/engineering.

This is a career-changing opportunity to work alongside world-class engineers and scientists on a mission to reimagine what machines can do. You will help us build the digital nervous system of intelligent agents, not by refining existing tools, but by inventing new systems entirely. Your work will directly shape how intelligent machines learn, adapt, and act in the physical world. We are now extending our models into robotics, where they act as an adaptive layer between higher-level learning systems, such as reinforcement learning (RL) and vision-language-action (VLA) models, and low-level actuators. This layer can significantly reduce the sim-to-real gap and address the core deployment challenges of the real world in general-purpose robotics. The systems you help design will be exercised against real-world constraints and tested on real robotic platforms. To do this exceptionally well, we need deeper, hands-on understanding of the limitations of RL in real systems. You will look into how our model interacts with RL policies in practice and help quantify Intui’s capabilities alongside state-of-the-art RL in real-world deployments. This role is about fixing some of the largest problems within general-purpose robotics today. Our software stack is built from scratch in C/C++. We do not rely on common ML frameworks. We build what we need. The work is deep, interdisciplinary, and exploratory. You will translate theory, papers, and experimental results into robust, real-time systems that can be tested in simulation and, increasingly, on real robotic platforms through partners. What You’ll Do Explore and evaluate RL approaches in the context of robotics and embodied control of humanoid robots as well as other form factors Design and run experiments to understand the underlying model dynamics, limitations, and failure modes, especially while adapting to real-time changes Prototype and test learning-based components into low-level, real-time systems Collaborate with other research engineers to guide model development and research direction through evidence, experiments, and clear reasoning Help us understand what to test, how to test it, and why. What You Bring Strong research background, preferably a PhD, or an exceptional MSc with substantial experience in robotics and state-of-art RL / VLA models Hands-on experience applying reinforcement learning to real hardware Solid understanding of robotics fundamentals, control systems, and physical constraints Systems-level programming mindset, with proficiency in C/C++ or similar low-level languages Ability to translate papers, theory, and experimental ideas into working code and experiments that others can understand, test, and build upon Curiosity and rigor when working in poorly charted territory Bonus Signals Experience with low-level robotic control systems (e.g., PID), real-time systems, or hardware-in-the-loop setups Familiarity with sim-to-real challenges and mitigation strategies Exposure to vision-language-action models or other high-level learning systems for robotics Background in control theory or physics Who You Are Research-driven and comfortable working where answers are unclear Thoughtful, evidence-oriented, and willing to challenge assumptions, including your own Collaborative and generous with insight, not territorial about ideas Motivated by building fundamental capabilities rather than shallow demos

Department of Ecology The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is one of Northern Europe largest academic hubs for ecological research and offers a dynamic and excellent research environment with modern infrastructure. The Department of Ecology has about 150 employees, of whom around 40 work at the Grimsö Research Station in Bergslagen. Together, the SLU Ecology Centre and Grimsö Research Station conduct research on sustainable agriculture and forestry, plant protection, nature conservation, and wildlife management, and provide scientific knowledge to inform Sweden and Europe’s environmental policies. About the position Project Can we foresee the outcomes of public policies, political choices and other decisions? We are finding out by developing serious games and running them using AI. We are building large-scale simulations of societal processes (environmental negotiations, nature conservation policies, and hybrid-threat scenarios) in which every actor is an autonomous AI agent powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). These agents simulate real-world stakeholders, from government ministers to interest groups, and interact through natural language in complex strategic settings. We then run thousands of iterations to map the distribution of outcomes. This effort is part of a new research program Articulating Complexity ( https://www.slu.se/articulating-complexity/ ) hosted at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and led by Guillaume Chapron (Docent). It is funded by grants from the Swedish Research Council (VR), the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (Mistra), and the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (FORMAS). Our goal is to build a novel methodology at the intersection of AI, ecology, political science, and complex system analysis that may change how policies are designed and stress-tested and how governments prepare for crises. We are looking for ambitious research engineer to join this effort. Tasks and duties You will be the person who makes the simulations actually run. Concretely, this means: Building the LLM-agent infrastructure (from an existing working implementation). Each agent has a multi-tier memory and an affect state that modifies both prompts and available actions, and a strategic reasoning layer that tracks reputation, commitments, and mental models of other agents. Extending and maintaining the multi-agent simulation framework. A simulation runs dozens of concurrent LLM instances, communicating through structured message-passing protocols. You will develop and maintain this framework, including the validation methodology. Running large-scale Monte Carlo simulations at scale on GPU-enabled HPC clusters (e.g. NAISS). Publishing and dissemination of the project results. You will co-author scientific publications from the project. The research will produce papers at the intersection of computational social science, ecology, security studies, and AI. You will work closely with the PI (Guillaume Chapron https://www.slu.se/en/profilepages/c/guillaume-chapron/) and a postdoctoral researcher in computational social science (to be recruited concurrently). The three of you will form the core team. Your profile Required A degree in computer science, engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field. A Master or engineering degree is sufficient; a PhD is welcome but not required. Strong programming skills, especially in Python, and sufficient understanding of machine learning/deep learning to work effectively with modern generative AI systems. Ability to assess and incorporate cutting-edge generative AI developments into the project. Experience with software engineering practices such as version control, testing, documentation, modular design, and reproducible workflows. Ability to work independently, debug complex systems under time pressure, and take ownership of technical infrastructure. Desirable Experience with LLMs, including programmatic use through APIs and local deployment. The candidate should be able to select, configure, adapt, and critically evaluate LLMs for research applications. Experience with deep reinforcement learning, agent-based modelling, or multi-agent systems, including the design of simulation environments, interacting agents, decision rules, feedback mechanisms, and scenario-based analyses. Experience with high-performance computing: batch job submission, GPU workflows, and managing large-scale computational experiments. Interest in the application domain: nature conservation, environmental policy, political science, geopolitics and security studies, complex adaptive systems. You do not need a formal background in these fields, but you should find them interesting. Assessment criteria Applications will be assessed on the following: Demonstrated technical ability. We care more about what you have built, than about what courses you have taken. A GitHub portfolio, a deployed system, a well-documented side project, or a track record of solving hard AI problems will carry more weight than a list of credentials. Autonomy and resourcefulness. This is a small team doing frontier work, so the role requires someone who can diagnose problems independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, and keep complex systems running. If that excites rather than worries you, this is the right position. Collaborative disposition. You will work daily with questions from very different disciplines: ecology, political science, geopolitics. The ability to communicate technical constraints and possibilities to non-technical collaborators is essential. Interpersonal skills will form an important part of the assessment. Location: The position is based either at Grimsö or at Uppsala, with a possibility to be partly based at another academic Swedish institution with a core expertise in AI and machine learning. Form of employment: Fixed-term employment 12 months with the possibility of prolongation. Scope: 100%. Start date: As agreed, as soon as possible after recruitment. Application: Please submit your application before deadline 14 July 2026. You can submit your application by clicking the button below. This is a shortened advertisement. Please refer to the full advertisement on the SLU website for complete information about the position and details on what to include with your application.
Join Truecaller – The place where innovation meets impact! Truecaller's mission is to build trust in communication by making it safer, smarter, and more efficient. Born in Sweden, trusted by the world, and here’s why we stand out: * We are trusted by over 450 million active users every month across 190+ countries * We identify over 15 billion calls daily, helping users avoid spam and scams * We are powered by a team of 450+ employees from 45+ nationalities We always look for people who take initiative, own their work, and keep raising the bar. An entrepreneurial mindset matters here, especially when it turns bold ideas into real actions. We stay collaborative and focused, always searching for smarter paths forward. If you want to make an impact and grow with a team that inspires millions, you’ll fit right in. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the team behind Truecaller's Recommendations and adVantage, our AI-powered performance advertising platform. It is a multi-disciplinary team of ML engineers, data scientists, backend engineers, and data engineers building the retrieval, ranking, and contextual-bandit systems, and the real-time serving and data infrastructure beneath them, that decides what Truecaller recommends and shows to hundreds of millions of users. The role sits at the intersection of technical depth and people leadership: you will set direction across an applied-ML stack, keep a highly specialized team healthy and growing, and turn a research-heavy roadmap into shipped, reliable systems. What you'll do: * Lead, grow, and retain a high-performing team of ML engineers, data scientists, backend engineers, and data engineers, investing deliberately in each person's development and career path. * Set technical direction across the recommendation and advertising ML stack - retrieval, ranking, contextual bandits, and conversion modeling - along with the real-time serving and data platforms that support them. * Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery, balancing near-term product and campaign commitments against long-term platform health. * Partner closely with product, data science, and other engineering teams to translate business goals - revenue, engagement, advertiser outcomes - into a clear technical roadmap. * Push for reuse: config-driven, composable platforms and closed feedback loops rather than one-off models and pipelines. * Drive rigor in experimentation and evaluation, from offline metrics to online A/B tests, so model changes ship on measured impact. * Keep production systems reliable at scale, owning the latency, quality, and cost of models serving hundreds of millions of users. * Run regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations, and recruit and onboard new talent as the team grows. * Stay close enough to the technical detail to make informed calls, unblock your team, and earn credibility with senior ML and backend engineers. What you bring in: * Proven experience leading or managing engineering or ML teams, ideally in recommendations, ranking, ads, search, or a similarly ML-heavy domain. * A solid grasp of applied ML in production - retrieval and ranking, experimentation, model serving, and the data that feeds them - enough to engage credibly on technical trade-offs. You do not need to be the strongest modeler in the room; you need to lead the people who are. * Working knowledge of backend and data engineering practices - architecture, real-time systems, pipelines, and warehousing - enough to reason about the full stack your team owns. * Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align specialists with different skill sets toward shared goals. * A track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and at scale. * Comfort operating in ambiguity and making pragmatic trade-offs between speed and quality. * A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders. It would be great if you also have: * A hands-on background in ML engineering, data science, or backend development before moving into management. * Experience with recommender systems, contextual bandits or reinforcement learning, or performance advertising and ad-serving systems. * Familiarity with large-scale data and ML platforms (Spark, Kafka, Airflow, feature stores, model serving). * Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also fine). * Experience scaling teams in a high-growth tech environment. What we offer: We support growth through learning resources, leadership programs, mentoring, and real hands-on work. People can move between teams and projects to build new skills and keep things interesting. We offer clear internal mobility and a transparent path for progression, with leaders who stay involved and provide guidance throughout the year. In addition, you will benefit from: * A comprehensive compensation package: We offer a competitive salary, 30 days of paid vacation, private health insurance, parental leave top-up, pension, and wellness contributions. * Modern tools to do your best work: Choose your preferred computer and phone within our budget, so you can work comfortably and efficiently. * A people-focused office culture: We value in-person collaboration and follow an office-first model, with some flexibility. Our offices offer a vibrant environment with opportunities to learn, connect, and recharge, from breakfast, lunch, and well-stocked snack stations and quiet spaces to team activities such as movie nights, tech meetups, and cultural events. There's something for everyone. * Truecaller’s “Lab Days” offer a space for imagination: 5 times per year for 3 days, where everyone steps away from their normal tasks to explore new, bold ideas and build things they’ve always wanted to. It’s a space where curiosity leads the way, and prototypes take shape. Some concepts even make it into production, and a few have grown into real features used by millions today. Lab Days allow you to be creative, learn fast, and help shape Truecaller's future. Come as you are: Truecaller is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We believe that a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences strengthens our products and our culture. No matter where you're from, what language you speak, or how you identify, we value what makes you unique and would love to get to know you. Check out Life at Truecaller - Behind the code: https://www.instagram.com/lifeattruecaller/ Sounds like a great opportunity?
