We’re looking for an experienced Data / Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and wants to work with modern cloud and data platforms for exciting clients across Stockholm We’re looking for someone who can move comfortably between software engineering, data engineering, cloud architecture and distributed systems — designing solutions that are scalable, reliable and maintainable in real production environments. What you'll work with As a consultant at SwedQ, you'll work closely with engineering and product teams to design and build modern data-intensive systems. Depending on the assignment, that could mean building event-driven platforms, designing data architectures, developing backend services, improving large-scale data processing, or helping teams make better architectural decisions. For this specific position, we are looking for someone with significant exposure to the Google Cloud platform and services such as: BigQuery Pub/Sub Dataflow / Apache Beam Dataproc / Spark Cloud Storage Cloud Run and GKE Cloud SQL / Spanner Vertex AI and the broader GCP data ecosystem Beyond experience with individual cloud services, we value an understanding of the principles behind them and an interest in exploring different technologies and architectural approaches That might include technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, Snowflake, Databticks, dbt, Airflow, terraform or equivalent services across cloud providers. What we're looking for You have a strong software engineering foundation and several years of experience building production systems. You're comfortable discussing topics such as distributed systems, scalability, event-driven architectures, batch vs. streaming, data modelling, storage technologies, APIs, observability, reliability and cloud infrastructure. You probably have strong experience with Python, Java, Go, Kotlin, Scala or another modern engineering language, and you're comfortable working with SQL when solving data-intensive problems. As a consultant Technical ability matters, but consulting requires more than writing good code. You'll work directly with clients, understand their problems, challenge assumptions when necessary and turn ambiguous requirements into pragmatic technical solutions. We therefore value people who: Communicate technical concepts clearly Enjoy collaborating with both engineers and stakeholders Take ownership from problem to production Are curious and continuously explore new technologies Can balance technical excellence with business needs Enjoy sharing knowledge and helping other engineers grow Why join us? At SwedQ, we’re an international team with people from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences — and we believe that makes us stronger, both as engineers and as a company. We work with ambitious companies at the forefront of technology, giving you the opportunity to take on challenging projects, explore modern technologies and continue developing in the direction that interests you. But work is only part of it. We genuinely enjoy spending time together — whether it’s after-work activities, trips, sports, dinners, gaming or just finding an excuse to have some fun as a team. Most importantly, we listen to our consultants. We want to understand what motivates you, what you want to learn and where you want your career to go. Your interests and ambitions matter when we look at projects and opportunities. We want SwedQ to be a place where you can grow professionally, work with great people and have a good time along the way.

SwedQ is a consultancy that has lately proven to have a model that works for people who want to build something rather than just deliver hours. Year after year we have served clients across a wide range of industries (still intentionally excluding gambling and weaponry), and we have grown steadily in revenue, in team size and in the weight of what we deliver. Now we are building AWS into a business area of its own. Both as a reseller and as the team that delivers the projects that follow. We are looking for the person who is going to run it. You get two things on day one. The first is a client base where we already deliver consultants but where the cloud consumption sits somewhere else entirely. The second is a blank page. What the role actually is You own the P&L. Revenue, margin, pricing, budget, the lot. You decide what we sell, at what margin, and how we deliver it. The first job is the money that is already close. We have clients who trust us and who buy their cloud elsewhere. Going and getting that is where you start. After that comes new mid market clients in the Nordics, companies in the 200 to 2000 employee range where we can actually make a difference instead of being supplier number fourteen. You will own the relationship towards AWS and towards our distributors, and push our partner status forward. You will sit with the client's architect as often as you sit with their CTO, and you need to hold your own in both conversations without bringing someone along to translate. And you will work closely with our consultants, because we do not sell things we cannot deliver. When the business area grows, you hire into it. You report to the CEO. Who we think you are You have five years or more in technical sales, business development or partner business within cloud, IT consulting or distribution. You understand the economics of cloud resale, meaning margin structure, commitments, cost optimisation, and not only how to close a project. You come from a technical background, or you have worked close enough to the technology that you can reason about architecture and migration paths on your own. You either hold AWS certifications or you take them within six months, and we pay for them. You want ownership of a result rather than a quota. If a target handed to you by someone else is what motivates you, this is probably the wrong company. Swedish and English, both working level. Experience with Swedish framework agreements and public procurement is a plus, as is having built a business from nothing before. What is in it for you? The question goes back to you: what do you want (with common sense or not)? We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the company in a literal sense. That means taking on the commercial challenges as well as getting a portion of the company in the future. SwedQ culture SwedQ began with siblings who brought in people they knew. Those people recommended friends, and from there the company grew further through open head hunting. Over time we have built a diverse team with different backgrounds, experiences and insights. We made sure to amplify that by embracing independence and accountability while driving value creating work. We are 25 people, not 1300. Nobody hands you a territory inside somebody else's plan. Sounds like you? Apply, or just get in touch and ask.
