Om tjänsten

At Nel, we deliver electrolyser solutions to customers internationally. Our projects require close coordination between the

customer and EPC partners, engineering, procurement and supply chain, manufacturing, quality, logistics, commissioning and site

activities.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for complex customer projects using Nel’s Alkaline

and PEM technologies.

You will take over projects following contract award and lead them through execution, delivery, commissioning, customer acceptance

and contractual close-out. You will be accountable for keeping the project team aligned with the contract, schedule, cost, quality

requirements and customer commitments.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge you enjoy, this could be an exciting opportunity to bring your project leadership and

industrial delivery experience to a global company contributing directly to the green transition.

YOUR NEW ROLE

As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of executing assigned customer projects using Nel’s Alkaline and PEM

technologies. The primary focus will be on delivering projects relying on Alkaline technology (Atmospheric and Pressurized).

You will be the main project interface towards the customer and will lead the cross-functional Nel team responsible for delivering

the project. Your responsibility is to keep the project aligned with the contract and to maintain control of scope, schedule,

cost, cash flow, quality, risk and customer commitments. When problems arise, you will be expected to establish the facts, bring

the right people together, define the available options and drive the issue towards a decision.

Some projects will involve technology or products that are still being industrialised. In these cases, you will work closely with

the relevant technology and product teams to understand maturity, dependencies and delivery risks and reflect them in the project

plan and customer communication. Technical design and product approval remain with the responsible technical functions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Take responsibility for assigned customer projects from sales/contract handover through delivery, commissioning, acceptance and

contractual close-out.

  • Act as the main project interface towards the customer and establish clear communication, decision-making and escalation

routes.

  • Lead the cross-functional project team, ensuring clear responsibilities, deliverables, priorities and deadlines across

engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics and site activities.

Establish and maintain the project execution plan, schedule, budget, resource plan, risk register and project reporting.
  • Manage the project against the contract, identify changes to scope or contractual requirements and lead the preparation and

negotiation of change and variation orders within your authority.

  • Work closely with Technology, Product Management and Engineering where product maturity or technical decisions affect project

commitments, schedule or risk.

  • Ensure that quality and HSE requirements are incorporated into project execution and that significant issues are followed

through to closure.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvements of our methods by applying lessons learned from completed projects to future

deliveries.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced professional who has already managed complex customer projects and understands what it means to

be accountable for their delivery.

You should be comfortable working directly with customers and senior stakeholders, leading teams whose members do not report

directly to you, and dealing with the commercial and contractual consequences of changes, delays and competing priorities.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in an industrial, EPC, energy, process-technology or

equipment-delivery environment where engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and customer/site activities must come together to

deliver a contractual scope.

You bring with you:

Higher education in engineering, business administration, project management or another relevant discipline.
Typically 8–10+ years of relevant project management experience, including complex customer delivery projects.
Experience from industrial, manufacturing, EPC, energy, hydrogen, process or technology environments is an advantage.
Solid commercial and contractual understanding, including risk management and customer negotiations.
Experience with project governance and senior stakeholder communication.
Proficiency in relevant project planning and reporting tools.
Able to build, understand and actively manage an integrated project schedule, rather than relying solely on a project planner.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

You do not need to be an electrolyser technology specialist. You do, however, need enough technical understanding to challenge

assumptions, understand dependencies and risks, and turn technical input into a project plan and clear customer communication.

WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM WORKING WITH US

An opportunity to work in a company in a leading position in the hydrogen and clean energy market.
Responsibility for international customer projects in the hydrogen industry.
The opportunity to work across Nel’s Alkaline and PEM technologies.
A role with direct exposure to customers, EPC partners, engineering, manufacturing and site execution.
  • The opportunity to influence not only individual projects but also how Nel executes future projects through lessons learned and

improved project practices.

Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, pension and insurance schemes.
