Turn ship physics into software people actually use At Cetasol we build the monitoring and analytics platform that commercial fleets use to cut fuel consumption, understand how their vessels really perform, and stay on the right side of CII and EU MRV reporting. A growing part of that platform is predictive maintenance: catching when an engine, generator, thruster, or the vessel as a whole starts behaving differently than it should, before it becomes a failure. Getting there takes two things that rarely live in the same person: an understanding of the physics behind how these assets actually behave, and the engineering skill to ship that understanding as a working product. We're looking for that person. Gnothis AB is seeking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building experimental systems in a laboratory environment. The role combines microfluidics integration, instrument prototyping, and Python-based automation. This is a permanent position based at our HQ, located at the campus of Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden). Gnothis, founded in 2015 and supported by highly innovative industrial professionals and technology developers, is on a mission to develop a new frontier for single molecule DNA sequencing; to break the mold on how sequencing is used as a clinical tool for the diagnosis of complex diseases. Gnothis technology integrates a wide range of cutting-edge sciences ranging from nanotechnology, photophysics, optics, surface chemistry, biochemistry and computational science. Since we have taken significant steps forward and now need to solve the remaining crucial challenges before commercialization; for the right person this is a unique opportunity to become a valuable member, to use your “think-outside-the box” mentality with aim to develop a new world-class technology platform! Our instrumentation, software and analysis team currently consists of four engineers and we are now expanding the team as we scale development of the system. Initial Project The first major task will be to design and integrate a microfluidics subsystem into our existing microscope prototype – to plan, test, order and add already commercially available components to a final prototype. This includes selecting and integrating a commercial microfluidics system (e.g. Elveflow or similar), designing a custom sample chip holder and fluid interface, integrating control into an existing Python control software, and establishing practical operation and cleaning procedures. The work is supported by a biochemistry team, but we are seeking for the right candidate who can make confident engineering decisions based on previous hands-on experiences connected to eg. microfluidics and laboratory automation. Responsibilities Mechanically integrate new devices into a prototype life-science instrument. The initial focus is on liquid sample handling, such as flow and temperature control. Responsibilities As our Financial Controller, you will drive the company’s financial success by ensuring reporting accuracy, robust compliance, and strategic control over day-to-day financial operations. You will report directly to the CEO. Your main responsibilities will be to: Own and manage the company’s financial operations and reporting structure Ensure high-quality financial reporting towards investors, board, auditors, and authorities Prepare board material, financial presentations, forecasts, and KPI reporting Coordinate and manage relationships with bookkeeping firms, auditors, banks, investors, and external financial partners Develop and improve internal financial processes, controls, and reporting systems Support international expansion including subsidiaries, sales offices, and cross-border financial structures Drive budgeting, liquidity planning, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning Ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and professional financial governance Support operational scaling of the company together with management and technical leadership Potentially take responsibility for HR administration, contracts, insurance, and internal operational processes depending on profile and interest Your Profile Key qualifications for the position include: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics. Several years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on financial reporting, accounting, controlling, and compliance Experience working with investors, boards, auditors, and external financial stakeholders Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate governance A deep understanding of Swedish GAAP. Direct experience with US GAAP or IFRS is a competitive advantage Experience from scaling companies, international operations, startups, medtech, deep-tech, or manufacturing environments is highly valuable Experience with subsidiaries, international reporting structures, or US operations is a strong plus Fluency in Swedish and English We are looking for a structured, reliable, and highly detailed-oriented professional who enjoys taking ownership and creating order and clarity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
