As a dental hygienist, you work preventively with oral health by examining the oral cavity, taking X-rays, and performing dietary assessments and various tests. You treat patients by removing tartar, administering pain relief, and performing periodontal treatments. The role also includes assisting with orthodontics and providing important information on how patients can best care for their teeth.
