About the role Capture Energy is a Nordic BESS EPC contractor and system integrator. The Tender team turns each incoming RFQ into a complete solution offer: technical design, price and commercial terms. As Tender Technical Engineer, you are fully responsible for the technical side of every tender. You own the conceptual design, pick and size the equipment, and make sure what we offer is technically sound and can be built as offered. You are the technical voice of the Tender team, both inside the company and toward customers. You work closely with Product, Execution and Operations, but you own the tender's technical solution yourself. This role will be based in Göteborg, Sweden with a hybrid work place setting. We encourage the candidate in submitting application even if he/she does not tick all boxes of requirements. Please be clear in motivating your strong suit. Key responsibilities Conceptual design for every tender * Produce the conceptual design package for each tender: Single Line Diagram (SLD), site layout, and design documents that explain the equipment selection and sizing. * Size the system (BESS, PCS, transformers, MV/HV equipment, cables, auxiliary power) against the customer's requirements, use case and grid connection conditions. * Define the grid connection, protection and control concept at a level that is enough for pricing and for committing to the offer. Customer feasibility studies and RFIs * Support customer feasibility studies and RFIs, focusing on the technical content. * Advise customers on system configuration, grid connection and technical trade-offs at an early stage. Technical point of contact * Be the single point of contact for technical questions in each tender, internally and externally. * Handle technical clarifications, questions and deviations with customers during the tender phase. Working across functions * Work with Product, Execution and Operations to build and keep up enough product, execution and O&M knowledge to prepare offers independently. * Consult Product for a sanity check on critical technical decisions. * Feed lessons learned from projects and operations back into tender design standards. Handover at contract award * Put together the final technical offer and the technical compliance and deviation matrix. * Hand the technical scope over to Execution in a structured way, making clear what was offered, on what assumptions, and why. Tender support * Support the non-technical parts of a tender when needed, such as cost input, document preparation and tender coordination. Qualifications Required * Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc or BSc). * Solid work experience in the power system or industrial sector. * Hands-on experience producing SLDs, layouts and other technical design documents. * Experience with the grid connection process in at least one Nordic country, working with TSOs/DSOs such as Svenska kraftnät, Energinet, Fingrid, Statnett or regional grid companies. * Familiarity with: * Nordic grid codes and RfG (EU 2016/631) and their national implementations * EMS and power plant control * control theory as applied to inverter-based resources * relevant IEC/EN standards * Understanding of Nordic ancillary services: FCR-N, FCR-D, FFR, aFRR and mFRR. Bonus * Experience with BESS projects. * Experience in tender, proposal or pre-sales engineering in an EPC or supplier setting. * Knowledge of protection coordination and settings, and of power system studies (load flow, short-circuit). * Knowledge of PSS/E or PSCAD simulation. Personal qualities * Works independently and takes ownership of their technical solution from concept to handover. * Structured, and comfortable under the fixed deadlines tendering brings. * Explains technical topics clearly to both technical and commercial audiences. * Willing to step outside a purely technical role when the team needs it. Language * Fluent in English. Swedish or another Nordic language is a merit.
ABOUT THE JOB At Capture Energy, we’re transforming our automation architecture and are looking for a Software Engineer – Operational Technology & Cloud Integration to build core services on our Capture Controller while ensuring seamless data flow to our cloud infrastructure. You’ll create lean, maintainable applications and clean interfaces between our operational technology and cloud systems. We primarily develop in Go, but we’re equally interested in strong Python engineers with BESS or energy experience who are willing to transition to Go. The right domain expertise, learning ability and hunger matter more than years on a resume. In this role, you’ll be a critical integration point between our automation systems and cloud platform, working closely with both our Senior TwinCAT Engineer and Cloud team to evolve our architecture. You Will * Develop applications running on the Capture Controller to handle energy optimization, state management and control logic * Communicate with TwinCAT via ADS (Automation Device Specification) to coordinate PLC operations and sensor data * Design and implement data schemas and APIs for reliable, bidirectional data exchange between the controller and cloud services * Architect a clean separation between real-time PLC functions and business logic in the controller application * Work closely with both the TwinCAT engineer on the OT side and the Cloud team on the IT side to define data contracts and integration points * Build robust error handling, logging and monitoring for production control systems We Expect You To * Have solid production experience in Go or Python. You’ve shipped code that matters and understand what can go wrong in production * Have strong systems-level thinking across state management, concurrency, real-time data handling and distributed systems * Have hands-on experience with energy systems, BESS or battery management. This is critical and the hard part to teach * Have experience with industrial protocols or hardware integration, even if not ADS specifically * Be comfortable working across both operational technology (OT) and IT infrastructure layers * Have a genuine curiosity about how things work and the drive to learn and ship in a fast-moving environment * If Python is your primary language, have a demonstrated ability to learn new languages and a genuine interest in transitioning to Go as your primary development language * Be fluent in English, both written and spoken Nice To Have * Existing Go experience * Familiarity with Beckhoff TwinCAT or other PLC ecosystems * Experience with ADS, OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT or similar industrial communication protocols * Background in embedded systems, IoT or software running close to physical equipment * Knowledge of battery energy storage, grid services, energy optimization or similar domains * Experience with data pipelines, message queues or time-series databases This is a permanent full-time position based in Stockholm (Sweden) or Fredrikstad (Norway), with an on-site setup and flexibility to work from home several days per week. For Python applicants transitioning to Go, you can expect structured onboarding with pair programming, mentoring and clear Go adoption milestones. We’ll invest in your ramp-up. In return, we ask that you commit to the transition. We offer competitive salary and benefits based on experience and location and are prepared to offer market rates for the right candidate in either Stockholm or Fredrikstad. Ready to apply? Send us your CV and a brief note about your experience with control systems, energy systems, cloud integration or similar production-critical development. If you’re a Python engineer, tell us about your learning track record and why you’re interested in Go. We look forward to hearing from you.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – THE TECHNICAL BACKBONE OF OUR BESS PROJECTS We are a small, fast-growing company within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with activities in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. We're building something from the ground up, which means there's a short distance from idea to action — and plenty of room to shape how we do things. We're not looking for a ninja who already masters everything at expert level. We're looking for a Swiss army knife a solid, curious, and flexible electrical engineer who can follow our projects from offer to operation, and who thrives on the role (and the company) evolving along the way. We're a Scandinavian company, and our shared working language for technical/professional matters is English. ABOUT THE ROLE You'll become a central technical resource, involved all the way through: you'll help our sales team find the right solution based on customer needs and our product catalogue of BESS and inverters, you'll quality-assure solutions and supplier calculations, and you'll follow projects technically through execution including alignment with suppliers and DSOs. You'll be based primarily in a back-office role, with site visits when it makes sense our site manager holds day-to-day responsibility on site. We're an organisation under development, where things are continuously adapted — and where you'll have influence over how the processes should look. That's why we place great emphasis on flexibility and a willingness to help shape the role as we go. The role will either be based on our HQ in Gothenburg or our Copenhagen office. YOUR MAIN TASKS · Support sales with technical solution proposals based on our product catalogue, which can become an RfQ · Draw and update SLDs · Review installers' technical solutions and suppliers' calculations (short-circuit, protection coordination, cable dimensioning) · Own our Installation and Test Plan (ITP) and cross-check across suppliers so the plan is coherent · Verify protection relay settings and cable dimensioning · Take technical lead in aligning suppliers and the DSO during execution · Review and approve as-built documentation before it's sent to the customer · Prepare documentation for DSOs · Support the O&M team technically as needed WHO WE THINK YOU ARE · Experienced electrical engineer within high/low voltage ideally with a background from BESS, PV, or the wind industry · Have hands-on experience with relay protection, cable dimensioning, and ideally ITP coordination across suppliers · Used to reading and critically assessing technical documentation including as-built · Thrive as a coordinator and reviewer, rather than being the one with your hands in everything yourself · Flexible, curious, and eager to help build something up the role will evolve, and you see that as an advantage, not a drawback · Experience across several different suppliers/manufacturers (not just one "universe") is a big plus SOUND LIKE YOU? Send your application and we'll review it as soon as possible, or reach out to Olof Eriksson, +46 72 644 92 42, olof.eriksson@captureenergy.eu for an informal chat about the role.
