Join the Revolution in Commercial Vehicle Tech at Coretura! At Coretura we build the software platform at the heart of next-generation commercial vehicles. Our customers build their vehicle-level safety arguments on top of what we deliver, which means safety can’t be added at the end. It has to be part of the architecture from day one. We’re looking for a System Safety Architect who wants to make that happen. What you’ll be doing You’ll own the platform safety architecture, safety strategy and safety case. You’ll define safety concepts and mechanisms and allocate them across compute, operating systems, middleware and platform services. This is a hands-on role close to the engineering work. You’ll make system-level decisions and stand behind them in conversations with engineers, customers, assessors and leadership. You’ll also guide and mentor our teams in safety-driven design, helping make safety a natural part of how we build. We believe you bring Experience creating, owning and defending safety cases that have supported product release in automotive or another safety-critical industry. You have strong communication skills in English, with the ability to make complex safety topics clear to both technical and non-technical audiences. To thrive in this role, you also have: Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 or an equivalent standard across the full safety lifecycle A track record of defining and reviewing safety architectures for mixed-criticality systems The ability to balance safety against cybersecurity, performance, cost and delivery constraints Why Coretura? At Coretura you’ll have real influence over a platform that ends up in vehicles on the road. Safety isn’t a box to tick at the end of a project here. It’s a core part of how we design and deliver, and your work will shape decisions across the entire platform. You’ll join an environment where technical depth is valued and where architects are trusted to make the hard calls. You’ll work alongside skilled engineers who care about getting things right, and you’ll have the opportunity to shape not only the safety architecture but also how the role and the safety work evolve as the platform grows. Join the Revolution in Commercial Vehicle Tech at Coretura! At Coretura we build one software platform for commercial vehicles, and we deliver it as a single product to multiple customers including Volvo and Daimler. It is never finished: every change we make reaches both manufacturers, often several times a week. That kind of tempo is only possible if you can prove a release is solid before it leaves the building. That is why we built Customer Zero. What is Customer Zero? Customer Zero is the Coretura canary OEM: a real, production-shaped tenant run as if it were an external customer, with its own identities, its own network, and its own access boundary, outside the internal Coretura network. It is the first real recipient of every release, and the point is simple: find what is broken or rough before Volvo, Daimler, or the next OEM does. What you will be doing You own the technical environment that makes Customer Zero credible, not just that it exists, but that it genuinely behaves like the environment of a real customer, by making sure the build environment and development tools work in an OEM context. In practice, that means building and maintaining the infrastructure, keeping the developer portal and development environment operational. Setting up routine validation on every release to make sure that every release is better than the last. You will team up with our Customer Zero Lead and work closely with Quality Release Engineers and own the technical cloud domain of the simulated customer environment. Communication is at the heart of the role. Customer Zero sits between teams, so you will spend much of your time sharing what you find, explaining why it matters, and aligning developers and stakeholders around it. You communicate in a way that builds trust and brings people together. What you will be working with: AWS infrastructure provisioning as code with Terraform and Virtual Engineering Workbench Our developer portal, built in Next.js and Bun Docker, GitHub actions, Gerrit, other CI systems Artifactory, ECS, Grafana Playwright, Python or other test frameworks We believe you bring Previous experience developing embedded software Solid experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform on AWS Hands-on experience running container-based workloads with Docker and ECS/Fargate Confidence in GitHub, building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or CI tools. Experience from functional safety or cyber security development, such as ISO- 21434, ISO-26262 or ISO 27001, is a plus rather than a requirement. Why this role? The fun part is that nothing written above is set in stone. It will change, it must change, as we learn more and the demands on us grow. You are part of that ride. We’re redefining how automotive software is built. As a joint venture between Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, Coretura blends startup speed with industry strength. Ever looked at a system and wondered who on earth decided this? Here’s your chance to be the who. Coretura Digital is our development kit, internal developer platform, enterprise IT, AI platform, and data and observability. Plenty of good ideas, and they all need to point in the same direction. As Lead Architect, reporting to our CDO, you’re the one who makes that happen. What you’ll do You’ll own the target architecture for all of Digital, which mostly means deciding things. A few examples of what will land on your desk: The Digital target architecture and principles. Yours to write, and yours to keep current Engineering standards for all of Digital, worked out together with our architects and tech leads The calls on what’s standard, what’s configurable and what’s off-limits as more customers come on board Security and regulation built in from the start with our Security Hub, rather than bolted on the week before an audit How AI shows up across everything we build, together with our AI Hub You’ll represent Digital in our Architecture Forum, where the big decisions are made, and take the day-to-day calls within Digital yourself. Together with our Head of System Architecture, you’ll also shape how our cloud and the software in the vehicle work together. No automotive background needed, we’ll get you up to speed. What you bring You’ve made big architecture calls before, and some of them turned out wrong. You know which ones, and why. That’s exactly the experience we’re after. You probably around a decade of experience in software, a lot of it as the architect who actually decided, ideally somewhere that grew fast. You go deep in cloud, data, AI or enterprise IT, and distributed systems, multi-tenancy and APIs that other developers depend on are familiar territory. We’re looking for someone who leads through technical credibility and can bring architects and engineers from different teams together around a shared direction. You’re just as credible with executives as with senior engineers, and you know how to guide people toward the solution that works best for everyone. Why Coretura? At Coretura, you’ll be empowered to make a real impact. We value initiative, ownership, and a proactive mindset. You’ll have the freedom to drive projects forward, contribute ideas, and help shape the future of commercial vehicle technology. Our lean, innovative team is always learning and adapting, so your contributions will truly matter. Next steps Ready to build the future of commercial vehicles?
