Industrifonden is Sweden's venture capital fund. As an independent foundation, our mission is to make our society stronger by investing in innovative Nordic companies led by exceptional teams. In life science, we invest primarily in therapeutics, healthtech and enabling technologies. Our ambition is simple: to enable more world-class Nordic science to reach patients. THE ROLE Industrifonden is looking for a scientifically deep, commercially experienced and exceptionally driven investment professional to join our Life Science Team. The role is full-time and based in our Stockholm office at least three days a week. We invest in innovative early-stage life science companies, typically at seed and Series A, with initial tickets of €1–5M and significant reserves for follow-ons. The scope of the role will be calibrated to experience; senior candidates are expected to lead investments and work closely with boards, CEOs and co-investors as a trusted partner. As an Investment Professional, you will: * Build and maintain a strong network across the Nordic research, startup and investor communities, and represent Industrifonden externally * Support and develop portfolio companies, including serving as a board member or observer * Source, evaluate and lead investments from first meeting through investment committee and closing * Lead, conduct or support due diligence * Share knowledge with and learn from the rest of the team * Help shape how Industrifonden invests, including our processes and ways of working WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR * A strong scientific foundation in life science, with a PhD, MD or equivalent scientific training in a relevant field * 8+ years of relevant experience in life science investing, R&D, business/corporate development or operational leadership (academic research experience alone is not sufficient) * A track record of leadership and of successfully driving things forward: specific programmes, deals, companies or teams where the outcome depended on you * Analytical rigour and the judgement to know when to go deep and when to move fast * Curiosity across therapeutics, healthtech and enabling technologies, with significant experience in at least one of these areas * Experience of working in tight-knit, collaborative, high-performing teams * Fluency in English It is also a strong advantage if you have: * Life science venture capital experience * Hands-on drug development and/or business development experience in industry (biotech or pharma) * Entrepreneurial experience * Board or advisory experience with early-stage life science companies * Fluency in Swedish or another Scandinavian language WHY INDUSTRIFONDEN For more than four decades, Industrifonden has backed Nordic founders turning scientific breakthroughs into companies with global impact. * Patient capital.
