Rerun

We're building the data stack for Physical AI. The Rerun SDK viewer is loved by some of the best robotics and spatial-AI teams in the world, and Rerun Hub is live in private preview managing petabytes of data. Demand is strong, and we need a sharp, high-agency generalist to own the high-leverage work that turns it into a business. At the core, you'll spend most of your time on go-to-market and business operations, but the real job is spotting what's broken or missing and fixing it before anyone asks. It's a true build-and-ship role so if you like owning messy, ambiguous problems end to end and seeing your work show up in the numbers, you'll do well here. This is one of our first commercial hires, so you'll be helping build the machine, not slotting into one that already runs. We'd strongly prefer you in Stockholm, where our founders are, so you'd get plenty of in-person time and we'll consider relocation from elsewhere in Europe for the right person. WHAT YOU'LL DO The mix will shift with what the company needs most, but here are exmaples of the types of projects you’d work on: * Build and run our commercial systems: set up and automate our go-to-market stack such as lead capture and triage, task routing, automated outreach, and pipelines that turn sales conversations into structured, usable data. Utilise and build tools so the commercial engine runs with as little manual effort as possible. * Turn community signals into opportunities: dig into activity across our community and developer channels to work out who's engaged, where they work, and when to reach out. * Support our events: build an annual events calendar and help plan meetups and coverage across our key hubs. * Support content: help our founders get their ideas out: spot conversations worth joining, and help shape posts and replies. * Assess inbound: field incoming interest and enquiries, and judge what's worth pursuing. * Unblock company-building: take on whatever the highest-priority bottlenecks are as we grow, across any part of the business. * Help with finance and Investor Relations: support finance questions and help standardise how we handle investor relations. WHO YOU ARE * Sharp and structured: you make quick, well-reasoned decisions and can bring order to ambiguous, messy situations. * High agency: you start things, run things, and follow through independently without needing a playbook. * Technically curious: you genuinely enjoy tech; you build or automate things outside work, tinker with side projects, go to hackathons, and build with AI tools. * Strong raw ability: you learn fast and can pick up almost anything the business throws at you. * Excited to build in a startup: you want a role where you own more and build faster than you can where you are now. This is a role where you can grow enormously, so it could suit someone early in their career (a recent grad or junior consultant looking to make the leap) or a more experienced builder who wants real breadth and ownership. * A physics/engineering/quantitative-adjacent background is a plus, but it's your curiosity and drive that matter most. HOW WE WORK AT RERUN * We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. * This role is on-site or hybrid, with a few days a week in our Stockholm office. * We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter * The team you'll join has members in European and US timezones * We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build * We offer competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks paid vacation, and whatever hardware and software you need to do your job

SOFTWARE ENGINEER, INFRASTRUCTURE At Rerun, we're building a new multimodal data stack for Physical l AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it to happen. Rerun's open source project is already loved by some of the best teams in the world. Our commercial product, Rerun Hub, is a catalog and storage engine that already handles petabytes of robot training data for early customers, and we're now ready to onboard more teams. Read our latest post on what we're building: A new data layer for robot learning. You'll join a small team building Rerun Hub, and you'll own the control plane that makes it run, including the Kubernetes operator that automates deploying Hub into customer environments. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON * Own our Kubernetes operator: the control plane that provisions, configures, and manages Rerun Hub deployments across our own cloud infrastructure and inside customer accounts. This is real software engineering: CRDs, controllers, reconciliation, APIs, tests, releases. * Deep customer onboarding: When a customer brings new infrastructure requirements, you extend our control plane to accommodate that. Your reconcilers will make Rerun Hub work end-to-end from networking, IAM, storage to cluster configuration. * Production reliability and scale: Observability, CI/CD, incident response, and the deployment experience from local dev through staging to prod. * Follow-the-sun on-call with the rest of the team. WE'D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE * A strong software engineering background. You think of infrastructure as software you build, not just systems you operate. * Deep Kubernetes experience, specifically with the operator pattern: you've designed CRDs, written controllers (controller-runtime / kubebuilder / operator-sdk), and shipped them to production. Earlier-career engineers with strong Go and distributed-systems/kubernetes fundamentals plus genuine interest in this work are equally welcome; we're hiring across levels. * Proficiency in Go, and ability to read and contribute to an asynchronous Rust codebase (or eagerness to learn; much of our stack is Rust). * Solid experience with AWS, infrastructure-as-code (ideally Terraform/OpenTofu), and production-grade observability. * Comfort being customer-adjacent: going into a customer's cloud account and doing the deep plumbing to onboard them. * Great communication in English, an ownership mindset, and a curious, helpful attitude. BONUS * Experience with high-throughput, time-series, or analytical database systems * Background in data-intensive infrastructure * Interest in robotics, AR/VR, ML, or simulation HOW WE WORK AT RERUN * We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a growing hub in San Francisco. * We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter. * We're spread across European and US time zones. Rather than one fixed window, each team keeps a few hours of daily overlap that fits where its members are, and every role posting says what that looks like. * We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build. * We offer competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks paid vacation, and whatever hardware and software you need to do your job. * Parental leave: 12 weeks full pay for every parent, alongside your local statutory leave entitlements.

At Rerun, we're building a new multimodal data stack for physical AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it to happen. Data volumes grow big quickly with these applications and performance matters everywhere; from micro interactions to high throughput jobs. With multimodal data stack we mean tools for extraction, ingestion, storage, querying, streaming, and visualization of temporal multimodal data. Rerun's open source project is already loved by some of the best teams in the world, and focuses on visualizing and handling multimodal logs. You'll join a newly formed team building out Rerun's commercial offering for ingesting, indexing and querying multimodal data at scale; a purpose-built analytical database that's already in private preview with signed customers and running at petabyte scale. WHAT YOU'LL DO * You will work on a cloud-native analytical database system built for multimodal (often time-series) data. * The system is built in Rust and makes extensive use of Apache Arrow. It supports specialized queries to handle robotics-style multimodal logs (very sparse and wide tables) and domain specific operators (e.g. related to 3D transforms). * Note: prior robotics knowledge is not necessary * You will help the system scale as usage grows, evolving the architecture, distributing work across nodes and systems, and tackling the bottlenecks that appear as load and data volumes increase. * You will design, implement and operate the core pieces that make this data-intensive system highly scalable, reliable and observable. WE'D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE * 3-5 years with Rust, or a strong background in another systems language (C/C++) and real motivation to pick up Rust * Experience at a managed database product, data-platform, or high-traffic system operating at scale * Experience building backend systems in production, with a growing appetite for design and architecture ownership * Experience scaling a system as demand grows; evolving the architecture to handle much more load or data, not just making one component faster * Familiarity with distributed systems and their tradeoffs (coordination, consistency, failure modes, scaling across nodes) * Comfort with the layers between your code and the hardware; you don't need to be a database-internals specialist, but you enjoy digging in * Familiarity with concepts like filtering, indexing, or query execution * Good communication in English; you'll be in a close-knit remote team NICE-TO-HAVES * Exposure to Apache Arrow or Apache Datafusion * Cloud deployment experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), even in a supporting role * Interest in machine learning, robotics, AR/VR, or simulation * Experience with GPU workloads HOW WE WORK AT RERUN * This role is open to candidates based in Europe. * We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a growing hub in San Francisco. * We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter. * We're spread across European and US time zones. Rather than one fixed window, each team keeps a few hours of daily overlap that fits where its members are — for this team, that's a few hours of overlap in the afternoon CET. Most of all we hope you're excited to build some really cool technology that will have a real impact on the world with us! If you find that you don't fit neatly into this or any of the other open roles, we're not that rigid and are generally looking for great developers who can contribute to what we're building. Just go ahead and apply to the one you think is the closest and we'll take it from there!
