YOUR MISSION AT VOI As an AI Engineer at Voi, you will build and own the AI platform that our business depends on. Close to 400 colleagues use Voi’s AI platform every day, and teams across the company have already built over 300 apps on our in-house app-building platform. This is a hands-on builder role in a small, senior team where your work will have company-wide impact. You will keep our existing AI platform fast, secure, and reliable, while building the next generation of capabilities that help Voi move faster, work smarter, and continue leading in applied AI. You will: * Own and improve Voi’s AI platform, including our in-house app-building platform, Claude stack and future AI capabilities. * Build robust backend services and full-stack, user-facing features that make the platform reliable, scalable, and easy to use. * Develop the next layer of AI infrastructure, such as agentic platforms, enterprise search, knowledge bases, knowledge graphs and open-weight model access. * Strengthen security, identity and access control across the platform, including permissions, security reviews, audits and integrations with company systems. * Work closely with the AI team, platform team and colleagues across Voi to understand needs, test ideas and ship useful tools quickly. * Help decide what we build, buy or integrate, with a focus on control, long-term value and avoiding vendor lock-in. * Explore the AI landscape and bring promising ideas into the platform when they are ready to scale. WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK We are looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys building platforms that many people rely on. You combine strong backend skills with product thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues. We believe you bring: * Strong experience building and running robust, scalable internal platforms, ideally including AI platforms. * A solid backend engineering background, with experience building applications and services at scale. * Hands-on experience with LLMs in production, such as agents, tool use, MCP, RAG, search or evaluation. * Full-stack ability and a good sense of UX, especially when building tools for non-engineers. * Good understanding of identity, authentication and access control, or a strong interest in going deeper in this area. * A practical builder mindset, with the ability to turn ideas into working software and iterate quickly. * Autonomy, ownership and good judgement in open-ended technical areas. * Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to different audiences. Don’t meet every requirement? If you are excited about this role and our mission, and have relevant, transferable skills, we encourage you to apply – even if you don’t check every box. WHY VOI? Working at Voi is more than just a job; our People Promise includes a personal voyage where you will grow as a professional and be a part of a team and culture that builds something meaningful for society. In addition to this, you’ll have the opportunity to: * Own a platform that is already critical to how Voi works and shape what comes next. * Join Europe’s #1 micromobility operator and one of the fastest-growing scale-ups. * Help build agentic, knowledge and open-model infrastructure from the ground up. * Work in a small, senior team with high trust, fast decisions and a clear mandate. * Get “skin in the game” through our employee options programme. * Enjoy unlimited free Voi rides and a dog-friendly office. * Work together with inspiring, motivated and fun colleagues towards a common goal. * Join the micromobility revolution and be a part of creating sustainable cities made for living, free from noise and pollution.
