ROLE PURPOSE Own and build the composite production flow, centered on lay-up and laminate, balancing the work, putting investment cases in place, and establishing work instructions, to reach production targets and scale toward future capacity. CORE MISSION Build a composite production system X Shore can trust, from today's rate to its planned future capacity — anchored on three things: balancing, investment cases, and work instructions — while supporting the team that makes it happen. You'll work in a tight, hands on team where the laminate you shape, the flow you balance, the standard you set, and the investment case you build show up on the shop floor within weeks, not years. If you want to learn fast, build something from the ground up, and watch it become real boats on the water, this is that job. WHAT YOU'LL OWN • Balance the flow. Map and balance lay-up and laminate work alongside cut & kit, cure, paint prep, and joining so production runs at a steady, predictable pace. • Build the investment case. Spot bottlenecks early and make the data backed case to fix them. • Set the standard. Write and maintain the work instructions that keep every station consistent as we grow. • Bring the new version to life. Own the industrialization of our next model, from design handover to stable production. • Build the systems, don't assume them. Help establish ERP and MES in composite production as we scale, not just work within tools that already exist. WHAT YOU BRING • Hands on experience with composite processes (lamination, curing, paint preparation). • CAD skills and familiarity with Laminate Tools or similar software for digitalizing lay-up work and instructions • A data-driven problem solver who finds bottlenecks, makes the case to fix them, and brings R&D, purchasing, quality, and production along. WHAT'S GREAT TO HAVE • Laminate expertise. A deep understanding of form specifications, laminate design, and composite design for manufacturing is required. Knowledge of non-destructive testing is a plus. • Equipment know-how. Comfortable around curing ovens, cutting machines, CNC, laser cutting, pneumatics, and fixtures. Experience with laser measurement tools, such as a Faro laser tracker, is a strong bonus. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • A steady, balanced line instead of daily firefighting with bottlenecks solved before they cap our growth • Work instructions people actually use, on the floor, every day • Laminate quality that's right the first time, not caught at inspection • New introductions reaching production smoothly, with no late stage surprises Composite production, laminate most of all, is the link between X Shore's ambition and the water. Get this right, and every boat we build is better, faster, and more consistent than the one before it.
