ABOUT US We are building AI-driven legal and compliance technology that will redefine how companies navigate regulation and manage compliance. Our mission is ambitious and global. With a founding team that has previously founded, scaled, and exited technology companies with billion-dollar outcomes, we’re creating something transformative and need the best minds to join us. THE ROLE This is not a traditional in-house position, but a strategic and product-focused role where your legal expertise will directly influence the technology we build. As a Legal Engineer, you will play a foundational role in shaping both our product and how we serve our customers. You’ll work at the heart of a fast-moving team to help develop a best-in-class AI product while ensuring legal integrity and professional excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Be a core member of the product team, bringing legal thinking into every stage of product development. Translate complex law and legal practice into product logic, including the rules, concepts, relationships, context and logic our systems need to understand. Work closely with engineers and designers to turn that understanding into concrete product functionality - including requirements, knowledge and context structures, workflows, user journeys, test cases and evaluations. Use the product extensively to identify failure modes, edge cases and opportunities to improve how it handles legal work. You will also act as an expert for our first customers, gather feedback to inform product decisions, and help establish our company as a thought leader in AI and legal and compliance tech. WHO YOU ARE You are a hardworking and technically excellent lawyer who thinks conceptually and structurally about law and its application. You are interested not only in what the law says, but in how rules, exceptions, facts and legal concepts fit together, and you have an intuition for breaking complex legal problems into clear and workable structures - and do so as an independent problem-solver, someone who can take something fairly undefined, work out how to approach it and design a solution that lands in a clear and concrete output. We think you have worked 3+ years in a top-tier legal environment (e.g., leading law firm or in-house at a high-performing company) with experience of advising on regulatory frameworks, but dedication and fit matters more than tenure. You have a solid understanding of using frontier AI. You have spent meaningful time using and experimenting with current AI systems and understand their capabilities and limitations. You do not need to be a software engineer or have experience with coding tools, but you should be comfortable thinking about - or curious in learning - concepts such as context, prompting, agents, workflows and evaluation. Your legal specialization itself isn't the key factor. What matters more is your ability to move across legal domains, learn quickly and apply rigorous legal thinking to new problems. You thrive in high-performance environments and have a track record of delivering exceptional results. Experience from other legal jurisdictions, such as the US, UK, France or Germany, is a merit but not a requirement. This is an opportunity to join a company at the ground level and have a real impact on the future of legal technology. If you're looking for a challenge that pushes the boundaries of law and AI, we'd love to hear from you.
ABOUT US We're building the next generation of AI-driven legal and compliance technology. Our mission is ambitious and global. We're bringing clarity and automation to one of the world's most complex and underserved domains. We are a founding team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and the opportunity to shape the future of the industry. THE ROLE Our product spans rich interactive interfaces, distributed backend systems, and intelligent AI pipelines. We need engineers who can carry a product across all of it. This is not a role where you stay in one lane. You'll work across the stack, shipping features end-to-end: from the UI a customer sees, through the APIs and infrastructure that power it, to the AI systems that make it intelligent. We care about engineers who take ownership of problems, not just tickets. That said, we know mastery takes focus. Most engineers have a gravitational pull toward one area of the stack. We think of ours in three pillars. You'll work across all of them, but we expect you'll have deeper experience in one: UI & DESIGN Building rich, responsive UIs. You think in components, care about interaction design, and know how to make complex information feel simple. You're comfortable with modern frontend frameworks and have an eye for polish. PLATFORM & INFRASTRUCTURE Designing APIs, services, and the systems that hold everything together. You think in terms of event-driven design, domain boundaries, idempotency, and authorization. You care about making systems correct, observable, and scalable. AI & INTELLIGENCE Building the intelligent layer: retrieval pipelines, agent workflows, structured data extraction, and model integration. You're comfortable working with LLMs, designing prompts, and turning unstructured problems into reliable systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Ship features end-to-end — from UI to database to deployment * Build and evolve our product across the frontend, backend, and AI layers * Design and implement APIs, data pipelines, and agent-based systems * Collaborate directly with design, product, and other engineers to solve real compliance problems * Own the quality of what you ship — write tests, instrument observability, and debug production issues * Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape our technical direction WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Strong software engineering judgment — you can evaluate, steer, and ship reliable systems whether the code was written by you or by AI * Experience building and shipping product in at least two of the three pillars above * Comfort navigating across languages and paradigms — we primarily use TypeScript and Go * Ability to pick up new tools and technologies quickly and apply them with good judgment * A bias toward shipping — you'd rather iterate on something real than debate abstractions * Clear communication and a collaborative mindset BONUS POINTS * Experience building modern component-driven UIs with React * Experience designing event-driven systems, domain-driven services, or infrastructure-as-code * Experience building LLM-powered systems, retrieval pipelines, or AI agents * Understanding of core distributed systems principles: eventual consistency, idempotency, observability LOCATION This is an in-office role in Stockholm, Sweden. We believe the best products are built by teams that work closely together.
ABOUT US We're building the compliance operating system for a new era. Our mission is ambitious and global — bringing clarity and automation to one of the world's most complex and underserved domains. We are a founding team that has done this before, and we believe AI has created a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform how companies understand, execute, and demonstrate compliance. THE ROLE Few categories of this scale have yet to have their AI moment. Compliance is one of them. We have spent months under wraps building an ambitious product that will define this market. Now we are building out the founding commercial team to go capture it. The companies we serve operate in some of the most demanding regulatory environments in the world. Serving them well requires more than great technology — it requires people who understand their world deeply. In this role you will be that person: working alongside our commercial and product teams to bring genuine domain expertise to every customer conversation, from first pitch through to ongoing engagement. You will help prospective customers understand how Freda maps to their specific security and compliance reality, support onboarding and implementation, and ensure customers get real value from the product in their particular context. You will also help define how our product offering is shaped to meet specific domain requirements. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Work with prospective customers to demonstrate how Freda addresses their specific information security obligations and needs * Support onboarding and implementation directly — rolling up your sleeves to help customers get controls, tooling, and processes in place, not just advising from the sidelines * Build trust with security, engineering, and risk stakeholders across our customer base * Help shape how we position and talk about Freda within the information security and compliance landscape * Identify product gaps and opportunities from what you see in the market, and bring those back clearly to the product team WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You might come from an in-house security or compliance function, a consulting background where you were hands-on with implementation, or somewhere else entirely. What matters is that you've actually built and operated security programs — not just advised on them. You have developed a strong "gut feeling" — you can translate security and compliance frameworks into practical guidance for tech companies operating across different markets and growth stages. * Deep understanding of information security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g. ISO 27001, 42001, SOC 2, DORA, NIS2, CRA, and AI Act) * You've implemented security frameworks in practice — you know what it actually takes to get a company through a SOC 2 audit or run a quality ISO 27001 program, not just what the requirements say * The ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders — from CTOs and engineering leads to compliance teams — without hiding behind jargon * A product mindset: you're not just interested in the frameworks, you're interested in how technology can change how companies engage with them * Genuine enthusiasm for being part of an early team, where your work directly shapes what we build and how we grow * Fluent and opinionated about how AI can be applied to compliance work — comfortable using AI-assisted tools daily, able to judge where they add real value versus where human expertise is non-negotiable, and eager to push the boundaries of what's possible From day one, you will have real ownership and immediate impact. We are still a small team and are only getting started. For those who thrive, there is no limit to how far you can grow — in role, scope, and impact. LOCATION We have global ambitions from day one. We are hiring a commercial team to cover the Nordics, the UK, DACH, and France — and we are open to people working from our Stockholm office and traveling frequently, or being based in their local market.

Now we are building out the initial commercial team to go capture it. For the first time, compliance can be truly automated — continuously understood, executed, and demonstrated by design. That is what Freda is built to do. As Engagement Manager, you will get into the weeds with customers — understanding their compliance challenges, structuring the work, and driving change across a wide stakeholder landscape. This is a hands-on role: you are in the room, thinking strategically about where Freda can have the most impact, and making sure that value materializes. You will carry multiple accounts at once, building the engagement playbook as you go. Everything you learn will feed directly into how we build the product. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Own the customer relationship from onboarding through adoption, expansion, and renewal * Partner closely with each customer to understand their strategic priorities and ensure they get maximum value from Freda over time * Drive adoption for each customer — identifying new teams, users, and use cases over time * Run multiple engagements simultaneously, keeping all of them on track * Build the systems, tooling, and onboarding flows that let us scale — using AI to automate what would otherwise require headcount * Bring structured insight back to the product and founding team on what customers need WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You are structured and rigorous, comfortable with complexity, and someone who follows through. You earn trust quickly across a wide range of stakeholders and you know how to keep things moving without losing people along the way. A background in law, compliance, or regulated industries is a genuine advantage, but not a requirement. We are primarily looking for sharp judgment and the ability to get things done in a fast-moving environment. * The ability to get to the heart of a customer's business challenges quickly, and translate them into a clear path forward * Strong project management instincts across multiple concurrent workstreams * The ability to navigate a wide stakeholder landscape with confidence and credibility — and a natural instinct for building trust and lasting relationships at every level * Commercial awareness — you can identify and act on opportunities to grow your accounts * AI native in your approach and tool usage — you use AI and technology to move faster and do more, and you're always looking for a better way, creating leverage for yourself and the team * A belief that AI can fundamentally change how companies manage compliance — and a desire to be at the forefront of that From day one, you will have real ownership and immediate impact. Your job is to go out and win — finding, engaging, and closing the customers that will define what Freda becomes. In doing so, you will also play a pivotal role in shaping the go-to-market motion from the ground up, and the commercial playbook you help build will be foundational to how Freda grows. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Identify, engage, and close early customers across your market * Work directly with the founding team to shape positioning, messaging, and sales motion * Build trusted relationships with buyers and champions inside the right companies * Feed sharp, grounded insight back into the product and go-to-market strategy * Help establish the processes and habits that will define how Freda sells at scale * Take initiative beyond your immediate sales remit — at this stage that sometimes means staying close to customers from first conversation through to onboarding and beyond WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We believe great commercial talent comes from many places — tech sales, VC, consulting, law, and beyond.
