About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect specializing in Payments to join a large-scale technology initiative

within the banking and financial services sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payments architecture, a strong understanding of banking products and

financial services, and a passion for designing scalable, secure, and future-ready technology solutions.

In this role, you will lead architectural design and decision-making, define target and transition architectures, and collaborate

with business and technology stakeholders to deliver effective payment solutions. You will play a key role in translating business

requirements into architectural designs while supporting complex projects in an evolving technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and drive solution architecture frameworks, principles, and strategies within the Payments domain.
Design and develop target architectures, transition architectures, and architectural roadmaps.
Establish architectural roadmaps and technical runways to support long-term technology objectives.
Facilitate the definition of end-to-end payment flows in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
Contribute to detailed solution design alongside Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure architectural alignment and successful project delivery.
Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and deliverables.
  • Engage with stakeholders across multiple business and technology areas to align architectural decisions with strategic

objectives.

Navigate ambiguity and support decision-making in large, complex transformation initiatives.
Provide architectural guidance across Payment Channels and Payment Processing Platforms.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with business requirements, technical standards, and broader enterprise architecture

principles.

Requirements:

9+ years of experience in Payments Solution Architecture or a closely related architectural role within financial services.
Strong knowledge of banking, financial services, payment products, and payment processing ecosystems.
Proven experience designing and delivering solution architectures for complex payment systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop architectural deliverables, including target architectures, transition architectures, roadmaps,

and solution designs.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms and technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Microsoft Azure, and

OpenShift.

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience working in both traditional Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.
Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

Experience with DevOps practices and modern software delivery approaches.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams.
Experience working in large-scale banking transformation or payment modernization programmes.
A flexible and adaptable approach to collaboration, problem-solving, and delivery.
