Job Title: Retail and Consumer Goods EMEA Leader Req ID: SLSQ127R516 This is not a role for someone who wants to inherit a playbook. As the Go-to-Market Leader for EMEA Retail & Consumer Goods, you will architect and execute a category-defining strategy from the ground up. You'll operate with the mindset of a founder of a hyper-growth enterprise—a rare opportunity that demands entrepreneurial instincts, relentless drive, and the courage to build in ambiguity. Databricks is scaling at extraordinary speed. Databricks is the market share leader in data + AI in Retail & Consumer Goods, and this vertical represents one of the most significant growth opportunities in our portfolio. We need a leader who thrives in white space, who sees undefined territory not as risk but as canvas. You will shape how EMEA's largest retailers and consumer brands harness Data and AI to transform their operations, unlock new revenue streams, and reimagine customer experiences. You will report to the Global VP of Consumer Industries, but your impact will extend across the entire organization—influencing product direction, shaping partner ecosystems, and setting the strategic agenda for one of our most consequential markets. The impact you will have: * A Scalable EMEA Growth Engine Design and execute a go-to-market strategy that doesn't yet exist in its final form. You'll establish C-level relationships with flagship accounts, construct an ecosystem of ISVs, SIs, and alliance partners, and create repeatable motions that accelerate revenue growth across Retail, Consumer Goods, Restaurants, and Wholesale. * Programmatic Opportunity Capture Identify the highest-value use cases and industry-specific opportunities—demand forecasting, unified customer intelligence, supply chain optimization, real-time pricing—and build scalable programs that systematically convert these opportunities into revenue. You won't pursue targets one at a time; you'll construct the engines, assets, and activation frameworks that allow us to capture entire categories of opportunity across the region simultaneously. * A Partner Ecosystem from First Principles Identify, cultivate, and scale relationships with the partners who will amplify our reach. This isn't about managing existing relationships—it's about seeing what partnerships should exist and making them real. * Data-Driven Operational Excellence Use rigorous analysis to surface gaps, inefficiencies, and untapped opportunities within our go-to-market approach. Build the feedback loops and improvement mechanisms that compound our effectiveness over time. * Sales Plays That Travel Create comprehensive, scalable sales initiatives tailored to EMEA's diverse geographies while contributing frameworks that support Americas and APJ. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure these plays move from concept to revenue. * Industry Thought Leadership Establish Databricks as the authoritative voice in Retail & Consumer Goods transformation. Author white papers, command stages at premier industry events, and engage C-suite executives with a point of view that shapes how the market thinks about Data and AI. * Cross-Functional Influence Serve as a trusted advisor across product, sales, pre-sales, marketing, and partner teams. Your credibility will be earned through results, and your influence will extend far beyond your formal remit. * Market-Defining Content Collaborate with marketing to develop industry-specific collateral, demand generation campaigns, and event strategies that resonate with sophisticated enterprise buyers. * Sales Team Acceleration Build enablement content and coaching programs that elevate the entire verticalized sales organization—making others more effective is as important as your direct contributions. What we look for: * An Industry Insider with Builder DNA You've held senior leadership or practitioner roles in Retail or Consumer Goods. You understand the industry's challenges from the inside—but you're energized by building something new rather than optimizing what exists. * Entrepreneurial by Nature You've operated in environments where the path wasn't paved. You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, moving quickly, and course-correcting based on market feedback. Ambiguity is where you do your best work. * A GTM Architect You have extensive experience constructing vertical go-to-market programs on technology platforms, working cross-functionally to deliver measurable revenue growth and customer value. * An Executive Relationship Builder You engage naturally with CXOs and senior business leaders. You create trust through substance, not just polish, and you know how to translate technical capability into strategic business value. * A Transformation Leader You've led large-scale change initiatives and understand both the technical and human dimensions of enterprise transformation in complex organizations. * Technically Fluent You possess deep familiarity with the data and AI landscape, retail technology standards, and the broader ecosystem trends reshaping the industry. * Regulatory Aware You understand the European regulatory environment—GDPR, Greenhouse Gas Compliance, food waste, sustainability reporting—and can navigate these considerations in strategic conversations. * A Program Operator You've managed complex vertical initiatives end-to-end: gathering requirements, coordinating technical teams, driving marketing alignment, and managing partner relationships to hit milestones. * A Force Multiplier You have proven ability to train and enable sales teams, making the entire organization more effective at positioning solutions to Retail & Consumer Goods customers. Multilingual Fluent in English with strong proficiency in French or German. About Databricks Databricks is the data and AI company. 10% of Europe’s CO₂ emissions are caused by residential heating and energy bills are out of control. Aira is here to change that. With our intelligent Aira Heat Pump at the heart, we’re making the switch to clean energy-tech easier and more affordable. Helping Europe turn off gas and slashing energy costs one home at a time. Founded in 2022, and with 1200+ employees and counting, Aira is driving the clean energy revolution by providing homes with modern clean energy-tech solutions such as solar power, battery storage solutions and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland, and HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, and hubs across the UK, Germany and Italy, Aira is well on track to install clean energy-tech into 5 million homes by 2034. About the Survey & Design team: The Survey & Design team is part of the Acquisition Area of Aira, which is responsible for the entire sales journey, from lead generation to installed heat pump. Our team sits right in the middle of this, with a critical mission: Build tools that help Aira qualify, size, and design the right energy solution for every home — tools that get more accurate with every installation we do. When selling a heat pump system, you need to know what size of heat pump should be installed and whether any radiators need replacing. If we over-estimate this number, the customer will be paying more than they have to. If we under-estimate this number, we could install a heat pump that is unable to heat our customers' homes. Getting it right is crucial for both conversion and fast, efficient installations. And Aira is uniquely positioned to solve this: we own the entire feedback loop, from qualification through to monitoring the installed heat pump. About the role: Your main stakeholders are our Design Engineers, who work in customers' homes, but our tools impact almost every role in the Aira sales funnel, from Qualification, Sales, and Design all the way to Procurement, Planning, and Installation. You'll own the product direction for these tools across all our markets (UK, Germany, and Italy), offices (Stockholm and Helsingborg), and the factory (Poland). You'll lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and a designer, with a high degree of autonomy. Key responsibilities: Lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and a product designer, setting priorities and deciding what to build, when, and why. Own the product strategy and roadmap for Aira's survey, heat loss, and design tooling, ensuring alignment with the Acquisition Area's goal of profitable, high-quality installations. Drive the team's long-term differentiator: an accuracy-and-learning loop that uses installation telemetry to measure and reduce heat loss estimation error at every stage of the funnel. Become the domain expert on heat loss calculations, balancing each market's regulatory requirements against Aira's business goals. Act as the bridge between deep technical work and the field reality of a Design Engineer working on an iPad in a customer's home. Drive the roll-out of our tools across all markets and make sure they're adopted across every user group. Define the metrics and track how we're progressing toward our goals. We expect you to have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, or a related discipline). 3 years of experience in a similar Product Manager role, leading cross-functional teams of engineers and designers. The ability to own a technically and domain-complex product. You don't need to be a heating engineer, but you must be comfortable diving into a quantitative, calculation-driven domain and earning the trust of expert users. Strong data and analytics instincts: defining the right metrics, designing measurement (and recognising when a metric is misleading), and using data to drive decisions. It would be a bonus if you: Have studied thermodynamics. Are a homeowner, as it helps you understand the challenges our users face every day. Have experience building tools for field-based, operational, or expert workforces. Can speak German or Italian. What is in it for you? Gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing scale-up, with a supportive and inclusive culture, and career advancement opportunities. Collaborate with diverse teams across international markets and launch products globally. Develop and grow personally and professionally in an entrepreneurial-minded environment. Thrive in a dynamic, solution-oriented culture, tackling challenges and driving meaningful solutions that make a positive impact on the world. Influence the company's success, with a visible impact on product development and market growth. Enjoy our brand-new office at Norra Stationsgatan 93 in Stockholm. Conveniently located near public transport, with Sankt Eriksplan and Odenplan stations just a few minutes walk away. At Aira, we champion next-generation energy as well as diversity and inclusion. We firmly believe that a diverse workforce fosters innovation and creativity, enhancing our ability to serve customers and communities effectively. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures and perspectives to join our team. Our commitment is to uphold equality and inclusivity, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to a better future for our people and the planet.

10% of Europe’s CO₂ emissions are caused by residential heating, and energy bills are out of control. Aira is here to change that. With our intelligent Aira Heat Pump at the heart, we’re making the switch to clean energy-tech easier and more affordable. Helping Europe turn off gas and slash energy costs one home at a time. Founded in 2022, and with 1200+ employees and counting, Aira is driving the clean energy revolution by providing homes with modern clean energy-tech solutions such as solar power, battery storage solutions, and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland, and HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, and hubs across the UK, Germany, and Italy, Aira is well on track to install clean energy-tech into 5 million homes by 2034. About the role We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in our Acquisition organization. Acquisition focuses on the entire customer journey from first contact through to completed installation - the teams that turn interest into happy customers with heat pumps in their homes. This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, technical guidance, and organizational alignment. You will ensure engineers have context, support, and a mandate to do their best work. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to deliver solutions that matter. We are looking for a leader who speaks up, provides a critical perspective on decisions, and holds their ground. Not someone who waits for direction or avoids conflict. Someone who sees what needs doing and acts, taking initiative before problems escalate. You care about people - and that includes having difficult conversations and holding everyone, including yourself, accountable. You will be... Leading and developing engineers through regular one-on-ones focused on growth, blockers, and well-being. Supporting career development and addressing performance issues constructively. Creating psychological safety where engineers can raise concerns and influence decisions. Building a culture actively, not passively - engineers know their manager has their back personally, not just professionally. Working with PMs to ensure every project has clear problem statements and success criteria, so engineers know why they're building what they're building. Challenging work without clear value and helping teams push back when necessary. Navigating relationships with product leadership, PMs, engineering peers, and commercial leadership. Holding ground on engineering concerns. Providing honest feedback to leadership, even when uncomfortable. Collaborating on architecture and technical direction. Supporting modern practices, including AI- assisted development. Ensuring tech debt is tracked and championing ADRs for institutional memory. What you bring to the team Experience leading and developing software engineers, ideally in a product-focused company or scale-up environment Track record of building psychologically safe teams where people do their best work Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions with incomplete information Comfort with difficult conversations - giving feedback, addressing performance, saying no Strong collaboration skills across disciplines (product, design, commercial) Technical background sufficient to engage meaningfully with architecture decisions and engineering practices Experience with agile methodologies and modern development practices Nice to have Experience in a fast-paced scale-up or startup environment Familiarity with the energy sector or hardware/software integration Experience supporting teams through organizational change Background in full-stack or platform engineering What is in it for you? Gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing scale-up, with a supportive and inclusive culture, and career advancement opportunities. Collaborate with diverse teams across international markets and launch products globally. Develop and grow personally and professionally in an entrepreneurial-minded environment. Thrive in a dynamic, solution-oriented culture, tackling challenges and driving meaningful solutions that make a positive impact on the world. Influence the company's success, with a visible impact on product development and market growth. Enjoy our brand-new office at Norra Stationsgatan 93 in Stockholm. Conveniently located near public transport, with Sankt Eriksplan and Odenplan stations just a few minutes' walk away. At Aira, we champion next-generation energy as well as diversity and inclusion. We believe that a diverse workforce fosters innovation and creativity, enhancing our ability to serve customers and communities effectively. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives to join our team. Our commitment is to uphold equality and inclusivity, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to a better future for our people and the planet.
