About the role You're the local face of People at Legora: bringing local expertise, judgement and a strong understanding of employment practices to support employees and managers through a range of people matters. You will provide local advisory support, run local casework from start to finish, fill process and policy gaps, and make sure the employee experience in your market is accurate, timely and well handled. This is a hands-on, operational role and a strong launchpad for your next step. You'll be close enough to the business to understand how each function really works, trusted to make real judgment calls on the ground, and sharp enough to know when something needs a specialist instead. Sitting within People Operations, you will act as an escalation for our People Operations Specialists, providing guidance and resolving matters that require local interpretation, judgement or a more tailored approach You'll partner closely with Employee Relations & Compliance, who own our jurisdictional frameworks, create consistent standards, and provide specialist expertise for complex, contested or legally sensitive matters. You'll also work alongside our People Business Partners, sharing local insights and supporting the effective delivery of people initiatives and organisational changes within your local market. What you'll own * Provide practical advice to employees, managers and People Operations colleagues on local employment practices, policies and people matters that require interpretation or judgement. * * Running local cases from start to finish within the scope of your certification, including absence management, ongoing performance concerns and restructuring conversations, with each one properly scoped, documented and closed * Handling intake for leave, accommodation and absence requests, resolving what's routine and recognizing what needs to go further * Building out local process and policy, and ensuring people programs effectively land in your market. * Identify opportunities to improve local processes, employee experiences and ways of working, collaborating with other People teams to implement improvements. * Applying your market's jurisdiction playbook accurately and consistently, and flagging where it doesn't fit local reality * Recognizing the moment a matter becomes formal, contested or legally sensitive, and handing it off the same day with everything the next person needs to pick it up seamlessly * Keeping your certification and calibration current so your casework meets the same standard as every other market * Work closely with People Business Partners and Employee Relations & Compliance, sharing local trends, recurring issues and emerging risks to inform broader people decisions and improvements. What success looks like * Employees and managers get fast, consistent, local support without having to wait on anyone * Every case you run is well documented and would stand up to close scrutiny * Handoffs are clean and immediate, and nothing formal or legally sensitive stays with you longer than it should * Patterns you spot locally, such as a recurring issue or a risk building in one team, are raised early with both Employee Relations & Compliance and the relevant People Partner, before they become bigger problems * You're a trusted, visible presence in your market: the person people choose to go to, not a channel they're told to use Who you are * Experience in an HR, People Operations or HR generalist role, ideally with some exposure to employee relations casework * A good understanding of local employment practices, employee relations and HR policies, with the ability to apply these in real-world situations. * Able to stay neutral and steady under pressure, including with senior stakeholders * Sound judgment on when to act and when to escalate; you'd rather flag early than guess * Organized and detail-oriented, with documentation clear enough that someone else could pick it up cold * Motivated by where this role can lead, with a genuine interest in growing * Comfortable working within a defined playbook while bringing your own judgment to how it's applied Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience. THE ROLE Legora is one of the fastest-growing legal technology companies in the world, and our legal team is built to match: forward-deployed, AI-first and working across jurisdictions and disciplines. As Senior Legal Lead, Commercial, you will build and lead our commercial legal function in EMEA, while staying hands-on in the deals that matter most. You’ll work across time zones with a high degree of autonomy. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING * Lead and develop the EMEA commercial legal team: set priorities, coach team members, and build a culture of pragmatic, business-minded lawyering. * Act as the senior legal partner to Growth on strategic customer engagements. * Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex customer contracts, and handle escalations from the team. * Own the approach to commercial risk allocation, pricing structures, liability and contractual protections. * Build scalable, repeatable contracting practices by developing and maintaining templates, playbooks and negotiation guidelines that raise deal velocity. * Manage data protection and compliance considerations within commercial contracting, so risk is handled without slowing execution. * Work with legal leadership on team structure, hiring and ways of working as the EMEA function scales. You are an excellent negotiator. * Strong legal judgment and the confidence to make decisions independently and to stand behind them with senior stakeholders. * Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements; corporate matters experience is valuable. * A focus on business outcomes: you turn legal analysis into clear, actionable advice. * Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, taking initiative and managing work across time zones. * Genuine interest in AI and legal tech, and the curiosity to apply these tools in day-to-day legal work. THE ROLE Legora has grown from 40 people to more than 1,000 in 18 months and our Talent Acquisition function is now entering its next chapter. The processes, standards, and hiring approach that support our next phase of growth are being built today, which you’ll play a significant part in. You'll work closely with senior leaders from day one and play a key role in shaping how Legora hires and scales. WHAT YOU’LL DO Revenue growth depends on having the right commercial talent in place, fast, and at a high bar. As a Talent Partner, you will own that directly. You are not a support function for the Go To Market (GTM) team. You are a commercial operator in your own right, accountable for the quality and velocity of the people who drive Legora's growth. You will own end-to-end hiring across GTM in EMEA, working closely with senior leaders who are genuinely invested in recruiting, trusted to make high-impact decisions on hiring and team composition. Specifically, you will: * Own full-cycle recruitment across EMEA, partnering closely with hiring managers to define role scope, success profiles, and hiring strategies aligned to business priorities. * Build and nurture proactive talent pipelines for critical and future hiring needs, ensuring we stay ahead of demand rather than reacting to it. * Run structured, data-informed hiring processes that balance quality, pace, and consistency while maintaining a high bar for talent. * Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first conversation through to offer, acting as a trusted and credible ambassador for Legora throughout. WHAT YOU BRING You understand that hiring decisions are business decisions, and you hold yourself accountable to the same outcomes as the teams you hire for. You're hands-on, sharp, and trusted by senior leaders to shape teams that win. We're looking for: * Previous experience in talent acquisition in a high-growth environment, startup, scaleup, or VC-backed company, with meaningful depth hiring GTM talent. * A proven track record hiring high-performing GTM talent across the seniority levels that matter most at this stage of growth. * The ability to run multiple complex searches without losing quality or pace. * Genuine commercial acumen. You understand and can articulate OTE structures, quota attainment, and how a hire affects revenue trajectory, and you use that fluency to advise hiring managers and close exceptional candidates.
